Herman the Reclusive |

"Oi! Knock it off!" Herman yells angrily. "So help me Grenwold, if you let that thing eat any of my crafting supplies then you can kiss your stupid fairy saddle goodbye because I won't be making it." He pauses to point dramatically at the creature. "Because that's the stuff I'd be using to make it!"

Grenwold Houtvester |

Grenwold holds out his hands, and responds in Terran with a gravelly rumble,
He translates, "so, this creature says he's hungry. Seems like there's enough cheap crystals upstairs ones there to keep it sated indefinitely, right? And the crystals - we can't use them for crafting - and it isn't like we can trade with anyone. Doesn't seem like a bad idea... is that okay with everyone?"
Grenwold says to the creature, in Terran, "there's other crystals elsewhere in the caverns up above." He gestures behind him, "we can take you once we finish exploring."

GM PDK |

Responding in Terran, "Ok. Leaving now. Going above to eat crystals. Name Clilassh by the way. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! Here what I found under rocks earlier: could not eat that. You can have it."
He lifts a pile of rocks he had made earlier and reveals a brooch of shielding. He points at it with his crystal leg and then points at Grenwold. He then rubs his face against Grenwold's hands and departs. I have reduced the Inventory's 'Crystals' entry from 150gp to 100gp to reflect his eating. You have not harvested those crystals yet, so I will assume he only eats a little bit of those and moves on in other cave systems, the way a creature would not exhaust its own natural resources. His 'eating' of 50gp's worth of crystals will not happen overnight either, but more over the period of a week or two, if you'll allow it. Other than this 'cost', the creature appears friendly and easy to deal with.

![]() |

"Since you can speak to Clilassh, you might want to find out what else is around here and maybe after he finishes having a snack upstairs, we might find him useful for excavating and such." Shaman Vale suggested.

Grenwold Houtvester |

Can I ask him any questions before he runs off?

Arthur Alaval |

"What was that?" Arthur looks perplexed, wondering if he should have hit the thing after all.

GM PDK |

Luke pushes open the next set of double doors Aragorn-style.
Enormous salt crystals hang from the ceiling here, glittering in the light of a glowing blue crystal set in an inhuman, insect-like statue in the center of the floor. Mist drifts along the floor of the circular chamber, swirling in the gentle currents of air. The western wall has collapsed into stony debris, but on the eastern wall a carving of a huge, withered dragon’s face leers above a metallic door set deep in the stone.
Woven mats made of dried grasses cover the floor, while bundles of dried herbs hang from the walls, filling the room with a pungent grassy odor.
Before you stand four troglodyte warriors at the ready, and behind them are three robed troglodyte females chanting in unison.

Herman the Reclusive |

"F#+# - more of them." Herman snaps his fingers, and a translucent globe surrounds his head. With unseen air currents moving his unkempt hair around randomly, he looks even more like a madman. "Don't just stand there in a line waiting for them to kill you," he spits, taking his own advice and tucking into the corner of the doorway.
Casting air bubble and 5 ft step. Mulch comes with him - no need for a separate initiative tracker.

Mulch comes with him - no need for a separate initiative tracker.
It's more to track his hit points, to be honest... :P

Looking at one of the chanters in the back of the group, Shahman Vale acted like he was yawing, letting loose a hex on the caster.
Yay! Looks like I spoke too soon. Slumber hex on the Light Blue one. DC 17 Will save.

GM PDK |

Dommer's arrrows miss due to the intervening crowd. Herman surrounds his head with fresh air, and Vale tries to put a curse on the furthest troglodyte, using an old Phaendar village trick he learned from his grandmother when he was young.
Light blue Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The female kneels, puzzled and unsure, then slumps over to the stones, sleeping. Herman is surprised... he could make his cousins yawn as a kid, by yawning himself, but this... there was some strange power behind this. Some kind of spirit of the woods or from the land itself at work perhaps...
The wave the collective stench then hits the heroes! (alas, there isn't enough fresh air in Herman's spells to prevent the raw stink from reaching his nostrils...)
Three will saves required by everyone: Fort DC15, DC16 and DC17; if any of those fail you are sickened for 10 rounds
One of the robed females kneels beside the sleeping one, and wakes her up.
The other robed female turns towards Vale, frowns, and utters a quick incantation. The floor beyond the entrance because extremely greasy, threatening some of the heroes' footing.

Grenwold Houtvester |

Grenwold grumped at having more rocks fall on his head, and approached the light-blue-robed troglodyte, gritting his teeth and spitting out pebbles, he smacks towards her.

Ringo attacks the still-entangled priestess with his horns again.

If light blue is hit, the enemy is entangled per Tangling Attack - (Ex): The companion can use this attack as a free action when he makes an attack. If the attack hits, the target is entangled for 1 round.
Entangled: The character is ensnared. Being entangled impedes movement, but does not entirely prevent it unless the bonds are anchored to an immobile object or tethered by an opposing force. An entangled creature moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.

Grenwold Houtvester |

I doubt a 12 hit whether they were entangled or not. Heh.

Dommer |

Dommer moves towards the enemies.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 Trying to tumble
As he stops adjacent to an enemy, he turns around and shoots him with his hornbow.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 1 = 17 Ew
Damage: 2d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 + 1 = 7
Dommer doesn't provoke when shooting with his bow due to Point Blank Master. He's currently under the effects of Barkskin

GM PDK |

@Dommer: grease + difficult terrain = 1/4 speed. If you add Tumbling, 1/8 speed. Please edit your post/actions; thx!

Dommer |

Sure. Dommer just double moves to the new position in the map.

GM PDK |

@Dommer: thanks for the edit; Vale and Arthur may go. I will update the Round counter afterwards.

Grenwold Houtvester |

I pre-rolled the AOOs on the off-chance that one casts spells (non-defensively).

Arthur Alaval |

Arthur steps up and swings at the purple troglodyte.
