There's no loot on these gugs.
I presume that you continue to examine the sinkhole.
Searching the fragile, waterlogged containers to the north necessitates that Prof holds his breath while grappling with the sunken boxes. There appears to be little of value at first glace, but a few minutes of searching reveals one of the boxes to be more than it initially seems—the oblong crate is actually a folding boat.
The magic aura Prof saw in the sinkhole comes from a string of beads on a skeleton's wrist. (A "normal" skeleton--not undead.) You identify it as a lesser strand of prayer beads.
Also, the sinkhole seems to make a turn further on down. Looks like it leads somewhere, but you'd have to go down for at least 100 feet before it turns.
(1) Do you wish to go?
(2) If so, who's going?
Obo Ibn Jad

Assuming our diver comes back to report
I think we should probably finish up exploring around here before we go diving into the murky waters.
Obo scans their map and jabs a finger onto an area (A13-15).
I suggest we backtrack past the supply dump and check out around here. Looks to be a bunch of linked regions so may be inhabited.
GM Engleaktig

can I have saved my spell?
Sure :)

Before
Professor reports back.
"Agreed I would rather vanish into the depth once we know everything else is safe."
Professor leads the way in the direction indicated by Obo
Obo Ibn Jad
|
I dislike leaving something behind us, lets find out what it is.
Obo floats up as close to the ceiling as they can.
Professor Baldeck Kaldosian
|
"Rather large area. Let's watch the corners."
Professor leads the way back while trying to gather more information with his senses as he goes.
Perception: 10 + 28 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + 28 + (1) = 39
"Be ready for another fight. Little hear that makes noise has been friendly."
GM Engleaktig

Carefully peering into the area you can see that these crammed living quarters once served as sleeping units for the miners who worked here. Now, the beds are in shambles, having been all but eaten by the resident coal moths and rot grubs.
It is also clear that, when the workers abandoned these mines, they did so in a hurry. They left several belongings behind in their rushed exodus.
Obo Ibn Jad
|
Obo scans the area with detect magic, just in case.
GM Engleaktig
|
The ceilings here are 20' high. Given the enormity of the scale, Obo is unable to detect anything interesting before the professor spots telltale movement on the ceiling.

Round 1
Obo is up!
Obo Ibn Jad
|
With a wave of one hand Obo twists the threads of fate around the blue gug, dooming it.
Casting quickened Ill Omen, there is no save. It must roll twice and take the lower result on its next 3 d20 rolls
With a raised eyebrow the creature is then engulfed in a torrent of freezing ice, which seeks to trap it.
Using the Ice Tomb major hex. It deals 3d8 ⇒ (6, 6, 3) = 15 cold damage and it needs to make a fortitude save for half (rolling twice, taking the worst result). If it fails it is trapped, entombed in the ice. I am not sure if that would be attached to the ceiling or would make it crash to the ground. Once it breaks out it is staggered for 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds.
Obo then descends to ground level to seek the protection of the rest of the group.

That sounds awesome and hilarious! I'm all for it falling, if you are.
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13; Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
The blue gug is taken completely by surprise. Once its form is encased in ice, it loses its grip on the ceiling and falls to the ground.

Obo turns to Orange and twists the skein of fate arond it, foiling its desire for death and destruction.
Using evil eye on orange to reduce its attack bonus by 4. It needs to make a DC25 will save. If it saves it is still affected for 1 round. I will then cackle to extend the duration by 1 round.
GM Engleaktig
|
Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

Fear? that's a weird response from such a big monster... have my sword skills developed to such an extent, or is there something more going on here?
"Friends: is one of you an empath or some sort of mind reader? I'd like to know what these things are thinking... maybe they've been used against their will as slave labor?"
Theodric backs off, and sheathes his bloody sword, holding his hands out forward to motion for peace...
We'll see if they have a shred of decency now. If it doesn't lash out at me, I'll give these things a chance...

Sorry if I misspoke or worded something in a confusing way. There's nothing more to this creature. I simply thought Theodric landed a good, hard strike. :)
