GM Redelia |
The minotaur growls angrily as it is thwacked with javelin and bolt. It moves towards Janira and swings its weapon.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Janira moves away again, continues singing, and tried to disarm the minotaur with her whip.
1d20 ⇒ 1
You're up again, everyone.
minotaur -14 HP from as written
Salmok |
Double move towards the minotaur
"Hey! Stop that!". Salmok rushes forwards towards the minotaur.
Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Kato Strongthrower |
Kato moves quickly across the water to get close to the beast. "Hey! Over here!"
Ahb, if you are casting a spell you can only get one move. A double move (as I did) is a full round action.
Ahberanth of Griffon |
Cursing for thinking himself so clever in his choice of utility spells and leaving out his magic missile, Ahberanth hurries forward, clutching his walking stick so hard his knuckles grow white.
There must be something...something I can do to be helpful he grimaces inwardly, rummaging through whatever vague knowledge and trivia he can remember from his training on the ecology of minotaurs.
"...ok, mazes. They like mazes. That's one... he mutters to himself, frustrated.
Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Also, double move.
Zarzezi Krig Minglenorf |
Zarzezi moves up closer and seeing how serious the battle is, decides that another bomb throw is in order.
"Fire in the hole"
bomb: 1d20 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 3 = 21
fire damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
GM Redelia |
crit confirm for Zarzezi's bomb: 1d20 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 3 = 4
Zarzezi's bomb hits the minotaur and explodes. Ahberanth knows that minotaurs are brute force creatures, without any unusual defenses or magical attacks.
The minotaur again moves close to and swings at Janira.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Janira's inspiring song begins to fail, but is good for one more round of inspiration. She throws something at the minotaur
1d20 ⇒ 17
The minotaur's feet become covered with goo, probably making it hard for it to move. Janira then moves towards you.
You're up again, team.
Ahberanth of Griffon |
While Janira's survival skills seem quite impressive, Ahberanth knows that the brutal nature of the beast will likely overcome her should he truly get his hands...and horns...on her.
Determined, the mage charges ahead to the point of wading partway into the shallow stream. Once there, he summons his will and imbues his staff with arcane force, and speaks, "Clava Volantes."
Inspired by Janira's song, Ahberanth hurls his walking staff at the Minotaur with all his might, and it spins end over end in a graceful, magically guided arc.
Walking Stick: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
While the short staff hits the beast, the spellcaster is unsure if it actually strikes much more than a glancing blow, but at the very least the stick responds as intended, and soars end over end, coming to a halt with a * smack * into his outstretched hand!
I've no idea if he actually hit with a 14, but if it hits, here's the damage roll.
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Kato Strongthrower |
"Pile on him!" Kato yells as he takes a slightly circuitous route to meet the beast so he's not in anyone else's way. And maybe leaving a spot for any wanna be flankers...
He drives in with his heavy flail...
Flail: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 = 13
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Salmok |
Salmok will charge in to fight the minotaur!
Full action to charge. +2 to attack, -2 to AC
Charge attack w/ club: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Unfortunately, Salmok is not used to the weight of the club and the attack goes wide.
AC = 16 for round
GM Redelia |
actually, due to various negative conditions on the enemy, that hits, Salmok!
Ahberanth, Kato, and Salmok all injure the minotaur, who falls over, dead. Janira falls over, panting, clearly relieved.
"Thank you! That was one tough minotaur!"
What now, everyone? You've earned full rewards, so we can go back to Absalom or you can go back into the caves.
Kato Strongthrower |
"I am happy you are safe, Janira, but we told that blind gillman we would check out another tunnel for him. I think we should honor that promise. However, I will go with whatever the group majority wants."
Salmok |
"Are you alright? Do you need any medical assistance?" Salmok mentions without realizing he knows close to nothing about medicine.
"Kato is right. We need to honor that promise. Are you willing to join us in there?"
Zarzezi Krig Minglenorf |
"I agree, we should explore that other tunnel. Who grabbed the Cure wand and/or potions? Janira looks like she could use some assistance"
Is the crit-confirm roll something I should have done when I got the crit
GM Redelia |
"I'll be fine. I'll wait for you here, if you have more to explore."
OK, I've moved you to the next map, assuming you go back into the caverns and go through the exit you did not before.
which enemies: 1d6 ⇒ 4
please arrange yourselves as you wish in the current area of the map, and roll your own initiative.
Salmok |
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"Wait here Janira. We'll be right back! Excellent job fighting that minotaur by the way."
Ahberanth of Griffon |
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Ahberanth joins his companions in heading back into the tunnels, feeling a surprising sense of accomplishment and pride in the fact that all of them, as a unit, decided to complete their mission and keep their word. The mage looks around at the other three and nods. These are good people, worth risking his life for...and likely, he was doing that right now.
"Ok. Anyone remember where we left the dead people who were out for a stroll?" As if to put emphasis on his statement, Ahby makes a dramatic sniff, smelling the air...
Kato Strongthrower |
Kato gives a little laugh at Ahb's statement. "Ah! You have the makings of a true undead hunter!"
init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
OMG. I don't think i've rolled over an 8 on any of my games in the last week or so. :)
Kato Strongthrower |
[ooc] Lol, no worries. I just assumed there was something mysterious going on under there. :)
Kato steps in, seeing one of the undead within reach he steps around and to it to attack.
Flail: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Salmok |
Seeing Kato run in, Salmok runs in after him.
"I'll go try to distract this thing. Be careful Kato."
Double move inside.
Joseph Martin 681 |
Botting Ahberanth:
Ahberanth moves as to not be a prime target and opts to help out with a little magic. Gesturing with one hand while speaking a few soft words a glob of acid flies towards the unengaged undead.
acid splash vs touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
acid damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
I beleive know: Religion was for undead, Ahb does not have that..And my dice still suck...
Salmok |
Salmok smashes the blue zombie.
Club, flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
But the zombie seems to be too dodgy for him.
Kato Strongthrower |
Well, the internet dryer must have eaten my post from yesterday... Meh, maybe I hit preview instead of submit Who knows...
Kato, being his usual gruff self just says, "Well. The Gillmen are friendly and may have a few interesting things to show us. There's one less angry Minotaur looking for a light halfling lunch on the island as well..."
Salmok |
"There were a few beautiful murals to... who was it?" Salmok turns to Ahberanth knowing the wizard must remember. "Someone famous from a long time ago. That's all I know."
Zarzezi Krig Minglenorf |
They were depictions of scenes from Aroden's holy book but from an earlier version as they differed slightly.
Zarzezi takes the scroll that Ahberanth had copied the four inscriptions onto and hands it to Kreighton.
I'm guessing Ahberanth might still be having internet issues
GM Redelia |
He listens carefully to what you all have to say, and nods thoughtfully.
Three days later, you are each awarded a wayfinder in a ceremony acknowledging that you are now full agents of the Pathfinder Society.
thanks for playing everyone; sorry the game took so long.
