Once she had finished scouting the area - and came to the conclusion that it was indeed the plant that had caused the hallucinations this time around - Kasana gingerly made her way over to the creature's remains and poked at it with with bow to see what she could discover about it and how natural it may have been.

Sarya ran over to Cheshire, slapped him in the face and shook him. Instead of saying something smart such as "snap out of it" or "there's no quicksand", Sarya instead smiled and said "I've always wanted to do that!" a little too loudly. She, then, released the gnome and said "Sorry! So sorry! Uhm, there's no quicksand, Cheshire, it's an illusion!"

@GM: I don't think I've been hit today. I took damage last fight against the hobgoblin scouts, but that was a day ago, and with second wind and short/long rest recovery, I'm pretty sure I woke up full. During the plant fight, I almost took a hit when I fled with the illusion, but the AoO went to someone else (don't recall who, maybe Orthos since he's hurt?)
Sarya saw the festivities and wondered how they missed that much cacophony during the fight with the plant. She put her hand on Cheshire's back, convinced he is the 'diplomat' in the group and not so gently nudged him forward to talk to them and said "I'll make sure we have an escape route. You know... in case diplomacy becomes aggressive negotiations." She went to check the southern south exit to see if it was blocked. She tried opening it to give them a fleeing path in case they needed one.
Inside, she was thinking Never thought I'd be worried about fey aggressively, but the memory of the encounter in the woods where a fey made her breathe in poisonous gases came to her mind and she shivered.

"I think we should leave them alone..." Kasana agreed, "At least until we've got a better handle on what's going on around here. The way creatures have been acting lately, they may attack us on sight."
Gazul Ironfist
"Seeing what they did to the hobgoblins, I'm in a mind to agree. With any luck they'll drink themselves into a stupor soon enough."

Cheshire grabbed Saryas arm as if it was salvation. His eyes went wide with surprise with the slap. He looked shook. A quick look at what he saw clear eyed and the words of the elf sinking in. He rubbed his cheek, "Painful but effective."
He looked around he quickly hid when he noted the fey. He looked to his allies, "Glad they hurt the hobs. . . .ah . . . are they possible allies? I mean some fey . . .they are not to be messed with. Whooogh." He let out a sound that drove home the point and shaked a look off his face.

@DM: That's cool. I'll take this opportunity to develop Sarya a little bit more.
Seeing that they were being left alone, Sarya thought that it was better to try and get into the fort. She has thought of doing so repeatedly in her training days, imagining the inside of massive stone constructions and how people would live in such cold buildings.
Of course, now she was glad she had a mere cave she called home. She thought of how the war was affecting her and the forest, including these fey. The elf wondered if any of them knew the fey they slew in the woods and shivered. Stepping forward, Sarya said "Come, let's find a way inside and let these fey to their party."

If we explore these towers maybe we can find a clue or two and maybe move to the main building along the walls?, he suggested.
Kasana joined the others and took a look at their options within the courtyard. The double doors to the far end were a no go, and the far tower and structure - possibly a stable - further into the courtyard also seemed like poor choices. Leaving only the two closest towers as viable options for the time being, Kasana turned to the others and said, "I agree. We should try one of the two closer towers first and see if we can avoid the revelry over there. Stay here for a moment, I'm going to check the southern tower to see if it's unlocked or trapped. I'll try and be quiet." Heading forward by herself, Kasana stealthily made her way to door at the base of the tower and carefully checked to see if it was unlocked or trapped in any perceivable way.

Approaching the door, Kasana heard a soft crunching sound behind her and turned around in a flash, bow drawn, expecting to fight off drunken fey. Instead she found Cheshire, absentmindedly following along behind her, a faraway look in his eyes towards the revel. Did he not hear me? she thought puzzlingly to herself as she lowered her bow. Or maybe he's still affected by the spores?? Either way, she held her hand up in front of him in a halting manner before whispering, "You're being too loud and you'll get us all caught. Go back to the others I'll be back in a flash." She waited to make sure he understood her before turning back around and continuing towards the Southern Tower. I swear that gnome is going to give me a heart attack one day... she thought to herself tiredly.
Just playing off the fact that Cheshire stealthed so poorly XD

Cheshire froze in an awkward pose mid tiptoed step. Sarya's reassuring hand saved him from a crash.

Upon reaching the chamber, Sarya commented "Oh, poopy room. I read about these." She resisted the curiosity of using one of the holes and said "We should first cover the top floors and move our way down. Make sure we are not surprised from above."
Waiting for the others to agree with her or not, she walked, sword in hand, carefully avoiding the tripwire. She also commented "We should just jump over this wire. Whatever it does could help us in the future."
She suddenly felt hungry. That struck her as odd, as being in a poopy room, as her little brother called it, should not make one think of food. However, she had her mind in a strawberry tart that she once made. It did not end up tasting good, but she was proud of it. The tart had excessive sugar and the redness was off as well. Sarya realized she was looking hungrily at Cheshire's hair and she turned away embarrassed.
Gazul Ironfist
"Aye. Cutting wires when we don't know what it does seems like a bad idea." He looked around with clear suspicion. "And be careful. Who knows what kind of fey might be lurkin' here? Might be smaller, more crafty kinds than the ones drunk outside."

"A what room?" Kasana asked the elf when she entered, not sure if she had misheard her.
Kasana couldn't help but be a bit disappointed when the group preferred to skip the wire over trying to disable it; she had been in possession of Gazul's incredible pair of Thieves' Tools but hadn't had the opportunity to see just how well they'd work in action. Sighing internally, she took a moment before joining the others following the wire to its end to see what sort of trap laid in wait. As she did so, a thought struck her and she called out quietly, "Do you think this was added before or after the fort's destruction? It could be a sign that there are more than just fey lurking about. Potentially allies even..."

Cheshire looked at Kasana, "Indoor crapper."
"Allies we can hope I guess. I mean not all fey are . . ." He shivers remembering something disturbing, "Some are kinda nice."

"I'll believe it when I see it." Gazul muttered. "Now let's get out of the crapper, aye?"

"Heeeeyy, there, little fellas! What a lovely day to kill hobgoblins wouldn't ya say?", Sarya said in the most friendly voice she could muster, putting her sword back in its scabbard. She grew hearing stories of how the fey were friends with the elves, but now that she could make friends with some, she didn't really know how to act. She looked at the others as if asking for help.
Kasana Windfoot
Kasana raised an eyebrow as Sarya attempted to communicate with the fey. Maybe the Elves in other parts of the world interacted with the fey differently, but to Kasana, Sarya's approach seemed odd. That being said, she wasn't particularly experienced dealing with the creatures herself, besides the occasional pixie or satyr, and deferred to the elf's judgement on how best to proceed with her fey cousins. Still, she kept her guard up and was ready to move or strike should the situation call for it.

Seeing that, Orthos figures that it wouldn't hurt to act diplomatically.

You want the 'good booze'?, he says scratching his head. Sounds reasonable I suppose... likely it's in the main building. If you can lead us past those "Korreds" into the main building I suppose we could help you look there...

Realizing that she doesn't know the first thing about fey, watched the little one talk about booze. She was completely speechless and, added to the fact that she didn't know where any of it could be found, just turned to the other side looking at the room. Not wanting to interact with the fey, she tried looking for details in the walls where the booze could be hidden.

"Jus' keep it a secret about us here. We'll look around this fortress and if we find the good booze, we'll bring it back here. But if the korreds find out that we're here, ye know that they'll demand it all for themselves."
Cheshire Silvanshee
Instinctively at the sight of the Leprechauns Cheshire gripped his lucky coin tighter, knowing the fey to be notorious pickpokets.
He smiles, "Yeah you want the good hooch." He looks around, "So it was the Korreds that took out the Hobgoblins? Huh. Do any of you know what happened to the rangers who were here before or what the Hobgoblins did to anger the Korreds.

Kasana stayed quiet as the others conversed with the fey creatures. They seemed to have it handled well enough for the time being and she doubted they would alert the drunken revelers below about their presence. Deciding to take the imitative and scout ahead, she quietly ascended the stairs to the next level to see what awaited above.

Is the staircase mentioned in the recap a new one or is it the same one Kasana used to get up to the 3rd level? Also does the trap door simply lead down to the second level?
Returning to the second level, Kasana managed to overhear the end of the party's conversation with the leprechauns. "It looks like whatever happened around here also reached all the way to the top of this tower." she began pointing towards the stairs before turning towards the fey creatures. "What kind of 'special booze' specifically are we looking for? And what exactly can you all do to help us avoid the drunks down below...?"

It's the one used to get to the third level. The trap door leads to the ramparts above the tower.
The previously invisible leprechaun appeared, "Wine, of course. Red wine. Don't you know 'good booze' when you see it?"
The leprechaun were quickly losing their faith in their new allies, "As to what we can do... we can conjure illusions... turn invisible... distractions! We will not endanger ourselves..."
Orthos of Nethys
The ramparts and moving along them may draw attention as we move to the main building. Some illusions of things in the opposite direction will be fine.

"Ah, I see. Kasana began, trying to hide her surprise as the invisible leprechaun revealed itself. "Well we will certainly keep an eye out for the 'good booze' and bring it to you if we find some." she added before calling the entire party together for a quick huddle.
She commented to Kasana "Maybe we take the trap door trying to move from above?"
"I was thinking the same thing. At worst, it'd at least give us a better vantage point to survey the entire keep." Pausing for a moment to make sure the group was out of earshot of any leprechauns, she added quietly, "I am not sure about the rest of you, but I don't think we should be relying on them too heavily to get around; they do not seem like the most reliable sort. Whatever we decide to do, I don't think it should hinge on the fey and their magic; it could spell disaster for us if it goes poorly..." Kasana then looked to the others to hear their thoughts on the matter.

Let them create a diversion at least... I'm Facinated at seeing what they can do and it would give them something constructive to do.
"I see your point. Though..." she began as she turned to watch them for a moment as they did something foolish, "...it might be best if we don't ask them to do anything too 'grand'. For their own safety of course..."
