Regardless of what she may or may not have determined, she looked back towards the party and said, Perhaps we can do both. The four of us (pointing at everyone but Sarya) ambush them from the other side and try to take out as many as we can while funneling them towards you. (points to Sarya). Then once they head in your direction, you can capture one and dispatch any others that may of survived our first strike. Think that might work?"
Gazul Ironfist
"If it works for ye, then it does for me. Just be careful not to get filled with arrows. Hobgoblins aren't idiotic orcs. They're trained soldiers, who've bloodied us on more than one occasion. We shouldn't underestimate them." Gazul said.

Cheshire nods, "So we want them following us toward Sarya." He chimes in trying to confirm the plan. "Gnomes make good bait. I mean no offense intended we know we are not always taken seriously." He shrugs. "Perhaps I could lead them to all of you."
Kasana Windfoot
"Risky, but if you're willing to do it I won't say no. Just make sure to duck when you reach the clearing... and don't get caught in Sarya's trap either..."

Two arrows flew down range in quick succession. The first one hit a tree, but the second took the hobgoblin captain in the thigh. It wasn't enough to kill him, to be sure, but it still got through the armor and drew blood. With a smile on his face, he reached for another arrow.
Assuming we planned this so that we have arrows coming in from all directions, right? That way if the hobgoblins flee then they won't have any easy exits

OOC: Not sure what you are doing here. It will take 60' of movement to get to the snare so a full round action (2 moves).
However, if you do that then you won't have an action to activate your cloak (which is not in your PC sheet, BTW).
If you move and then activate your cloak, the hob patrol may not get to the snare area.
Let me know what you're doing and I'll move stuff along.

Thank you for the heads up I added it to my sheet.
As for my thinking. I was simply trying to RP the last portion of my efforts. I figured that my drawing them in would be more than one round and it would be a process or luring them over time. This is what I thought you had started in the last recap. I was simply playing that up leading to the scene. There wasn't a map so I wasn't as concerned with movement. Where I became concerned with actions was the last portion. I wasn't sure if you were going to consider my skill as my "action" if so my next available would be to poof to safe.
Cheshire Silvanshee
Just to be sure, you'll all converging to my position?
Yes I was hoping to lead them to the kill zone. Which in my head if they are following me they are in. But I am not confident in what I was able to accomplish after the DM's last questions.

I feel like. I screwed this up somehow. I might be wrong. Looking at what happened in Turn 246 The Snare. I thought that the issue was mostly already resolved that I had led the hobgoblins to the ambush sight. I posted after that what I figured was a narrative of how I lead them there as well as the action that DM asked for. Its clear that I didn't get something or communicate my intentions well because the DM asked what I was trying to do. Now it seems like. Despite a 22 deception and what I thought from the narrative in Turn 246 from the DM. I only lead them close by and not to the ambush location. And teleporting away gave away the plan. I don't know what the break down was I might have assumed more success from Turn 246 than was there? From what I wrote in response I not going to poof away until they were right near me and only when I was right in the ambush zone. When I posted the lead up there wasn't a map and we never said how far I had lead them and so on. Now if feels like the plan was botched. Now its possible that someone's Sense Motive beat my deception. But I was hoping to get the enemies a lot closer. Using cover to make the arrows less lethal and force them into the kill zone if they wanted to get me. Grazul asked one of the questions I had if they would get a surprise round. I thought about asking the question as well but I saw the initiative rolls and noted that all of us were going first so the idea that some of us opened fire and that I then teleported would still be there. This isn't I complaint I think I as a player might have misunderstood or been unclear.

Thanks for posting your take on this.
I assumed that the 'deception' was going to take more than one round (at least two rounds). So the deception worked for the first round and I then asked you what you wanted to do for the second round, where you were still far away from the snare site.
I gave you two options: a) double move but 'maybe' get shot at or b) single move and then use your cape to disappear thus not taking any shots.
I think you chose option b) and so here we are.

That makes sense and that is the choice I made. So we are we are. I hadn't made the connection that it was too soon for what I was intending. After having read Turn 246. I think I interpreted it as I had found them tricked them and started leading them back I was thinking that was over a minute or so of bobbing an running and weaving through the woods. That was why my following post narrated that kind of movements out. I added the deception check because the way you had narrated my actions called for one. I think I failed to understand the space/action economy involved without the map I thought it was more freeform. Sorry guys.
