Massielo, can we say your character meets up with Tristan when we return from the watch house instead?

![]() |

If you wish...

Fred Junior |

Ok. I think that I done did the Treasure Sheet correctly? Junior, any bets?
I see gold and carry capacities in the right spots but no starting gear listed. You also added an image, so there is that.
Mioki can you put the link in the campaign short description or your byline, or both so we can easily get to it? Thanks.

Greta Gyllenhår |

So, my post glosses over a lot of stuff, but it should be enough to get me (and any of my new associates who don't get a chance to post in time) to the square by noon.

Benedic |

I did the same @Greta, I assumed that Massielo eventually happened upon Tristan and promised to sit with him at the ceremony the following day. Hope that works for everyone!

I now have the 'Language Guide' and the 'Loot Sheet' in the Campaign Description. Great work on these!
Also, really great posts for introductions and to make the world and characters come alive. I believe in rewarding players for putting in the time and effort to make a great game for all. Everyone gets an additional Hero Point.
I am working on the initial post now. I thought I would be further along, but the end of the work-week was a bear. Give me an hour or so, and it should be up.
I might let you play, if you want, without posting more until tomorrow night. We finally have a beautiful weekend here, and the Stay-at-Home orders have been partially lifted. I really need to stretch my legs and hit the trail for my own mental health.
Cheers!

Tristan de Lion |

Agreed! Tristan is ready! At least as ready as an 18 year old can be...lol.
Thank you all for allowing Tristan into this heroic endeavor!

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Thanks! I’ll try and post up again later today, but it is finally nice outside and need to get some yard work done

Selann Juris |

Yard work!?! Now I remember why I like the townhouse that I'm in! Someone else can do the yard work. I can go outside for a nice walk and ignore the yard! I did have to trim my rose bush though!

Benedic |

I admire y'all's ambition. I don't think I've left the house except to drive to the grocery store and back for like six weeks.

Greta Gyllenhår |

I’m still working too, though I’m able to do a lot of my job from home right now. That said, today was a rough one work-wise, I’ll try to get a post up later but I still have a lot of work to get through tonight.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

I'm working from home, I've been lucky that I've only had to go in to work three times since the middle of March.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

And I go outside for a few hours, and look at all that happened! Now we're in the bottom of a cavern after demons overran Kenabres... Hoooo boy.

Tristan de Lion |

Now, this spell will be in my repertoire at later levels! Who wants Improved Critical feat? The 4th level version, of course.

Benedic |

Oh yay, I forgot about that one-- wrath is a super exciting spell, Tristan! At later levels it might compete a bit with heroism but just because another spell's morale bonus is bigger doesn't mean that Improved Critical won't totally come in handy!
We divine casters should all put our heads together when choosing spells, to make sure we don't overlap too much. Benedic can change his spells each day, but Massielo and Tristan are mostly stuck with whatever they choose, at least between swap levels.

Greta Gyllenhår |

Just finished work for the day... (I'm in the eastern US, so it's like 1:30 in the morning). Should have a post up pretty soon. Sorry for the delay.

GM Mioki |

Just a few thoughts:
Since this AP is popular, has everyone played through this early section? If so, I was thinking of switching things up to keep you on your toes and keep you guessing.
Also, some NPC's will be introduced shortly. I am going to slow things down for introductions. I want to attempt to find their individual voices just in case they play a bigger role later in the AP. You all seem to enjoy dialogue, so hopefully this is not an issue.
Cheers!

It's been 4 years, so I wouldn't remember...lol.
Also, I need to exchange my Weapon Focus feat, because I forgot you need BaB +1!
Most likely, pick up Dodge.

Benedic |

I don't mind if you want to change things. It's been several years since I ran it (and the group didn't even make it to second level), so I might remember some things (that there are NPCs, for example) but I'm trying to ignore those memories and enjoy the story as it unfolds. :) So if you do change things, that will be fun but probably won't make much of a difference! :)

Benedic |

@Tristan: Are you soliciting suggestions for a good 1st-level feat to take in place of Weapon Focus? Have you considered Divine Fighting Technique (Iomedae's Inspiring Sword)?

Selann Juris |

I've played the game once. We did make it back to the surface, but I think the GM skipped a lot. And it died almost immediately after getting to the surface. That was several years ago and not anything that I remember.
That said, please add your own interpretations to the game. It will make it more fun for everyone!

Tristan de Lion |

@Bendic I did see that Feat. Thank you! Really bummed about WF actually. I am attempting to shore up his 3/4 BaB. I made him MAD, because I see him as a "support" character. I wanted him to cover a lot of bases, as a Secondary role.
Dodge should still work for some Tanking. AC 19 and AC 21 with Shield of Faith makes him a Tank...lol.

Benedic |

If you're planning to tank, maybe Heavy Armor Proficiency would serve you better than Dodge?
I wouldn't worry too much about his BAB. Whenever I've played inquisitors, I found that with judgments and bane I never had any problem hitting anything. :)

Please feel free to change whatever you see fit! I think when i played this before we made it to level 2...

![]() |

Well, I've never played this nor heard anything about the story. In fact, I'd appreciate if no one spoke stuff about what happens, such as coming back to the surface. Feel free to change whatever you like, I'm sure it will be a blast!
@Tristan: TBH, I agree with Benedic about Heavy Armor Proficiency. I have to say something and I hope I'm not stepping out of bounds. Your stats bothered me a bit, as you invested a bit too much on WIS. You don't need that much. If you exchange your STR with it, you'll hit more often and harder too. You can put a point in WIS it at level 8 and the other 2 points required for high level casting could be achieved with magical items.
In fact, I believe that your known spells could change a bit too. So you can trade Remove Fear with Divine Favor. Now RF is useful, but probaly not at so low levels, and also I and Benedic will probably be casting it at some point. And since you'll possibly be casting spells in melee, Combat Casting sure could get some attention. Anyway, just my 2c, but build your character as you like, of course. The important thing is to have fun with him.

Tristan de Lion |

While I was thinking about a character for this, I was paying attention to what you guys brought to the table. I didn't want to step on toes; but, you were a bit short on skills and Wisdom.
I really like the Inquisitor (I actually have a Sanctified Slayer 11 for PFS). We didn't need more Strength or Charisma (congrats to all you good-looking crusaders) and I figured Tristan to be a bit of a Jack-of-All trades type. Besides, with all the buffs coming in our next few levels, I am happy with his stats.
I am considering Mobility late, so Dodge is a safer pick at 1st...at 8th he gets Martial Versatility--sort of.
I actually wouldn't mind if I could pick 2 different known spells?

Greta Gyllenhår |

The one time I played this AP the whole first (and only) session was the festival. I think we fought one minor demon when the attack happened and then we ended the session with falling in the pit. So I also won’t even know if you change anything.

I am thinking that Fireball formation may not be a bad idea...lol.
Lots of fun stuff with Teamwork Feats!

Fred Junior |

While we're thinking of the future, are there any rage powers people want me to take? Was thinking quick reflexes and eventually unexpected strike. Lesser spirit totem is almost too good to give up, even though it will occasionally heal the bad guys.
I will also pick up Flexible Fury for that one time when everyone needs raging swimmer stat.

Benedic |

@Junior: It's a great combo to take Lesser Celestial Totem and path of glory, and greater path of glory later. The other powers in the Celestial Totem line are really good too, especially vs evil outsiders. That combination also means you don't have to take Skald's Vigor or Improved Skald's Vigor, since they don't stack but you really don't need them to. In fact, you might find that you don't have to take path of glory yourself, since I bet some of us who are also divine casters could pick up the slack for you there. :)
I have planned out a lot of Benedic's build, or at least what I think will be a good build subject to what I see everyone else doing. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't looked at the mythic rules and wants to be surprised by how they work, but something it is worth thinking about as we go is how our mythic paths will affect our regular character features. A lot of my plans involve specific synergy between the two, and as such it might be difficult for some of us to fit in extra things like Teamwork feats. (I know, I know, they are really strong, and yet no one ever takes them unless they are an inquisitor or a cavalier.) That feat is great, @Tristan-- maybe you can get the coordinated effort spell and share it with us that way?

Benedic |

Oh by the way, @Tristan: The War domain's 1st level power (Battle Rage) is kind of weak, in my opinion-- it only works on another character, because it is a standard action to use and only lasts 1 round, so if you use it on yourself it only affects attacks of opportunity. Also, it's just a minor boost to damage, which might easily miss.
However, the Tactics subdomain of War (which Iomedae grants) has an excellent 1st level power called Seize the Initiative that might be worth considering! It lets one PC roll twice and take the best result. That's really, really nice! Initiative totally wins battles.

Greta Gyllenhår |

I was planning on taking lesser celestial totem myself (my archetype lets me trade out some bloodrage powers for rage powers), but it might still be worth thinking about. With a dedicated healer (and only 1 full BAB party member) reckless abandon could be good too?

Tristan de Lion |

Oh wow! I really like that Tactician Subdomain! It actually fits him better. I didn't look at Subdomains.
What do you think GM?
And, yes, I am planning on using that spell to share Teamwork Feats.

Benedic |

@Greta, that would be really smart for you to have the rage powers yourself, because if you are using your bloodrage instead of the inspired rage from the skald (so that you can use your bloodrager powers, for example), you wouldn't get to use his rage powers.

Greta Gyllenhår |

I’m definitely taking it for myself. I meant it might still be worth him taking it even though I have it (I don’t know who all will regularly accept the rage since everyone else is a caster, so I’m not sure how he’s going to evaluate what’s worth it).

GM Mioki |

Oh wow! I really like that Tactician Subdomain! It actually fits him better. I didn't look at Subdomains.
What do you think GM?
I think I am going to need some bigger demons. :)
We'll just have to figure out how you want to assign the extra initiative roll before I make the rolls.

Benedic |

The characters can decide every round whether they want to accept an inspired rage or not, so if one of us is planning to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability that round, we just don't accept the rage that round. And fortunately channeling, judgment, bane, most oracle revelations, and many domain powers are all supernatural abilities and not spell-like abilities, which means they don't require concentration and can be used while raging. :)

Hello Everyone,
I thought I would get a post up tonight, but I am just out of gas. I did get a map together, though. It should be at the top of the page, marked slides. You all should be able to access it. The map is a bit blurry, but should fit our purposes. Note that each square is 10 ft.
I have icons for the three injured people you have not met yet, and I put Benedic up as well, before I realized I need to crash. If everyone could try and access and put their icons on there and adjust to scale, that would be great.
Cheers!
