Finally bloody finished updating Pru’s character sheet!
Haven’t put Mafdet’s stats in yet, but everything else is (hopefully) done.
Included background, description, links to pics of her and her equipment, and some info on some of her abilities for ease of reference.
Took me damn well long enough!

One of the things I am struggling with at the moment is the decision I made to create a PC who is a white police officer, and whether I have adequately taken into account the considerable baggage that comes along with that. While he is clearly an outsider with regard to his brethren for all sorts of reasons (not least of which are his background in the occult and his experiences as a gay man), I plan to keep a close eye on the way the police background manifests in his interactions. I want to make sure his police persona is not some sort of Hollywood glorification of an idealistic "rookie cop", which is a trope that can seep into things very easily if I let myself get lazy.
In all likelihood, this will be background information - he is well out of his jurisdiction, and the very nature of a campaign like this will put him outside the expectations of a police department. But this issue has been glaring at me the last several days and I want to make sure I am not contributing to harmful cultural narratives.
I had a thought to revising his entire backstory, but I invested a lot of creative energy into it and I would rather see if I can adapt it in a socially responsible way rather than throw it out entirely. Feedback is welcome.

Geez, I didn't even connect your character with the unrest and the toxic US police culture. Durp.
That might be why he was so willing to accept a weird invitation. If he was one of those kids whose dream was to be a policeman but found the culture not what he wanted, he might be looking for a way to serve without the baggage of being a cop. That, plus his obvious 'weird' talents and his supernatural bent, might be a driver for him to find a better way, as it were.
My main client's stepson is a new officer, and I think he's struggling a lot with it. I'm sure many others are, too. You are certainly a thoughtful enough person and good enough RP'er to work the current situation into Nace's and make it part of who he is and what he does.
Conflict makes a character interesting and builds their personality, as well as giving them a development arc. I wouldn't cancel Nace's backstory at this point. I vote use it, not lose it.

Very true. And him not being in his home jurisdiction definitely helps. No real chance of abuse of power to a harmful degree.
His interaction with the...less than legal things some of us do might be another story.

My girlfriend is asleep beside me and I had to stifle a laugh. It was not easy, but preferable to death.

Nace chuckles at the remark about the Mystery Van. ”Would I be Fred? Because I left all my silk scarves at home.”
It’s funny you should say that. Maybe Pru should wear her Tank Top to breakfast in the morning. :D

Lol. You’ll probably get a kick out of this story:
So, I was talking with my daughter. She wants me to go camping with her and her family. I agree and let her handle the details. She comes up with a cabin in NH. ... about a half hour from the supposed location of Halifax.
I’m kinda stoked. I hope I can visit the area to soak in some atmosphere
