Not being a bit much at all. Hm. As an elf, he might take direction from the Qualinesti throne; you might be up here originally intending to take a look at the work that Theros Ironfeld is doing (which was in part Gilthanas' work). As a wizard, independent of the crown, he might be investigating Abanasinia -- particularly Haven, Solace, and Gateway -- with concerns about the whole 'Seeker' theocracy. Gilthanas, however, hasn't studied magic, and won't until well into the Age of Mortals; for now, he's just a fighter. (Info on Gilthanas being culled from here.)
And you definitely need to reveal what your entire spellbook is!! :D Gotsta find out what spells we can trade!!

I realized a couple days ago that I forgot to put a map or 7 in my inventory. I was going to ask the DM if I could update. At the time I thought it was likely to be just flavor. Oops. At the time I thought it would be a fun in-character thing to be on the lookout for maps and such.

Once we get one in-game we can put it in google docs and we can both edit it.
If we want to get really crazy we can do a full journal that way and you can write in the journal and Bander can add color commentary.

Hmmm. I have never done a shared doc before online. It should be interesting.
I like this map it doesn't have a lot of detail. So we could add more to it as we learn.

Here is a pretty detailed one its pretty high res. But its not a player map.
Its not as good as the one in the Tas's Map Pouch pack but that file is huge and I can't get it to load to Imgur to share.

Note put on one of the sheets. Simple map would be a good one to annotate.
The distance across the lake is about two miles; that distance is rowable by an athletic woman not specialized in it in about 30-40 minutes (speaking from witnessed experience). With two strong people at the oars, it should be less, but balancing it out with a bigger boat carrying more (and bigger) people, 30m seems about right; Wikipedia's article suggests a speed of 3.5-4.5 mph, the average of which would put it at 4 mph, accomplishing 2 miles in 30m. So we should be getting there soon. ;)

Yep. The map. Sorry.
Re: Map scales
I keep forgetting how small Ansalon is. I thought it was bigger than that by an order of magnitude.

You should have your first combat encounter when you get across the lake. With draconians.
Note you are heading in the wrong direction, so I have to improvise. Crystal Lake is West of Solace, which would mean that it's on the opposite direction than Xak Tsaroth.

True. Not that the adventure or your version of it has to follow the same plot. The companions (in the cartoon and I think the book) cross the lake and encounter draconians on the road and then flee into Darken Woods. Before they start to head to Xak Tsaroth directly.
For us heading to Haven or Qualinost might be the way to go because we are seeking information where Xak Tsartoth is located.

@Kalisuel did you get a look at the test journal. Did you have something else in mind. My first thought was just a Google Doc but the Slides allowed for the old papa background. Once I did that I ran it some cool journal covers.
Did you have a different shared journaling option?
If you liked the one I put together take a look at the different pages and give a suggestion on paper such.

We won't mess it up. Don't worry.
Even if we choose to go North toward the barbarians or South toward Haven. We will still be west of the lake on the road near Haven. So unless we get really tricky its likely still ahead of us.

The other elf wizard Kali knows was a Silvanesti. So far Thalasi is more likable than he was.

And all things considered ... I'm starting to suspect Peregrine is going to be a black robe far sooner than Raistlin was. Maybe before we get to Xak Tsaroth. ;P Though y'know, it probably would be considered justifiable homicide ...
Seriously, though, you might consider making Thalasi less 'total uptight prick to rival the Kingpriest' and more 'willing to work with others and striving for the good of magic and of his people'.
Or, y'know, a Black Robe.

Oh. Well, I just gave him a ridiculous hairstyle. I'm probably going to be abusing Prestidigitation a lot for various things like this and other pranks.
Probably not the wisest move, but I and Kali thought it was worth it.

Slam punched a hole in the boat to hide it. He's trying to obscure their tracks as much as possible and sinking the boat is a good way to do so.
I think that the two of us know that. I'm also pretty sure that Peri was intending for the boat to be found by the owner since we just kinda grabbed it and rowed.

I'm not sure how the dm wants to run focused v. Innate spells. Per the Canon bards cast arcane spells with no healing and their magic is the magic of chaos, the same with sorcerers who do not exist at the time until after the chaos war. Either way they would be considered a threat to high aoecery and would be deemed renegades.

Doubly funny that she's LN. :P
Also, thanks for stepping in like that, Slam.
Re: Bard Magic
If that's the case, then why didn't the GM veto my spell choice? I picked up CLW to help with the healing situation. I can see them being renegades, but again, I don't think Kali would have had an opportunity to learn this seeing as she kept it hidden until just now out of habit from when she was a child.
