Makras Vekker
|
Makras shrugs and swings at the last target.
Attack roll (exhausted): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage (exhausted): 1d6 ⇒ 5
| GM Nowruz |
Torku and Korum finish off the last Aspis while Makras's aim was a little off.
Doran moves forward to confront Shinri and sees her unarmored and unarmed.
She starts concentrating with a visual sparkle appearing around her and then starts walking up along the walls and then the ceiling into the room drawing shurikens along the path.
The ceiling is 20 ft high.

Bold may go!
Torku
|
”Shit.” Torku sheathes his rapier and pulls out a crossbow from across his back as he steps closer to the corner of the crates. ”Time to show us what that gun can do,” he snarls at Vulpina, digging through his pack for a bolt.
Lady Vulpina
|
Vulpina walks forward as the bosslady skitters up the wall.
"I cannot promise it will be as impressive as dear Loam's blast," she admits, "but I am happy to demonstrate my own prowess."
She raises a fresh pistol:
KRAK
Pistol Attack vs. Shinri (Touch): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Damage + Deadly Aim + Focused Aim: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Solid!
As always: dodging if possible.
...Though I'm running low on Grinache.
Loam Yin
|
Loam hurries over from the corner, getting ready to shoot. "I can try to dislodge her. Some of you would likely prefer that."
Double move. I can't find anything ruling against it, but are there any objections to grease on a ceiling?
| GM Nine-Tuiles |
are there any objections to grease on a ceiling?
That is delightfully devious. Loam is my new favorite!
Korum of the Silver-Eyed Wolf
|
Korum stalks forward. "By the petals of the Eternal Rose, I call on your strength in this time of need! Come Shinri, surrender of face judgement."
Swift Action to Smite Evil, Move to Move, Standard to Move
If she falls from the ceiling...
AoO {Smite/reach}: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
If she is Shinri is evil, my armor improves to an AC 22
Lady Vulpina
|
Just throwing this out there: would you say a creature freefalling from the ceiling would be able to apply their DEX modifier to their AC against, say, Korum's AoO? Just asking ;)
Makras Vekker
|
Hearing the sounds of more bloodshed, Makras moves into the room.
double-move
| GM Nowruz |
Shinri shrugs off the bullet that hit her and walks along the ceiling to stand on one of the crates near Loam.
She hits Loam with all she has in the face!
Stunning Fist, higher ground: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 2 + 1 = 291d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
@Korum: DC 17 Fort save or be stunned for one round.
Who to attack,left to right? 1=Loam, 2=Makras, 3=Doran, 4= Vulpina, 5=Korum: 1d5 ⇒ 1
Torku
|
”That works too.”
Torku glides across the floor like a shadow, crossbow held loosely in one hand and his rapier drawn again in the other. He jabs at the lone agent, but his balance is disrupted by the crossbow’s weight.
Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Piercing damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Loam Yin
|
Should I be making the save? If so...
Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Loam manages to keep her balance, but all for naught! A second later she is on the ground in a pool of blood.
Stabilize on my turn: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 1 = 17
Lady Vulpina
|
Vulpina strides across the room, grimacing as a quick punch makes Loam's rodent jaw move in a way that it probably shouldn't.
She hops up onto the crate, dropping her pistol so her free hand can help her vault upward. As she enters melee range, she lashes out with her blade:
Wakizashi Attack + Flanking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 = 21
Piercing Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
| GM Nowruz |
After seeing Loam being hit so hard in the face and dropping to the ground the group is now ambushing this unarmed woman with dark skin, green eyes and an unbelievable energy!
Vulpina Acrobatics: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Vulpina, jumpin up 5 ft is a DC 20 Acrobatics which you did not make. You can still attack but I moved you to the position on the map that you would be in.
Vulpina cannot make the jump up but she nonetheless slashes with her Wakizashi but notices that an invisible barrier prevents the attack from connecting!
Also Doran, Korum and Torku all try to hit Shinri but are not successful to penetrate her armor and her dodging form.
Who to attack? 1=Torku, 2=Vulpina: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Suddenly, Shinri moves a Mantis style move and starts to attack Vulpina who shot her earlier and also hits her in the face and follows with another kick that hits Vulpina in the chest!
Unarmed attack, stunning fist, higher ground: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 + 1 = 281d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
DC 17 Fort save or stunned for 1 round Vulpina!
Unarmed attack, higher ground: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 1 = 201d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Unarmed attack, higher ground: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 = 131d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Vulpina is also staggered!
Initiative round 6

Loam, -23

Torku, -5

Shinri
Bold may go!
Lady Vulpina
|
Those second two are going to be nullified-- Dodging Panache takes me out of their reach unless she 5-foot steps after me, in which case she'll also be dropping off of the crate. Regardless, though, that first one's going to hit:
Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
............and be a problem.
Torku
|
Torku jabs his rapier at the woman's leg. "Get her down on the ground and surrounded," he barks. As if it has a mind of its own, his tail grabs the burnt stick from his belt and passes it to the hand recently emptied of the crossbow that now lies on the ground.
If Shinri does follow Vulpina and leave the crate, he'll move into a flanking position with someone. @GM, you'll have to add the bonus to his roll if that happens.
Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Piercing damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Crit damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Standard to attack, free to drop crossbow, swift to retrieve wand thanks to Prehensile Tail. If she takes to the ceiling once more, he'll start the process of waking Loam back up. And possibly Vulpina, if things continue going south.
Makras Vekker
|
Makras shouts up at the woman, "Death comes for all . . . but sooner for you, I think." He laughs uproariously at his own strange joke.
I'm going to try my Antagonize feat. I make an Intimidate check vs. DC of 10+target's HD+target's Wisdom modifier. If I succeed, she flies into a rage on her next turn and has to attack me (or cast a harmful spell that includes me in the area of effect).
Diplomacy: You fluster your enemy. For the next minute, the target takes a –2 penalty on all attacks rolls made against creatures other than you and has a 10% spell failure chance on all spells that do not target you or that have you within their area of effect.
Intimidate: The creature flies into a rage. On its next turn, the target must attempt to make a melee attack against you, make a ranged attack against you, target you with a spell, or include you in the area of a spell. The effect ends if the creature is prevented from attacking you or attempting to do so would harm it (for example, if you are on the other side of a chasm or a wall of fire). If it cannot attack you on its turn, you may make the check again as an immediate action to extend the effect for 1 round (but cannot extend it thereafter). The effect ends as soon as the creature attacks you. Once you have targeted a creature with this ability, you cannot target it again for 1 day.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Enough of this crap!Doran yells as he strides forward and in one smooth motion draws his sword and brings it down in a vicious arc.
attack: 1d20 + 9 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 1 + 1 = 161d8 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 145ft step, draw and swing. studied target as a move...using power attack...on phone can soneone move me please?..ty
| GM Nowruz |
Korum's blade is so sharp and strong that when he hits Shinri she almost drops from the crate.

Lady Vulpina, my understanding would be that unfortunately due to the failed save you do not move as dodging panache says: "This movement doesn’t negate the attack, which is still resolved as if the swashbuckler had not moved from the original square." So if you are hit before you can move but are stunned because of the attack then the other attacks hit you while you are still in your original square. And if that is the case then you were stunned for the second and third attack and both hit your FF AC so you would be hit by the third attack AC 13 and be at -6 HP, prone and dying now. :-(
Vulpina is hit by the first unarmed strike and is immediately stunned which enables Shinri to hit her two more times with a kick and a punch! The Tian woman's unconscious body drops to the ground!
* * *
Torku's Rapier hits Shinri's leg but she can move away so he does not hit a critical spot.

Shinri looks at Makras and a small smile on her face shows that she is not affected by his tempting words at all!
Makras, I am super sorry but I missed you on the last turn so you still have an action in this turn!

Doran unfortunately misses Shinri!

Makras staggers forward, stopping once or twice to catch his breath.
Double-move gets me up to the crate.
| GM Nowruz |
The hit that she had to endure from Torku who is standing next to her hurt Shinri!
In her Mantis style she attacks Torku with a punch that hits his face and she follows with three kicks that completely knock Torku out!
Unarmed attack flurry, stunning fist, mantis wisdom, higher ground: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 2 + 1 = 291d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Torku, DC 17 Fort save or stunned for 1 round!
Unarmed attack flurry , higher ground: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 1 = 281d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Unarmed attack flurry secondary, higher ground: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 91d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
KI spent for additional Unarmed attack, higher ground: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 1 = 231d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Torku is lying on the ground and is bleeding! A look from you already shows that he is near death!
Very sorry Torku. :-( Please make a stabilization roll.
Doran Therinor

Makras, Korum...tend to the fallen ones...I'll deal with her. Doran shouts as he swings his weapon again, desperate to bring her down.

Stabilization: 1d20 ⇒ 6
"Ow."
Vulpina has the Never Stop Shooting trait......
....................but given the proximity, I think she's just gonna lay down.
Torku
|
The woman’s fist punches through a hard barrier before reaching the tiefling. Using two points of Focus to activate Mind Barrier as an immediate action.
Fortitude vs DC 17: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Unfortunately, it is not enough to prevent Torku’s collapse under the onslaught of blows. His wand clatters to the ground next to him, as does his blade.
Stabilize vs DC 13: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
So unconscious and stable. If someone can use Torku’s wand to start waking people up, that might help swing the tide back in our favor.
Makras Vekker
|
Makras swings his heavy pick at the woman. He then grunts and backs off.
Attack (exhausted): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage (exhausted): 1d6 ⇒ 5
Edit: It looks like she moved a square to the side, out of the range of his attack--GM, if you want to just treat that as a readied action to attack if she comes adjacent?
| GM Nowruz |
The invisible barrier that Torku created was so important! Also his bleeding miraculously stops.
Makras, that is a mistake with the placement. Moved it back.
Doran unfortunately misses! Also Makras misses and moves back.
Initiative round 7
Vulpina, -41, prone, dying, stabilization roll needed

Korum of the Silver-Eyed Wolf

"Sorry lady, but stealin' knowledge don't actually make you that good. You want to prove yourself? Stop fighting combat dabblers and come after a professional."
Glaive {SMITE/reach}: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Damage: 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Reminder: Smite Evil bypasses DR. AC to Shinri is 22
Lady Vulpina
|
”You would steal the last bite and claim to have consumed the entire cake, dear Korum,” protests Vulpina from the floor.
Never Stop Shooting only allows me to stay conscious in order to shoot, but I’m going to claim “shooting my mouth off” counts ;D
Korum of the Silver-Eyed Wolf
|
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The last bite? But I already...grr. Doesn't she ever shut up?
With more ire than he intends, "What's that your V-ness? I couldn't understand you with all those floorboards in your mouth. Interesting technique you have, letting her wear herself out like that. I'm sure her knuckles are all bruised from your face."
Korum of the Silver-Eyed Wolf
|
"Because you lack faith. A lesson for the next life." Placing his glaive against her neck, the paladin calls upon an inner reserve of divine energy.
Pally channel: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
No Selective Channel, so I want to make certain Shinrin doesn't spring back into action. Not looking to kill her, just threaten her if she heals to positive.
Torku
|
"Sure, offer her a second chance to slit all our throats," Torku mutters as he picks himself up off the floor. "Truly an act of mercy." It is clear from his tone that, in these circumstances, he is equating "mercy" with "idiocy". Grabbing his charred stick, the tiefling looks at Markas. "Can you stabilize her without giving her a third opportunity to demonstrate her 'mercy'?" He pulls a rope out of his pack and tosses it at the half-orc.
Korum of the Silver-Eyed Wolf
|
Not everyone's throat ya thankless wretch!
An annoyed sigh and accompanying eye roll are followed with a shake of his head. "Well Torku, if only your leadership style didn't require you to lay in a pool of your own blood. Maybe you could have provided some of the fantastic insight. Next time be sure to leave a set of directions before you check out. Sure would be helpful." He kicks the tangle of rope back toward the telling, "Yeah, why don't you get right on that?"
He holds a hand out to help Vulpina up. With genuine concern, "Are you alright?" He leans in a little closer to whisper, "I didn't think I was one to say 'I told you so', but apparently I am."
Doran Therinor
|
Doran quickly makes sure the rest of the party is stable before checking on Shinri.
heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
He then binds her hands and feet.
I'll be damned if I'm taking anymore chances with her...
Torku
|
”I’ll be sure to mention your exceptional bravery in the report,” Torku replies. ”Such valiant posturing from the back lines. They’ll be writing songs in your honor, and only performing them on cramped rowboats where nobody can sleep while you stare at the water with the blank stare of a fish instead of helping.” The tiefling could his rope back up and helps Doran with the knots. ”Why don’t you go demonstrate some more superb leadership skills over there?”
No hard feelings here, Korum - and let me know if Torku’s going to far and he’ll fall into sullen silence easily. Really glad we got her down before she knocked out a fourth person.
