When Vulpina draws and shoots only the Boggards and Makras are surprised!!
All PCs except of Makras make a surprise round action! Only standard or move action in surprise round.

Loam heaves a sigh at the transpiring events, despite not having tried hard to change them. "I see little reason to doubt you, Doran. I am glad you are here. I hope you have brought a moral compass as well, for we may be lacking." She trains her gun on a boggard, but waits to shoot.
Sacrificing Silent Image to make my gun +2. I will ready to shoot Green should they move forward or take offensive action.

Torku taps his rapier against his arm, and a translucent disk blossoms from where the blade touches his armor.
Casting shield. GM, what's the terrain like as far as movement penalties?

Flinching at the gun's rapport, Korum nearly drops his blade. However, he recovers quickly and slashes at the nearest boggart.

Vulpina's shot leads to a fight! Her first shot hits the green skinned boggard.
Also Loam's shot hits the same boggard and Korum's glaive also cuts into the green skinned Boggard.
You realise that these two boggards are surprised but have an uncanny dodging ability.
The bulbous eyes of the boggards glare atop these creatures' decidedly toad-like head with anger. A multitude of warts and bumps decorate their greenish skin which are now bursting when they start to act.
Round 1

Torku wades through the swampy water to the boggarts. ”Idiots who don’t know when to cut their loses and run,” he grumbles, jabbing with his blade.

Hoping to quickly finish what she started, Vulpina steps forward and lashes out with her small blade:
Wakizashi Attack, Piranha Strike, Precise Strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Wakizashi Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
"I have made a few adjustments to my technique!" she muses, "See how the little blade slices so?"
If Torku kills Green, I'll stand on Green to attack Purple :P

Makras Vekker

"Day passes after day, and in time all shall rot and fade into forgotten nothingness!" Despite understanding little of the dwarf's words, the boggards feel nervous.
Casting bane to give the boggards a -1 on attack rolls and saves vs fear effects. They each get a DC 12 Will save to counteract the effect.

            1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 231d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Makras realises that both boggards seem unaffected!
Both boggards now steps forward and suddenly their tounges try to grab Vulpina and Torku!
Tounge touch Torku : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Tounge touch Vulpina : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Vulpina feels the tounge around her! -2 AC vs. the boggard and cannot move more then 10 ft away.
Both boggards hit hard and Vulpina and Torku feel the greatclubs smash against their body!
mwk greatclub Torku : 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 311d10 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Vulpina oofs as the huge club hits her; she stumbles and shakes her head.
From now on, Vulpina will use Dodging Panache if targeted! +4AC and a free 5 foot movement (NOT a 5-foot step) in the direction of her choice.

Torku

”Well don’t just stand there drooling,” Torku snaps at the newcomer. ”You say you’re here to help, then help.” He concentrates first a moment, the lunges forward again - the tip of the blade aiming for one of the boggart’s oversized eyes.
Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Piercing damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Still attacking Green. Torku also uses a point of Focus to activate Mind Barrier (absorbs 8 damage taken before next turn).

Loam Yin

Loam steps around the melee and aims her gun again. From it blasts a stream of blinding light, angled to miss her allies' shielded eyes.

            Will saves, green, purple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
The two boggards are completely overwhelmed by the color spray and are stunned! They both drop their greatclubs.
A stunned creature drops everything held, can’t take actions, takes a –2 penalty to AC, and loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any).
Attackers receive a +4 bonus on attack rolls to perform combat maneuvers against a stunned opponent.

Makras advances slowly through the bog, whistling a strange tune with his miner's pick at the ready!

Torku, Korum and Doran all hit hard and connect! And the green skinned Boggard drops to the ground with the last strike! The more orange looking Boggard is still stunned but you see that this state will surely not remain for long.
@VULPINA, you are up. @Korum: The boggards have an ability to be unaffected by the difficult terrain and they 5 ft stepped so no AoO. @Makras: That is indeed a wall.
@ALL: You are up again as the Boggard cannot act. So Vulpina please act twice.

and sighs as her blade hits air. "Again!"
Wakizashi, flanking: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Loam gives Makras a wary look. She reloads her gun with a bullet, but shoots ice from it instead of deafening her teammates.

As Korum's glaive starts swinging from above, Vulpina takes a dainty step behind Doran, keeping the bulk of the gore from ruining her apparel.
"I daresay we've sorted that as well as we might," she says, sighing as she pulls a wand into her hand. "Korum, would you terribly mind...?"
She offers the wand to him.
It's CLW, btw. She has a half-decent chance of using it herself via UMD... but that's better saved for emergencies.

Torku, meanwhile, wipes his blade off on the intact boggart’s clothes before sheathing it. ”Hey Sunshine, make yourself useful and activate this,” he says, handing Markus a gnarled blackened branch.
Wand of infernal healing. If we have two minutes, two charges should fix Torku up nicely.

As you have dealt with the two boggards you move to the entrance of the building and you see that the swamp has completely taken over this part of the ancient city, and nearly all that remains are piles of rubble and a few sections of wall that haven't quite fallen yet.
Only a single building remains mostly intact, with a set of stairs leading up from the water to a pair of double doors that are slightly ajar.
This entire area is flooded to a depth of one foot, but angles slightly down as one area has sunk further in; the far side of the intact building goes down to nearly four feet.
Peering in through the doors, you see the remains of a small entry hall.
There are doors to either side, and the wall between them has partially collapsed, creating a narrow passage.
You hear a voice calling from further inside. "No, please, I am already hurt! Please don't kill me!"

            * * *
* * * INTERIOR OF THE BUILDING
* * *
When you are nearer you hear that the voice from inside stops crying and starts shouting.
GEORGE?! ROBERZEKY?! THAT YOU BOYS? I'M NOT DEAD YET! REEEEEALLY APPRECIATE SOME HELP! I KNEW YOU WOULDN'T LEAVE OLD GIDEON TO DIE! COME ON, HURRY UP, THIS IS RIGHT PAINFUL YOU KNOW!
You all enter and upon closer inspection, your team sees that the doors have already been broken open.
The most striking feature of this dilapidated chamber is the
immense portion of the ceiling that has collapsed onto the floor, destroying the walls as well as leaving a gaping hole to the outside. A stone table lies against the north wall, an iron cage stands in the northeast, and a decayed wooden desk rests in the southwest.
* * *
* * * A TRAPPED MAN
* * *
You see a sight no Pathfinder ever wants to see. A sprung trap, and the unfortunate soul who has sprung it. Luckily for said soul, he's still alive for the moment.
The man who is stuck in the trap grimaces as he sees the you but has hope in his eyes. He is clearly in pain.
The man seems to have two major problems at your initial glance.
First, he has somehow sunk into the floor up to his chest, the stone locking him tightly in place.
Second, a spring lock trap of spikes has triggered, ready to crush his upper body and head, but age must have slowed the trap, as the man has rammed his gauntleted fists into the gears of the mechanism, halting it from killing him.

Loam Yin

Loam sizes up the man, looking for any obvious signs of magic or Aspis allegiance. "Worry not, we don't mean to hurt you. What brought you here? I can only assume your friends have absconded." She also checks for a way to free him.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

"Huh." Torku crouches down to examine the mechanism. "This is certainly quite the mess you've gotten yourself into. So why don't you tell us who you are and why you're here." Hope he's worth the bother, the tiefling thinks darkly as he pulls out a discreet leather case of tools and gets to work.

From the sweat on the man's brow, you can tell that not only is this very painful, but he's having to forcefully hold the gauntlets in place as the gears are slowly crushing his hands through the steel of his gauntlets. His strength can't hold out forever.
Just a warning Torku ... the man is in a VERY precarious situation.

GM Nowruz

The human male is really half-buried in the stone floor, only his upper torso sticking up.
He has he arms held out to either side, holding back the trap from crushing him.
With a pained smile on his face, he quips ”Oh, hello there. You aren't the Aspis who I was expecting. Name's Gideon Wren. What brings you to my humble abode?“
He does not give you time to answer and continues.
"Well, it is a relief that you are here!! Are you one of the new groups that Shinri recruited recently? Never seen you before. I don't suppose you have a way of getting me out of the floor here? When we found this alcove, I pulled away the bookcase, and triggered some sort of multi-step trap that liquified the stone just long enough for me to fall halfway in, then tried to crush me. My companions took the valuables from within, then just left me here." he says with sadness in his eyes.

"Lucky for you, we're not Aspis at all. Seems you need some help. We may need something from you, so it looks like we are both in a position to help one another. So, before we do anything, what's yer freedom and ongoing ability to breathe worth to you?"

            It's gonna be both!
"Horrid," says Vulpina simply, stepping across as swiftly as she can without breaking into a trot as she kneels and tries to find the structural weaknesses of the trap's mechanics.

You suspect that the trap used some sort of stone-to-mud spell that was activated then immediately dismissed when Gideon triggered the trap.
Vulpina examines the structure of the area Gideon is in and determines that it would be possible to chip away at the stone with weapons or pieces of dropped stone, although more appropriate tools would definitely be faster.
@Vulpina: If anyone has tools or weapons appropriate to mining or digging, that will help. Adamantine would definitely be a plus. Various spells could potentially be helpful, so feel free to suggest things you might try.
As Korum tells Gideon that they are not Aspis he raises an eyebrow.
"I would, of course, be willing to pay you for a rescue - I know not everyone is as purely altruistic as I am. If you get me safely to Senghor, I may be able to provide you with information about a couple of business opportunities that you surely will have interest in..."
You also poke around the other chamber.
A stone table lies against the north wall, an iron cage stands in the northeast, and a decayed wooden desk rests in the southwest. It looks like it may once have been some sort of study or laboratory.

Doran grabs a piece of metal from his pack. It shifts in his grasp to the form of a pickaxe.I've got just the thing needed.... He then sets about freeing the man from his position.
Don't move... Doran says as he starts swinging away.

Makras activates the wand that Torku has given him and shrugs. "Best not to prolong the inevitable, fiend-spawn. But it makes no difference to me."
Looking over the trapped man, with his miner's pick resting comfortably on his shoulder, Makras appears serene. "Never seen a man about to die in this particular way before. Nice of fate to throw up some originality."

Using your tools, you set to freeing Gideon. Chipping away at the stone is hard work, and noisy.
Gideon looks at Makras who is slightly intimidating him. He lets the last of his false bravado go and says, "How about everything I know about the Aspis Consortium operation in Senghor, including the information on what we found here!? You surely are from another competing merchant faction but first you have to get me out of here! As soon as my feet are not on this isle anymore you will learn everything I know! I promise!"

            5d20 ⇒ (18, 14, 2, 20, 12) = 66
You can be glad that Torku’s initial talent disabled the trap. Gideon could have lost limbs otherwise... this becomes evident during your work.
It takes hours of smashing at his stone prison with tools, shards and spikes found in the area.
During this time, you can take turns resting and exploring the rest of the building, the only intact structure in the area. I assume you do that.
The most striking feature of the second chamber is the immense portion of the ceiling that has collapsed onto the floor, destroying the walls that once separated the various areas of this ruin, as well as leaving a gaping hole to the outside.
A stone table lies against the north wall, an iron cage stands in the northeast, and a decayed wooden desk rests in the southwest.
Perc(Torku): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Perc(Korum): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Perc(Loam): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Perc (Doran Therinor ): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Perc (Lady Vulpina): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Perc(Makras Vekker): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Loam and Vulpina notice that the stone table bears several channels carved into it along its edges, with strange symbols etched along their lengths.
Knowledge (arcana) to check the channels:
This chamber was likely some sort of arcane laboratory.
The equipment was likely used to study fiends, such as asuras, demons, and div.
Perc(Torku): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Perc(Korum): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Perc(Loam): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Perc (Doran Therinor ): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Perc (Lady Vulpina): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Perc(Makras Vekker): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
This time it is Torku that has keen eyes and notices that the steel cage is forged of cold iron and lined with alchemical silver.
Perc(Torku): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Perc(Korum): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Perc(Loam): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Perc (Doran Therinor ): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Perc (Lady Vulpina): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Perc(Makras Vekker): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Makras then detects a hidden compartment in the drawer.
The desk drawer contains a cold iron dagger, a wand, two flask of magic oil, and two flasks of a water-like liquid.

Once you finally have Gideon freed, you can tell he is severely injured. He has multiple broken bones in his hands, arms, and legs; his circulation has been constricted for some time; and he is completely exhausted. With help, he can walk, but he will not be able to defend himself (or cause trouble) for weeks, if not months.
Despite all of this, his natural bravado is evident once he is free, and he gives you a weak smile.
"Well! How about we make our way back to your boat and be on about returning to Senghor? Lovely city, no swamps or giant frogs anywhere about, eh?"

During the excavation:

"Well, I'm sure you'll think of a way to repay us," Torku replies dryly as he puts away his tools. "You've had lots of time to consider your allegiances to various other groups. Though why you would assume merchants to be exploring here of all places is beyond me. Use your head - who do you think we are?" Not bothering to wait for an answer, the tiefling walks away so the muscleheads of the party can get to work excavating.
Torku wouldn't be much help with the excavating, so he'd explore the rest of the building while the more-adept work.
Knowledge (arcana) vs DC 18: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
"A laboratory for studying evil extraplanar creatures," the tiefling explains brusquely as he works on unlocking the desk. "Note the use of both cold iron and silver to create a single cage effective against multiple types of outsiders. Efficient."
Assuming there's time for it, Torku will Take 20 on the lock for 31. Unfortunately, he does not have detect magic and will have to rely on others to identify the contents of the drawer.
After the excavation:
Torku merely raises an eyebrow. "By 'giant frogs', are you referring to the boggarts, or did your brilliant organization also manage to rile up something else here?"

Doran takes his turns at freeing Gideon. He checks out the area as he stretches his back and arms. He looks over his injuries after.
heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
You'll need a competent healer after this. I can splint those breaks, but you might have a lasting wound....not much I can do, I'm afraid... he says rather dispassionately.
Upon seeing the locked drawer, he smiles. I can pick that... he grins as he pats his crowbar.
str: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19will take 10 if needed
Eonder what these are.... pointing to the items in the drawer.
