Nalaia Mak'kaht |
"Piano's pretty big? Can you be any more specific?"
"Wait. Rossby! I have an idea. He can't see very far, so my Hypnotic Pattern will actually work pretty well in allowing us to regroup!"
If Nalaia gets more specifics on where the kobold is from Rossby, she'll cast Hypnotic Pattern to get the kobold and avoid the Pathfinder. DC 17. If not, she'll wait for a better idea.
Rossby Num |
"He's at the edge of the stage by the piano!"
That should be 2-3 squares and an appropriate scope for directions someone can give during combat.
Nalaia Mak'kaht |
If GM allows it, I'd aim for where I remember that, and a 10 foot burst should be plenty forgiving.
2d4 hit dice affected, all creatures count as 4 HD lower due to a Revelation: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
GM Hawthwile |
Rossby pulls out his hammer and strikes the very surprised kobold squarely in the shoulder, though the weapon bounces back with more force than he would expect from flesh and bone. The fighter's following bellow is quite intimidating, but the kobold seems unaffected.
Classic case of obscuring mist working against you just as much as it works for you, I'm afraid. The attack was against Kibizax's FF AC because he can't see you, but the demoralize attempt also fails because he can't see you.
Demoralize: You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target’s Hit Dice + the target’s Wisdom modifier. If you are successful, the target is shaken for 1 round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent in this way if they are within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition.
@Nalaia, that sounds fine. My only concern is that it's a 10 ft burst and Rossby's not that far away from the edge of the stage. That being said, you saw his location before he summoned the mist, so as long as he hasn't moved you should be able to aim to avoid him. In the future, an indication on the map of target location would be greatly appreciated.
Nalaia blankets a section of fog with subtly shifting lights...

What's the range on the dragon pistol? Is it so short that readying a shot isn't helpful? Without see invisibility, the only way to do this is for everyone to spread out, wait to see who he goes for next, and then use ranged weapons. As soon as I can take a hit without perma-dying, I'm going to ready a sling strike. You guys are also welcome to hide in the cloud while healing.
