If so, she chucks her spear into the new tunnel below and follows it down.
Nalaia Mak'kaht |
Unfortunately, this movement will once again dispel the moonlight bridge.
Nalaia steps forward as the boulder goes by, sighing in relief at having made it in time. She then marches forward and re-engages her moonlight bridge in (hopefully) a more opportune position. (I'm assuming that the acrobatics check is required if you are on regular ground when you take that first step past normal movement. If I'm mistaken, this doesn't really help...If I'm correct, Rossby and Igor should be able to double move without an acrobatics check because of the bridge.)
GM Hawthwile |
@Nalaia - that makes sense to me.
Gervase slips through the broken grate and descends into the darkness, her spear clattering on the curved edge of the pipe as it slopes inward beneath her. In the tunnel, Nalaia tries to help her slower allies catch up - though they wisely choose to wait for the bolder to pass before advancing further.

Botting Rami.
Seeing Gervase struggle to slip through the small opening, Rami grabs the grate and pulls it into the tunnel. The broken iron screeches on the scum-covered stone, but otherwise moves without protest. Carefully the investigator follows the ranger down the rope. Behind them, the boulder continues to roll past Rossby and Igor - though it seems to have spent most of its momentum and slowly comes to a halt.
Slight botting of Gervase and Rami.
Gervase continues following her spear down through the pipe, hands now covered in whatever fungi once grew upon the rope as she descends into a large room. The light from the wayfinder at her hip reveals it to be an overflow chamber from the sewers above. The majority of the room is filled with trash and debris that probably fell into the room from above. The water is knee-high on the outside of the room, but a mound of trash peaks in the center of the chamber a full five feet over the water line. Once Rami gets low enough, he notices seven more large openings in the ceiling in addition to the one he just came through, each one covered in filth and slime. Two grates lead to large drainpipes on the east and west sides of the chamber, but both appear to be secured in place - and both protect a familiar-looking kobold on the other side!
Lower chamber (where Gervase and Rami are) is entirely difficult terrain.

@Gervase - looks fine, but since you are targeting a square rather than a creature you wouldn't get the PBS bonus to damage (similar to how it doesn't add to an alchemist's splash damage). Does that make sense?
Also of note- there's no duration listed for that boon. But I'm certain that won't be a problem...*cue evil laughter*
Upstairs, Nalaia paves the way for Igor and Rossby to follow - which they gladly do. Botting Nalaia
Hearing Rami exclaim, Nalaia slogs over through the knee-deep refuse and pokes at the spot he points at with her spear. With a soft click, the locking mechanism disengages. Not expecting the sudden release, Gervase and Rossby SLAM the grate upward! On the other side, Gervase's brown mold chills the air in the low-ceilinged tunnel.
Sewer Scuffle!

Round #15: AC 20, antiplague, longstrider, ☤ 30/54 hp
"Nice work! I’m guessing there’s a similar pressure plate to release blue-eyes’ grate. It'd be nice to get Bluey tied up while s/he's out cold."
"Excuse me, while I find my melee weapons, peeps."
Gervase searches for her Lucerne hammer and club, which should be somewhere adjacent to her.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
If she spots her hammer, she’ll pick it up. If not and she finds her club, she’ll pick that up instead.
