REF DC 21: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
The construct jerks as the bolt strikes. However, the bolt does not strike the constructs body directly. Rather, it seems to play around some sort of invisible barrier a meter away from it, illuminating a sphere in crackling energy.
Avrahim swivels his large crossbow to the rafters and fires

So, I found a ruling that if you cast it on the ground where no one is, then it doesn’t drop, but if you cast it so that a creature must make a saving throw (ie directly under their feet) then it does drop >>relevant discussion <

Justin Case |

It’s an odd thing, and something I’m sure that I’ll get wrong. But, as the effect seems to form ice rather than casting ice AT a target I think
I know which way to go[dice=ref]1d20+10
A thick rime of ice forms around the tentacled construct. Its eight arms still move though. Two of them point towards Justin, their tips suddenly blazing with a bright white light….
Yep, thats the way I read it too. COnjures ice around the the target, as opposed to conjuring an ice spear and throwing it at the target
EDIT- AH-HAH! Now I see why you needed the details. ;P

Justin Case |

OK? so,.... DId Justin just get hit with 28 potential points of Fire dmg?!? Um, owies? ;P
Justin grins, seeing the result of his Ice spell.
"Good news! It is entirely encased in ice! Um, bad news? It's ARMS are still free! INCOMING!"
Justin raises his arms reflexively, for all the good it does him, as the constructs fire rays blaze across him, trying to cook him inside his mystic defenses.
If I am reading this right, I still get to subtract 1 point of dmg from each individual attack (MInor stone of defense on coat) If Crit confirm is a 'separate' attack, then I can subtract 3 points? So 25 points of dmg. HP now 80 of 105 (Yeah, I need to update his 'daily' spells with elemental defenses!) ;P
This is still round 2 yes? :)
"OW! Owowowowowowowow! Dangit, Fire is MY thing!"

Justin Case |

The fire rays light spill around Memnon, making him a giant glittering mirror ball skull
“Justin, you are such a trouble magnet” He sighs, dropping behind a metal rafter beam
"It's a gift, I swear! I don't even TRY!" Justin calls back as he looks for his own hidey-spot,...

Dungeon Monkey |

Well, that is kind of an interesting question. If there was an invisible enemy in the room how would you know? As far as you can tell, there is one current enemy. It is in the rafters fighting Justin with fire beams. If you wish you can cast see invisible in case another enemy is hiding elsewhere, that is perfectly reasonable, if a bit paranoid

Justin Case |

Merle’s grease spell slicks the rafters the construct is using as an anchoring point. The construct, slowed by ice and concentrating on Justin, makes a bad gripping choice and slips. It falls from the rafters some 20’
Fall: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Whatever invisible force shields the construct cushions the fall. The construct bounces and turns, tentacle arms aiming at any who approach
Everyone can get a melee whack at it now

Martin’s mighty blows seem to short out the force protecting the construct. There is a smell of burning metal. His sword scores a gash in the thing’s carapace
Mel chants and a shining silvered version of his mace streaks off towards the construct
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 281d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
The ghostly mace does some crunchy damage to the tentacled horror
Karrin and Alessia then rd 3 (if we need it).

ROFL! OK, fair enough! ;)

Alessia of Keoland |

Alessia, patiently waiting in the center of the room, slowly watches the construct crash to the ground. After letting Martin and Melchizedek take their respective turns, she coldly and dispassionately jams her sword into a tear in the thing's armor and rams the blade home.
+2 keen furyborn bastard sword: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
I know bastard swords deal slashing damage, but the image of using one as a giant rondel dagger was too fun to pass up. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work...

Justin Case |

Justin flies down to land and watch Alessia finish the junk-construct, using her sword as a giant crowbar.
Seeing the undead warrior tear the remainder of the construct apart with relative ease,... The wizard is once again reminded, that he is surrounded by people that he REALLY would not want to get on the wrong side of.
Gingerly testing his burns where the fire rays hit him, Justin murmurs aloud.
"Yep. WAY past time for a defensive upgrade!"
The wizard casts one of his prepared spells, using his 'Blasting Rod' as a focus, and using another rod from his magical quiver. He completes the spell by tapping himself. Justin is momentarily covered by a shimmering aura of cool light that swiftly fades.
Cast Resist Energy (Fire) on myself (OK, I'm SLOW, but I CAN be taught!) ;P

Justin Case |

Hold on there Cochise. MechaOctopus ain’t done yet
Oh. Oh of COURSE it's not done yet! ;P (NOW I'm waiting for teh scene where they think the monster is 'dead', and it rises again behind them when they turn their backs on it.)
OK, Spell casting comes later. :) Rewinding,... still hovering above, watching the battle now below, waiting for Rnd 3. ;)
Thank you! :D (Apologies, only major issue with PbP. Very easy (for me) to jump to conclusions.) ;P

"It's force bubble is down! Pound it to rubble!" Justin shouts as he mentally goes through his spell options. And immediately discards most of his fallback favorites, due to the fact that most of his friends are standing NEXT to the thing, and are within blast range.
Justin mentally tricks through options using the fingers of his left hand, as with his right hand he points his Blasting Rod and channels his will though it.
"Forzare!"
Force Missile Wiz ability, 1/9 for day, basic d4 dmg PLUS Wiz Evocation dmg boost. Plus Rod +1
Force missile dmg: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
A single bolt of force slams into the construct. (Admittedly not as visually impressive as Merle's following barrage of magical missiles, but doing considerable bang for his magical coinage.)
"MARTIN!" Justin shouts, fear evident in his voice, as his friend groans wrestling with the mechanical tentacle.
"Let. Him. Go. Or my next spell will be the LAST thing you ever hear!" Justin growls in a flat, dark voice.
His Blasting Rod remains pointed at the construct. Unwavering.

The snap-crackle-hiss of Sarastra's lightning spell snaps him out of it.
The wizard flies til he is over the grounded construct, holds out his left arm, (the one not currently holding his blasting rod), and the wrist sheath under his coat sleeve pops a wand into his hand. He hisses the command word, and the wand also shoots a lightning bolt down onto the construct.

The construct octopus jinks left at an inopportune moment, and Justin’s electrical bolt isn’t a direct hit. Still, the spell does seem to affect the thing - it jumps and shivers, lights blinking wildly. Unlike the other construct, this one is eerily silent. The only sounds it makes are the whistle of its many arms waving through the air and abused metal grinding together painfully somewhere within its chassis.

Justin mutters a (probably not-nice) phrase in an obscure language.
