Alessia’s sword drains more and more of the odd construct’s soul into herself. It is a sterile, regimented life force, all logic and sharp angles. The empty hole within Alessia drags it down, disassembling the memories and thoughts of this metal horror and using the resulting raw mana to fill her thews with strength. With the strength comes rage.
Eesh. Five levels drained

KArrin may be confused (Or pretending to be) ;P The first construct got chomped by you all in 1 round. The construct in the rafters got covered in ice, and then knocked down and is currently fighting on the ground, grappling Martin the Paladin. And being hammered in return by Alessia and spells. (UNless I'M the one confused? ALso very possible.) ;P

I think I got Memnon mistaken for a robot. Karrin will instead attack the big robot that everyone else is fighting. Those attacks are still not likely to hit.

Justin arches an eyebrow,
(Wizardly Arched Brow 'Haughty Gaze' #3, patent pending.)"AND less polite."
"Since you obviously understand Common, I would like to note that we DID try to enter and leave without undue violence. I'm only here to retrieve my friend. I couldn't give a Cranium Rat's tail about whatever else is going on here."
"SO, last chance. Release my companions, and let us be on our way. OR join the rest of the scrap-heap out front. Your choice."
Justin Case
Justin takes a couple of breaths, slowing his battle-inspired heartbeat.
The wizard glances around at the rest of the group, locking eyes with Martin long enough to see the paladin give a tiny nod of approval.
Justin chucks a thumb over his shoulder towards the front door. With the hand not currently holding his Blasting Rod.
"No calling for reinforcements or triggering alarms on your way out. And deal. Get."
Justin Case
Justin watches the construct depart, the tip of his blasting rod also glowing with tightly-held magical energies.
When the machine-creature can no longer be seen, Justin sighs in relief and lowers his wand. The light fades from the runes carved on the stick, and the wizard tucks it back into the magical quiver on his hip.
"Well. THAT was fun!" Justin says with dripping amounts of sarcasm as he lands and goes to check on Martin.
"You OK?" Justin asks, holding out a hand to help his armored friend to his feet.
Martin nods stoically as he regains his feet, "You did the right thing." The paladin says softly to Justin.
The wizard shakes his head.
"Being friends with you should come with a warning label. I REEELY wanted to turn it, him, whatever that was, into scrap. Especially once it started putting the squeeze on you!"
Martin grins at his friend.
"I could say the same! I usually am pretty good at not getting in over my head. BUT I have this friend whose a trouble-magnet! And I'm a softie."
Justin chucks the paladin on his armored shoulder, and then shakes his hand in not-entirely-mocked pain.
"Everyone OK? Anyone need healing? Besides THIS guy?" The wizard jabs a thumb at the paladin standing next to him.
"Even if the construct keeps his word, I think the cats' outta the bag. Sneaky is great, but faster is better."
Justin starts flying again, taking a look around the room, and seeing if he can find the exit and staircase Alessia mentioned, that should be on the far side of the room where they entered,...
Justin Case
Justin turns to Alessia.
"I don't suppose you have a good idea on where to go?" The wizard asks hopefully.
"If not, well,... Murphy is CERTAINLY not the 'Damsel in Distress/Lady in the Tower' type."
To which Martin silently nods a slow but emphatic agreement.
"She's more the 'lock her in the dungeon, throw away the key, and hope she doesn't get out!' type. And dungeons are usually down, so,... Unless you recall the layout?" Justin looks at Alessia again, (Hope springs eternal).
"Down?" He looks around for others input or opinion.
Dungeon Monkey
The group descends down the stairs. They are made of rusty metal, like the rest of the building. The darkness is thick, but those with light or darkvision can see another landing three flights down.
The lower landing has a set of rusty metal double doors on it. A cursory check shows that the doors are locked with a large key-style interior lock
Actions?
Justin Case
Justin sends half of his floating candlelights ahead as the group descends the stairs. He keeps the rest as high as he can above their heads in the stairwell, allowing them to see around themselves as well.
At the door, Justin 'Hmphs'. The wizard chucks a thumb at the door as he turns to the others.
"Avrahim, Sarastra, Can either of you help with this?" He asks with a sheepish grin.
Dungeon Monkey
Sarastra smiles
"One moment"
She seems to flatten, becoming almost two dimensional. She moves through the crack in the door. There is a *clunk* sound and the door swings open.
Behind the door is a hallway. Every ten feet or so there is another door. At the end of the hallway is a door as well. This door swings open, and a trio of humanoids emerge. They are large, close to seven feet, and look as if they were stitched together from a dozen different people. wires and odd bits of metal stud their hides, and they wear large metallic gloves that reach almost to their elbows. One bellows out
"YOU THERE! ON THE GROUND, NOW!"
Justin Case
Justin arches an eyebrow at Sarastra's two-dimensional magic trick.
"Huh. I admit I was NOT expecting that. Thanks." The wizard nods to Sarastra as she opens the door.
Justin squints as the newcomers emerge, trying to get a better look at them.
"What is this, more constructs? Some kind of Flesh Golems? I thought this was a VAMP lair?!?" The wizard grumbles as he tries to properly ID the newcomers.
K: Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (20) + 21 = 41
K: Religion (for undead etc): 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (4) + 23 = 27
"Heavy duty handwear. Maybe they like to hit things?"
Dungeon Monkey
These look indeed to be flesh golems. As such, they fall under the taxonomy of constructs, rather than undead. Judging from the hardware and gloves, these ones sport, they likely have some sort of clockwork upgrades. One thing Justin remembers to his chagrin is that flesh golems are extremely resistant to magical effects
Justin Case
"Yep! Thank the Powers for small favors!" Justin agrees heartily as he moves aside to allow the afore-mentioned 'Brute Force Specialists' pass him in the hallway.
"Be careful of those Clockwork upgrades they're carrying. I can't tell what they do. They may just be big, fancy Brass knuckles. Or they may enhance their strength. OR they could make them shoot lightning bolts out their arse. Just,... watch out."
Justin Peers at the Golems and shakes his head. Again.
"Flesh Golems. WHY did it have to be Highly-magic-resistant Flesh Golems?!? I suppose I could conjure up a 'friend' to take them from behind?" The wizard mutters, clearly thinking aloud.
"IF I was the suspicious type, I'd think that someone, who knew we were coming, warned them they were about to be infiltrated by a high-magic using group. NAw. Just coincidence. After all, no one in their right mind would intrude into a Vamp stronghold without high-powered magical backup. Right?!?
Alessia of Keoland
"We're likely going to need to brute force these guys," Karrin says, "Lucky for us we happen to have a number of brute force specialists on staff."
Alessia steps out in front next to Karrin, sword and shield readied for the attack.
