Quenly's buffs:

Before teleporting Quenly applies the following:

Hunter's Blessing: forest and evil outsiders. - this gives the whole party the followings sacred bonuses. +2 Bluff, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against evil outsiders, +2 on attack rolls and damage rolls made against evil outsiders. +2 sacred bonus on initiative checks, Perception, Stealth, and Survival checks in forest terrain. Lastly, when tracking evil outsiders in forests, the targets can follow the tracks of such creatures untrained, even if the DC for the task is 11 or higher. This spell will hit the whole party including pets and lasts 11 hours.

False life: false life hp: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Heroism (via Channel the Gift and Kramac)

Freedom of Movement.

Quenly buys a scroll of Remove Disease from the quartermaster, and tops up on diamond dust (another 200gp worth).

Anyone else interesting in splitting the cost of a Life Bubble scroll?

Anyone else have any pre-teleport activities?

I have placed a blank map on the slide show with a yellow square that represents the wizard's teleport area. Place yourselves however you want inside that square. The teleport area is ground-level only, so even if you are flying you will occupy the ground-level square.

Kramac, if you are mounted, just place your token on top of Beak's.
Quenly, I created a dragon token, but as long as it is in your square, leave it off of the map to avoid clutter.
Kindle, is Rosella corporeal, incorporeal, or unmanifested?

After the briefing of information, Kindle Crow relaxes for a short period of time to recollect some spells he believes will be beneficial. After enough time of concentration, he then uses his magic to enhance Rosella for battle.

Buffs, Spells, and Preparation:

Knowing that his offensive magics may not be able to work against Demons, Kindle sets himself to using magic that can keep his allies going.

1st - Goodberry (2), Cure Light Wounds (2), Bristle, Sanctify Corpse

5th - Air Walk (Communal), Breath of Life (2)

If you prefer, Kindle can just prepare two life bubbles and two Breath of Lifes.
@Quenly's Dragon How many Bark Skins do we want up then? I got another Lesser Metamagic Extend rod and can buff a few people with that. I also carry two pearls of power for 2nd level casting.

Most of us would benefit :) But I suggest holding something in reserve. I'll use Channel the Gift before you cast your 'last' barkskin, ie after you use up your second pearl. I'll use my spell in place of your Resinous Skin now so that you still have it available. I like Resinous Skin.

Quenly aids Kindle's magic, and finishes his own prep with a Bull's Strength on himself. He floats into the teleportation area, his dragon hiding under the hem of his be-shadowed robes.

GM Screen:

Picked a spot for Shamak.

You appear in a partially wooded hill with numerous rocky outcroppings, including one large stone spur that juts out from the hill to create a relatively flat surface. A shallow but swift-moving stream hugs the contour like a castle moat that separates the ascent from the twisted landscape that begins about 60 feet to the south. There, in a span of several dozen feet, the pristine wilderness transforms into Tanglebriar, a mass of pus-weeping trees, serrated bark, twisted nettles, and growling clouds of gnats.

Six elves stand on the flat stone, and they stand up in surprise at your sudden arrival. They call out in surprise, and draw their bows as one of them shouts, "Tric cythraul arall!".

Elven:
"Another demon trick!"

Before you have a chance to respond, the ground shakes, and a colossal creature emerges from the the woods!

For purposes of this combat, the scenario puts all of the elves in a single block, as they are a well-coordinated fighting unit. They will act on Initiative 15. Rolling a single initiative for Kramac and Beak since Kramac is mounted. Rolling separately for other companions. Expending Kramac's HA per his post.

Pre-teleport buffs:

Shamak unsheathes his falchion and clears his throat.

Shamak inhales and begins to shout at the giant centipede in a raspy and very loud voice a song usually sung in Chelaxian underground scenes.

"UUUUUUUURGH! WHAT IF I JUST SAY I'LL DO IT ON MY WAY! THIS TIME MY DREAMS WON'T FLY AWAYYYYY!"

Shamak roars and begins to inspire the courage needed to face the battle in his companions, facing the centipede. As the performance starts, the half-orc uses magic words in his song to enhance the party even more.

Inspire courage and casting Good Hope on the pathfinders.

Quenly groans a little as he employs the magic of the Lore Needle:

Know.nature v bug, subbing Know.History, heroism: 1d20 + 25 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 25 + 2 = 29

Questions: does it have Combat Reflexes (ie Feats)? Resistances, Immunities, Special Attacks, Saves

The following assumes the bug does not have Combat Reflexes - if it does, or if that die roll means Quenly doesn't know, then Quenly first casts Grace (swift action, no AoOs provoked by movement) and then the turn follows as below.

Quenly silently rises into the air climb at 45 degree angle, no fly check needed.

He faces the Uprooters and answers them in elvish whilst his dragon translates telepathically to the pathfinders everyone feel free to open the elvish spoilers

"Frodyr a chwiorydd, fi yw Quenlariel Saelgwath o'r Kyonin Lorekeepers! Rwy'n dod â chynghreiriaid yn erbyn y cythreuliaid, ar gais y Cadfridog Tenasi. Rydyn ni yma i ddod â chi a gweddill eich carfan adref. Ar gyfer Kyonin!"

elvish:
"Brothers and sisters, I am Quenlariel Saelgwath of the Kyonin Lorekeepers! I bring allies against the demons, at the behest of General Tenasi. We are here to bring you and the rest of your squad home. For Kyonin!"

With these words spoken, Quenly draws his bow and aims it at the giant centipede-thing. Then, with a single gesture, he invokes a blessing on the Uprooters.

Casting Blessing of Fervour on the elves - I believe I can also encompass myself, Kramac, Beak, Kindle and Rosella. If I've miscalculated the AoE, my primary targets are the Uprooters.

GM, I've assumed that Diplomacy with the Uprooters is not possible given we're in combat rounds.

Quenly:
1 - You can include yourself in the BoF if you drop down to 15' instead of 20'.
2 - As it happens, this scenario does allow for a standard action Diplomacy check with the Uprooters. You would have to do that instead of casting, or wait until next round.
3 - This is a variant Juggernaut. You rolled well enough for one category of information. Your first question was about Combat Reflexes, so I will tell you it does not have that; other special abilities include Trample and Poison. You also suspect it has some sort of Fiendish taint, but would not be able to guess what specifically.

All: Quenly pointed out in the discussion thread that I missed Hunter's Blessing in your init rolls. Everyone except Kindle will act before the centipede.

Kramac and Beak dash out as Shamak and Quenly cast spells. Both hit, but find that the immense bug has amazingly tough skin. DR reduces the damage from both hits.

As Quenly calls out to the Uprooters in tongue, some of them lower their bows, through several are still aiming at you. Partial success, you can continue to make checks.

Flyn and Zaarah add their voices, and another of the archers looks at him, lowering his own bow. More partial success, still haven't completely convinced them, though.

Rosella moves over and strikes at the bug. Her ectopasm hits, but doesn't seem to penetrate its hide. Damage is completely stopped by DR. Does that affect the ability that gives Beak an attack? (What is that, by the way?)

---------------

The centipede lets out a shrill shriek as it moves forward, attempting to crush everyone in its path.

Trample time! Quenly and the dragon are high enough to avoid the trample, everyone else has to make a choice. As the attack comes in, you can either
A) Make an reflex save to dodge. On success you will take half damage.
B) Forgo the save to take an Attack of Opportunity. You are at -4 to this attack.

I need everyone to make either the save or the AoO, then I will roll the trample damage.

@GM Rinaldo It is called Opening Strike, and it is a Kindness Phantom Ability. The only requirements is that I hit and my intended recipient has a Swift or Immediate action available. Damage is irrelevant.

Opening Strike:

Source is the Psychic Anthology Pg.4. Archives of Nethys link attached.

Opening Strike (Su): As a standard action, the phantom can make a melee attack against a foe. If this attack hits, the spiritualist designates one ally threatening that enemy. This ally can make a single attack at his full base attack bonus against that enemy as an immediate action.

Holy crap!

Flyn fires off several arrows, all but one connecting. Unfortunately, even cold iron doesn't seem to be enough to pierce the creature's hide completely. Fortunately, Flyn is trained to cluster his arrows, and the effect seems helpful.

Kramac and Beak then begin a flurry of swings, bites, and scratches. Centipede legs go flying and pieces of flesh embed themselves in everyone nearby as the two rip a hole through the giant bug.

Nothing past Kramac's attack was required. Between him and Flyn, you did double its hit points even after deducting the DR. Adjust your actions to conserve resources if you see fit. COMBAT OVER! :)

The last of the elves lowers their bow, and one of the group steps to the edge of the rock they are standing on. She calls out in Common, "I apologize for initially thinking you were an enemy. Flyn, wiping off the bits of bug guts and other various parts off of himself, nods to Kramac. ”It’s good to be fighting by your side again, my friend; you still pack quite the punch. Great way to start off a mission, eh?”

Checking on the others, the ranger says, ”Is everyone OK? I also have a healing wand...or I can operate anyone else’s, if needed...”

He retrieves his wand and taps himself a few times to get back to full health...

Looking up into the trees, he summons his owl. ”Archimedes, come!” The bird flies gracefully and lands on his shoulder...

Turning towards the Uprooters, he mutters, ”Give ‘em hell, Quenly...”

Yea, every once in a while, Kramac will string a few crits together and just absolutely murder something.

Healing, 7 charges for Kramac: 7d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 8, 8, 7, 3) + 7 = 42
Healing, 9 charges for Beak: 9d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 2, 4, 4, 3, 1, 8) + 9 = 39

oof High level scenarios are rough on the ol' wand charge count...

To Flynn,

Kramac and Beak can be quite fearsome! Not as fearsome as we would be if Kiboko was here as well! Every time we meet, your arrows are more accurate and more deadly. Even though you may not worship him, your continual improvement embodies the highest ideal of Kurgess!

After healing himself and Beak, Kramac interjects into the conversation while wiping the largest bits of bug goo and guts off of his armor.

Do not be so hard on our new friends Quenly! They have been through quite the ordeal - caution is wise for them! And none of us are any worse for the wear!

To the Elves,

As Quenly says, we are here to extract you. Is this all of your number, or are there additional scouts in the woods we should go gather up as well?

Shamak stands up, still wounded from the attack, and sheathes his falchion.

"WELL THAT WAS FAST!" he shouts.

Oblivious to the elves' presence, he taps himself with a wand.

The Midnight Mirror

The leader of the elves stares Quenly down, saying, "You spend several nights with little supplies in this forsaken place, and see if you don't jump at every sudden appearance. We have demons specifically using illusions and charms to wear us down, so Stand. Down."

As Zaarah and Rosella try to smooth things over, she settles down a bit, and addresses Kramac, giving Quenly a cold shoulder.

"My name is Cecilla, and this is what remains of my squad. Three of our number have died. Even worse, our captain, Lanverel, and four others have been captured."

One of the Uprooters has been staring at the collapsed form of the juggernaut. He steps up to Cecilla and whispers to her. She looks over, then jumps down. She walks up to one of the severed legs, and removes a belt from around it. "This is Captain Lanverel's magic belt. Fihralaz must have placed it on this creature before sending it to find us, as yet another taunt."

"I would like to have Lanverel and the others back, or at least know their fate. However, we are weakened by our time here, and might not survive another trek through the tainted jungle. What exactly were your instructions on coming here?"
