Hearing their Captain's mindless babble over the Comm system, Taerem frowns before sighting at the Cultist in a ragged yellow robe. Their top arms find the correct cartridge and let fire, seeking to inconvenient the foe. Ven's drivel is off putting however and the shot goes wide.

Ziyass looks back at Ven wondering just how long this infernal drivel will continue, wishing she also could just cut it off with a switch.

Ziyass just leans back to let the fist swing by. She shouts "Really, Ven?" as she curses loudly in HIS brain this time, contemplating the purchase of a bridle to go with the saddle if he doesn't settle down.

Gava reloads his weapon, positions himself a bit away from the portal, wondering if cap'n will jump right in.

Having no knowledge of the Arcane or Mystic to draw upon, Taerem keeps back with their rifle trained on the portal waiting for the creature to come forth from whatever hell it had been summoned from.

You identify the maw as a tear in the Material Plane with a successful DC 12 Mysticism check. You also learn an outsider is about to come through the rift.

"Team! Take up positions! We do not know that it will be hostile, but be ready! I don't know anything about planar beings! If you know what it is, shout it out as soon as you can!"

Ziyass situates herself within punching distance and readies for action.

Nope your best bet is to heal and/or move on round 1 and ready attacks on round 2 to get the drop on the enemy

Since you can't ready a trick attack, neither will Gava - and perhaps they ended up summoning something silly anyway.

Mysticism to know stuff about it, fail, but you all do massive damage to it, except for Ven who misses. Ziyass could finish it before it gets a turn, it only has 30 HP and you dealt 27.

Ziyass growls when her fist totally misses the demon when it first steps from the tear, but takes a deep breath and swings again.

Dead End of scenario

With the botched ritual and the defeat of the concavion, the Cult
of the Devourer cell on Enereth-7 shatters. What remains of the
cell flees the planet, leaving the quorlus in relative peace. When
the PCs report in, Venture-Captain Arvin asks the PCs about the
ritual and how they interrupted it. If the PCs mention the demon,
Arvin congratulates them on taking out the threat to the planet
and on defeating a formidable opponent. If the PCs convinced
Veerlin to abandon the cult, a group of quorlus are impressed
by the PCs’ actions and send an invitation for them to return to
Enereth-7 as favored guests.
