Entirely up to you all on that.
Given the "new normal" going on in the world right now, I know folks are still adjusting. I want our game to be as low-stress as possible for all, which is why I've been waiting rather than pushing things in the gameplay thread.
Regarding the monitor station thing - the adventure has it so that the group leaves the crash site and then goes to either the monitor station or the hell rift before hearing Ponatia in danger, then going to the Helix Lyceum. If the party is utterly smashing encounters and is near full-strength (resolve/spells/etc.), doing the "other" encounter (monitor station/rift) becomes an optional encounter.
The last time I decided to run both encounters before the crocodile fight, I almost had a tpk, so I resolved not to do that this time unless you were all rolling dozens of natural 20s and such.
Also, I think I'm going to utilize something that shows up in several adventures - when working together on a single task, whoever rolls highest will become the "lead" roll, with others aiding if they get high enough. So feel free to approach those Heaadteachers without fear of a bad grade! :)

Yes, I'll say that it is, but I'm also going to say that whoever rolls highest will lead, and all other checks can aid, since you're right that we're losing momentum.
I'm equally (if not more) guilty at this...I'm borderline overwhelmed with stuff right now (trying to teach a dozen GMs how run PbP, Roll20, Discord, and other online game types, plus doing coordination for an online con plus GMing my own local lodge's VTT tables as one of only two GMs around here with any VTT or PbP experience), but I owe it to you four to stay on target.
So, one teacher on your side, and a Medicine check you can make on a second one (with no penalties for failure other than that you'd be forced to only use Diplomacy with her otherwise)!

Mike, sounds like gaming is almost a second job for you. Since I seem to be the only one pushing, and I've no reason other than games are more fun when they're moving, we could officially put this one on hold, if you need the time.
We could all check back here weekly until we acheive a quorum again.
And I'd be willing to help with those PbP newbies on the Paizo boards. We could set up a discussion thread and point them to that.

In theory, the business should die down once folks pick up how things work. A lot of my locals are just in need of their gaming fix right now, and I'm hopeful my local GMs will start running more once they've played a few games in PbP and VTT. I appreciate the offer though!
I'd like for you all to enjoy the rest of this one, so I'm okay with us continuing on whenever everyone is free to post. The advantage of PbP is that we can move at that pace, thankfully :)

Because I had bacon on the mind, I had some for breakfast today. So thank you doubly, Quonx! :P

...famous last words

![]() |

No problem. We're in the home stretch now, and I have a convention plus two game-days all coming up simultaneously (...I may have accidentally overbooked myself..again) this weekend.

![]() |

As always, apologies for lack of weekend posting. This weekend was worse than most - I was without power for 21 days. That pushed my convention prep back by over a full day and I had three Roll20 games to run this weekend. BUT, back to our regularly scheduled program, gree?!
By way of an apology, I'd like everybody to roll a 1d20 in the discussion tab. Anyone who gets a 6 (allsix!) or a natural 20 (drift!) will win a boon from my personal boon folder, which admittedly is mostly GM race boons I've gotten from running things at conventions.
Good luck, nufriends!

![]() |

That said, I have massive favored enemy bonuses against that target ;)
At long last, nufriends, we have reached our conclusion! In spite of all the delays, I hope you enjoyed this adventure! You are a great bunch of players who I really enjoyed GMing for - I wouldn't stick around for just any group on a pbp, ya know? :P
And if you're not gonna roll, I'll do it myself - I have boons I want to give away, gree?
Dakoyo: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Gazigaz: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Nako: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Quonx: 1d20 ⇒ 11
D'oh.
Hm, let me use my coin re-roll... for 1d4 ⇒ 1 Dakoyo!
1d20 ⇒ 7
D'oh.
Well...in any event, I'll get your chronicle sheets together later tonight and posted before I go to bed. Be sure to let me know if any info has changed for those! Again, I hope you all had fun! :)

Nako, I just realized that you have a day job, so you can roll that!
For everyone else, the boon on this one is worded a bit weird. It is a starship boon that has both limited-use and non-limited uses.
You can use "Skittermander Stepping In!" or "Let Me Help!" without having to check a box. However, while using "Let Me Help!," you can check a box for the "dramatic assistance" mentioned in the boon. The boon says nothing about crossing it off, so I take that to mean that even if you use all the check-boxes, you can still use the boon for its "normal" usage.
Chronicles for Dakoyo, Gazigaz, and Quonx are now posted!
Please let me know if anything is incorrect, and again, I hope you enjoyed the game!

Mike, the chronicle looks good. Thanks so much for running the game.
Sunny, Captain, Incendiaeternus , it was great fun plying with you all.
I really look forward to seeing you all around the paizo boards, and hope to have the opportunity to play with you again soon.

![]() |

Thank you so much for running this, I really had a blast! Apologies again for my prolonged absence, but we still managed to finish it so yay!
Same goes for me, I really enjoyed playing with you all and hope we will meet in another game!
Mike, last request of mine, could you please check a box on my Skitter Shot chronicle sheet? :)

Thanks!

Bacon - your updated Skitter Shot is now in the same Dropbox folder as the Skitter Crash chronicle sheets :)

Nako's chronicle sheet is now uploaded, too! :)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

In the last week I've run games with Americans from several parts of the country, Canadians, Australians, and one German. Accents vary. If you ever want to give it a try, you are definitely welcome :)
(As are all of you)
https://discord.gg/FhePYPY - my lodge's discord where we organize our online gaming efforts during the lockdown and such.

![]() |

Also, our Warhorn/scheduling site. I try to keep us with games on the calendar two weeks in advance (updated on Tuesday evenings) but seats go pretty fast!

![]() |

This gives me an idea. Would the two of you (Sunny, Bacon) like to schedule a game for me to GM with you two playing for you to try it out? We can pick a scenario, day, and time here (or on discord/email/whatever) and then I'll add it to our Warhorn afterward. I can then sign you up as seats #1 and 2 to guarantee you're in for it, and meet you online to help you learn how to use Roll20 and stuff?
Just a thought :)

![]() |

Thom, I take that as high praise - thank you! :)
I'll drop you a line the next time I run a PbP, and if you ever get time to try out a VTT game, feel free to reach out to me as well!
Captain, glad you joined us. Sunny, I got Bacon started with a blank character sheet already and am around most of the evening tonight if you want to chat as well. Just poke me on discord and let me know!

Alrighty gang, now that Sunny and Bacon have joined my discord, I'm going to close up this pbp thread later tonight or tomorrow morning. If you need me for anything, you can drop me a line in a message or email.
As always, great playing with all of you!
