The Dire GM |
Welcome nufriends to another fun and slightly loopy module called SKITTER CRASH! I will once more be your conductor of this crazy space train into six-armed furry fury, part deux!
Rather than copy my introduction post from the Skitter Shot discussion, I'll just link it...which I just did? ^^;
Also, the link to the Skitter Crash character sheets, cheat sheets, and some art can be found HERE
~~~~~
One thing I will copy and paste, however...
Dire's PbP "Table Rules" -
0 - RL > Game. No other rules trump rule 0! :D
1 - I'd like it if everyone posted once a day Mon-Fri. Friday night through Sunday night is eh-whatever (I am in US Eastern Time, for reference). I'll try to post when I can over weekends, but I know people have lives and won't always be online, so no worries.
2 - If you don't post in the middle of an "action" scene for a day, you get skipped once (or botted if your action would be super obvious or you leave a note to me or another player "proxying" your character). If you don't post a second time, you get "botted" by me to do something simple (usually just attack or aid another). If we get into the 3-5 range, I'll probably drop you a line off-list to see what's up. If it goes on too long...well, I hate dropping people from games, but it unfortunately happens :(
3 - When you've got a saving throw to make, please roll that first before posting any other actions/rolls (unless it can occur before the save).
4 - Feel free to roll perception and sense motive whenever you want, and if you have a reroll, feel free to use that anytime as well.
5 - Have fun! Rule 5 trumps all other rules! :P
~~~~~
Also, please post the following information in this discussion thread:
Player Name/Alias:
Organized Play # / Character # (that you want to apply this chronicle sheet to - any level 3-4 SFS character is allowed, or we can "drop" the chronicle down to a 1st level character with reduced credits)
What faction are you slotting for this adventure:
Do you have a promotional boon to slot for this adventure / what is it:
Unlike most SFS adventures, the only boons you can use here are basic Faction boons (to earn Reputation), and Promotional boons such as T-shirts, messenger bags, etc.
Thanks very much in advance for that info. At this time, please feel free to say hi and get settled. Once everyone has checked in, we can get this party started! I'm looking forward to running this for all of you, and hope you enjoy it as much or even more than the last one!

Happy holidays to all for whatever you celebrate.
We're in no rush, so once folks are good, we can get this craz(ier) train moving! :-)
Fun fact - bacon being so delicious is one of the reasons I decided that I will almost definitely never keep kosher lol
therealthom |
In college I worked at a fast food place and often did Friday morning setup. One of the tasks was cooking bacon and I'd quality test reflexively. Made Lent a series of utter failures to fast or abstain from meat on Fridays. I wouldn't even remember the prohibition until my shift ended and I was walking out.
NuFriend Nako |
Nako has been updated for Skitter Crash when we are ready. 100% no Rush
The Dire GM |
Heya, the gang's all here!
I'm back home now as well. Look for the first in-game post for Skitter Crash to be live some time later today (Tuesday)!
The Dire GM |
Unexpected snafu on my end - I'll have this started on Wednesday, or your first d20 roll is free (insert alternative catchy phrase here?)
The Dire GM |
Away we go!!!
The Dire GM |
I can lend a hand (or six)...to this discussion:
This adventure does not have the "starship combat" tag ;)
The Dire GM |
I'm very, very sorry for the delay...again...second round of reformatting my computer plus doing the work of 2+ VOs for convention planning. I should be back to posting tomorrow.
Re: the id moss, if it's ingested only than unfortunately no. Outside of one really odd and funny option, I'm not even sure why they gave Dakoyo that in the first place!
therealthom |
Dakoyo grabs a carbon steel curve blade with a series of runes on the hilt that spell “Blooddrinker” in Elven.
Gazigaz grabs a canister of sprayflesh emblazoned with a cartoon starfish wearing a doctor’s reflecting mirror.
Quonx grabs a slightly out-of-date but still usable targeting computer armor upgrade with the ATech logo on it.
and Nako grabs an experimental weapon fusion seal that grants the blasting weapon fusion on any item of 5th level or lower and takes effect 10 minutes after being placed on an appropriate weapon. However, the fusion seal falls off after it’s been in place for 2 days and can’t be used again.
Loot distribution doesn't look bad actually, except the curve blade would be best wielded by Nako if she wants it.
The Dire GM |
The blasting fusion seal also might go well with someone who doesn't want to get too close to melee (Dakoyo or Gazigaz).
My computer woes will apparently continue for a bit longer...but for the moment it's stable enough that I can work. My main machine has been running Windows 7 for about a decade, and I'm a bit behind on my upgrading to Windows 10... let's just say that 7, knowing how much I like it (my favorite operating system since XP) isn't going quietly, so after the clean-install failed we had to restore back to a save point then do a quasi "in-situ" install...the whole thing is a mess.
Again, my apologies, and I'll get us going here again shortly!
The Dire GM |
So, I was going to post another apology since my Windows 10 update needed to be re-done yesterday...but I see not much has been going on. Everything okay by all of you? ^^;
The Dire GM |
One way or another, we'll get through. It seems most (if not all) of us are dealing with stuff.
*allsix hugs to all*
The Dire GM |
Apologies for disappearing (again), midterms have really been draining. Will try to be back soon.
RL > game, always. Good luck with your exams!
The Dire GM |
It's still no excuse, sorry.
The Dire GM |
I've had 2-3 times the normal amount of work on account of volunteers bailing on me, but I'm hoping to get one more post in on this game before my convention starts on Friday, if enough PCs post.
If not, I hope everyone has a good weekend!
The Dire GM |
My local community is going through a lot as well. This all falls under Rule 0. RL > Game.
No rush on any of this stuff, folks. Although if anyone can confirm that CaptainBacon is doing alright IRL, it will set my sometimes anxiety-plagued brain at ease.
I'll give it a couple of days before botting or advancing things. We're pretty close to the end but at the same time I don't want to just hand-wave "okay XYZ happens then we're done" stuff.
Let me know if I can be of any help to anyone with stuff, too, and take care!
CaptainBacon |
Sorry to have disappeared again. Midterms, the Covid situation and personal issues made it hard to keep posting.
I'm ready to get back on board, but I see you've advanced quite a bit without me, and I'd feel bad about just hopping on for the last miles and taking credit for the game. What do you think, Dire?
The Dire GM |
^ what Thom said. You missed one fight and part of one other encounter (that was, honestly, written with only one PC - Dakoyo - in mind to be able to solve it...somewhat similar to the dark observation deck in the first one). I'd like you to stay and play, if you want to :)
The Dire GM |
I think if we put allsix (24?) on deck either over the weekend or early next week, you drift bunch of nufriends can knock this out of the park, gree? ;)
