Raseri blinks after feeling Lexi's slap sting her cheek. Though she doesn't say anything more, the words don't seem to have any effect on Raseri's current bout of self-loathing. She takes in a deep breath and gives Lexi a choppy nod after placing her hands around the spike and preparing to pull it out.

Deimus sighs as the hounds die, but the sigh lets the spike dig a little further and he tenses at what must be pain to a Gearforged.

Feeling his lights slipping away, yet unclear as to what needs done, since all he can see is the bland and despairing sky of this shadowy hole of a plane, he shouts out to the one companion he hears clearly above the din of battle: "Firned Hrungnir, fight on! Fight on and carve your rune on the shadowy maggots! Then for the love of Zobeck, come down and pull me from this hole!"

Carnadine imagines his home Castle Bruvik during the highest celebration to Lady Marena. In the deepest of night at the height of revelry and passion, the golden orb of Khors snaps open flooding the land in sunlight. The golden brightness scours the castle replacing shadows hunting for every victim and searing his eyes. Screaming in terror and pain fill his ears. Yes, this is what I meant to say. Just haven't learned 5e rules enough yet. I really need to read up on actions in combat. Is that in the PBH or the DMG?

Kjeta gasps as once again she's assailed by horrid visions, and runs off.

Hopefully Deimus can still benefit from the Aid I gave him last round. Note, I *THINK* I'm still able to concentrate on a spell and take a bonus action. If I'm right then she also tries to whack the Flier again.

Also yes you can concentrate and take bonus actions. Concentration requires nothing other than you not casting another concentration spell. Further the only condition that cancels it is Incapacitated...so you can be Frightened and still concentrating. Being Stunned, Unconscious, Petrified or Paralyzed kills concentration in contrast, since they impose the Incapacitated condition along with the other stuff.

Deimus nobly chose to attack the shadow rather than attempt to free himself.

I am about to run some weekend errands, but will be back for update in a few hours.

You need only enter, willingly or not..." the nearby giant strikes his spears together at that comment "...and this my nightmare road will end for you. Or by all means continue...I have many exciting attractions along the way."

The giant, Krugdok presumably, once again annoyingly taps his spears sizing you up. Finally it raises an eyebrow and nods "Heard what elf said but no care. You face me here, before portal. One versus one. First one forced through the portal loses. You, or another from your band...decide now."

Following the flying fey's fall, Kjeta finally finds her faculties freed from fear. Fuuu...

Shaking the dark images from her mind, Kjeta is about to return to Deimus when she sees two things: Lexi helping their gearforged companion...and Raseri brazenly heading off after the last giant, alone.

"Ulp!"

She decides the latter more urgently needs and hurries to join her (picking up her twice-dropped tankard on the way, if possible).

Move: toward giant
Free use object: pick up tankard (again)
Action: Dash, to move 50' total
Bonus: Spiritual Weapon, if it can make it to the giant this turn. (Not sure.) If it *can't* she'll cast Tankard-llelagh instead, to be ready to get into melee.
Note: Spirit Guardians is still active, so if I get within 15' of him, he'll be hit by them...and if he tries to come within 15' of me his speed will be halved.

Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 In case the range works
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Well this could be interesting...

Before the top of the hill, let me roll Deimus spike hp...I forgot the last two times but will just roll once since it was my mistake.

Spikes: 1d10 ⇒ 7

Also, Carn and Kjeta have inits higher than Ras, so if they wish to interact before she does they may.

This post assumes that Carnadine is not within reach of the giant triggering an AOO

The Knight Captain Incorporeal smiles at the Master of Roads and giant, like one acknowledges children, who are ready to be eaten... He continues to smile when the shadow fey runs away, I shall call him Sir Robin, as per the famous ballad to cowardice.

He readies to use his Predatory Charm on the giant until the Thorsdottir finally returns with flame to the battlefield. So much for diplomacy.

"No Krugdok. I do not accept your terms. You are the one leashed to that magic portal. I on the other hand have companions who yet live and haven't run away. Besides, I seem to have dropped my best giant flaying tools near the body of your companion." He turns and walks away back down the road.
He Moves not Dashes. And uses his Action to look cool and Dodge, in case the giant charges to attack.

AvernusArt 2Grid

Map updated, you're good Carn.

Kjeta, you have plenty of move to get up there and almost melee. Spiritual Weapon however is slow as hell and will take at least 2 moves.

Also, I dropped spirit guardians because it says 'when you cast the spell' is when targets you see are designated. You couldn't see this one earlier, and both original targets are dead.

Dex vs Ras: 1d20 ⇒ 10

Krugdok takes a step to the left as the little spiritual flame vaporizes the gravel he was standing in. "Heh...it not matter. You will still make your choice...no escaping it. All of you."

He rushes Raseri, the wooden hafts of his spears nearly splintering in his grip...

Spear1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Spear2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Dmg: 2d10 + 5 ⇒ (5, 2) + 5 = 12

...stabbing Raseri in the same hole the spike was, he then grins and backpedals, turning around the backside of the portal...not even trying to hide. He has a reach weapon so didn't need to disengage to avoid OA.

Sprit guardians works different than I thought...rolling the bones.

Wis vs Kjeta: 1d20 ⇒ 1 XD DM karma
Dmg: 3d8 ⇒ (3, 7, 3) = 13

The little toiling drunken dwarves of pure energy begin swarming all over the giant, as it helplessly tries flicking the nasty dodgers off...

Also since the spell has a movement reduction, this means the giant cant quite retreat behind the portal, and thus does NOT have half cover.

Blood splatters the ground as Raseri struggles to keep her feet. Her vision swims as she tries to find something, anything to focus on. She stumbles forward and plants the haft of her maul to keep from tumbling down the hill after the giant that had wounded her so badly. She struggles to keep her eyes open, and a small, sweet voice that is too much like her own tells her that it's okay to lay down, to give up. No one would blame her for doing it. She's too hurt to fight.

She's too weak.

For a moment she almost does it. She almost gives in. She almost tears the symbols from her neck and throws them into the pit behind her. After all, why should she keep giving so much of herself when she didn't even call Zobeck her bloody home? The people didn't accept her, they barely tolerated her some days. She was muscle to them, the ignorant, arrogant Southlanders who cared not for deeds.

"Ekki eins og þú hafir nokkurn tíma viljað að þeir sungu af verkum þínum," she mutters under her breath.

North Tongue:

"Not like you ever wanted them to sing of your deeds anyway."

A bolt of lightning goes streaking past her, but before it can get away, Raseri reaches out and grabs it. Instead of Mjolnir, her hand grasps the handle of her hammer. The one that she forged. Sparks of lightning arc and dance over her from the hammer as she draws the magic she'd put into back. She replaces the hammer in its ring on her belt and starts walking forward, dragging her maul as she leaves a trail of dripping blood behind her.

"Þeir kalla þetta tungu risans. Talarðu það?"

North Tongue:

"They call this the Giant's tongue. Do you speak it?"

Her voice carries across the gap as she stalks forward, The lightning heals some of her wounds, leaving behind the painful looking bruises on her skin, but it's not enough, not nearly enough against an almost healthy giant.

"Neu ai hwn yw'r unig un rydych chi'n ei adnabod? Nid ydych chi'n swnio'n rhy ddeallus," she says as she grabs the haft of the maul with both hands.

Umbral:

"Or is this the only one you know? You don't sound overly intelligent."

"Nid wyf yn poeni mewn gwirionedd. Dydw i ddim yn rhoi damn am eich gêm fey. Dwi eisiau torri'ch wyneb hyll i mewn," she continues on before putting every bit of strength she has left into getting some speed behind her maul. Lightning arcs around her as she spins to build up some momentum, then swings as she gets close.

Umbral:

"I don't really care. I don't give a damn about your fey game. I just want to smash your ugly face in."

She's hardly surprised to see the giant just out of her reach as it leers down at her.

It's not like I ever expected to have my deeds sung of. Who sings of the fateless anyway, except in tales of hubris and folly.

She closes her eyes as time seems to stand still. She can feel her mangled leg buckling. She knows that she's not going to die on her feet, not now.

At least it's not a straw death, even if it's a stupid one.

Healing Word (3rd): 3d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) + 2 = 9

Booming Blade: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Bloody typical. All that lovely build up, and I roll a nat 1.

Kjeta hustles up to the melee. She pulls out one of the healing chapbook pages and chants its Divine Words while touching Raseri's bloody back. As Kjeta reads the letters on the scroll burn with a silver flame and then hiss, vanishing from the parchment.

"You're not throwing your life away that easily, my friend!"

The little golden boozy dwarves continue to spin around her, and her floating tankard bobs along lazily behind her.
