Mari absorbed the AOO, sol Bel should be clear to charge in and roll her nat 20 to decapirate the dragon!
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
Is that a serious suggestion, Flint? :P
Belmarniss IS stubborn enough to try it, even St. George got nearly killed and was revived three times when he fought HIS dragon, but if I should be exercising the better part of valor instead, I can do that...

Stupid spelling…Should be “decapitate”.
Do what you want, Belmarniss…Flint is off floating in dreamland for now…

What do the rest of you think? Retreat or go full "DEATH OR GLORY!?"
Marisol Welkin |
I do not think that retreating is a viable option.

Just to double check, I can spend another resolve point to stabilize again, right?
Captain Flint Conners |
Stabilizing
If you are dying and you have enough Resolve Points, you can spend a number of Resolve Points equal to one-quarter your maximum (minimum 1 RP, maximum 3 RP) on your turn to immediately stabilize. This means you’re no longer dying, but you remain unconscious. If you don’t have enough Resolve Points to stabilize when you are dying, you lose Resolve Points as per the dying rules (see Injury and Death on page 250).
Staying in the Fight
If you are stable and have enough Resolve Points, or if you were knocked unconscious from nonlethal damage (see page 252), you can spend 1 Resolve Point at the start of your turn to heal 1 Hit Point. You are no longer dying, you immediately become conscious, and you can take your turn as normal. You can spend Resolve Points to regain Hit Points only if you are at 0 Hit Points and are stable, and you cannot heal more than 1 Hit Point in this way. You cannot spend Resolve Points to both stabilize and stay in the fight in the same round.

Happy Reunion to all my fellow Akitonians and Happy Fifthday to everyone else! Hope you have yourselves a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat!
Ordyt |
Y'all do you think the supercomputer thing from Noma has come to help out? I don't think the anassanoi ever mentioned having a morphic silver tide of a weapon handy, and IIRC the machine mind running Noma did have a sort of omnifluid schtick going on.
And it would have beef with the Legion as well.
Captain Flint Conners |
You know, that is entirely possible. It could also be a massive nanite cloud or something. We should ask about it if we survive.
If everyone can fly, perhaps we can take off from the top of the spire and get to the Breath of Embers quickly. I suppose it also depends how far to the south the wreckage is...
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
It could be something similar to the Chariots, which we know are shape-shifting silvery things.
Not gonna lie I suddenly got a LOT more worried than I was during the actual fight! I don't wanna lose Thaeress, Nib or even Popoko! D:
Ordyt |
Aw, bummed to have missed out on the shipyard fight, that sounds like it was pretty cool

Answer Cellion's question here rather than filling up the Gameplay thread. So first thing we have a ton of loot & logistics to sort, which I assume will be a sort of montage thing along with salvaging what we can from the Breath of Embers.
Ordyt will busy himself with anything and everything that needs doing, although he doesn't feel comfortable getting involved in anassanoi internal politics. But he'll help organize supply distribution, setting up medical stations, sorting and debriefing captured Legion personnel, etc etc.
I've got Ordyt mostly leveled up, still picking out spells but I'm pretty certain I want Mind Thrust IV. Also on the lookout for some gear upgrades--maybe some new weapons/armor, maybe some cybernetics. It'll depend on what our $$$ situation looks like.
Anyone wish to tally up the loot? I can do it again but it might take me a few days to put it all together.
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
Belmarniss' Level Up!
AB +1
Fort +6 (from Great Fortitude)
+5 HP, +6 SP
Skill ranks: +1 to Athletics, Computers, Culture, Engineering, Intimidate, Mysticism, Perception, Physical Science, Piloting, Life Science
New Feats: Great Fortitude
New Spells: Dissonance Strike (1st) (replacing Incompetence), Phase Blade (1st), Overload Systems (4th)
Ordyt |
Oh dear, our last big loot liquidation spree was late June of last year! It might take some time for me to tally everything up, thanks in advance for your patience.
And I may have forgotten, but did we find out anything more about Nurleth (the efreet who trashed us in the Archipelago) and Vessu's brother? Vessu was the DCI guy who sabotaged the Breath because Nurleth has his brother. I think it got lost in the uprising stuff but we need to check for Vessu's brother still--add that to the list for Ordyt!

Captain Flint Conners |
Ordyt for the win! Massive thanks!
Good think we have that Null Space chamber to cart that stuff around in.
I think Flint also gave the bulk of the lower level healing items to the natives to help them in their struggle, but that shouldn’t add up to too many credits.
Ordyt |

(4) teleportation pucks
Note: I think we're also missing gear from the two giants, but maybe I just missed it
Ordyt |
Ordyt would like that Black Force Field since it's better than his Purple one, and he's a maybe on the serrated longsword as an improved "bayonet" unless it's feasible to buy an even better one. Because gunblades are cool.
I also claimed one of the Commando Serums, which I wish I'd remembered during the dragon fight!
Ordyt |
Oh! Did Illor and the elf-who's-name-Ordyt-definately-remembers survive? We didn't end up needing them as backup characters after all :D

Nice tally Ordyt.
Looks like you double-listed one encounter with the nuar and the azer at the detention facility (and tried to sneak in 25 million credits... don't think I'm not onto you :D). The missing loot from two ifrits and one azer would be:
2x rhyolite magma blade
2x corona serpent laser
1x tactical maul
1x liquidator disintegrator rifle
3x incendiary grenade IIs
3x d-suit I w/ jump jets
You also were missing the advanced iridshell armor and heavy sonic bolter from this post. And also I think this post. Plus loot from Commander Gorchak.
You can certainly return to the Spire to loot the two giants. You'll find they had in total:
2x brawler frame armor
15-notch plasma fork
squad NIL grenade launcher
6x incendiary grenade IIs
advanced swoop hammer
explosive defense unit
2x juggernaut boosters
2x phase shield
andesite magma blade with an advancing fusion
deflective reinforcement

For the various questions:
- I'm not sure if you learned anything explicitly about Nurleth. You could try to follow up.
- Vessu's brother did indeed get lost in aiding the rebellion. You can try to follow up on this too.
- Ilor made it (and you'll hear a little about him in the next post), but sadly Jenan the gruff old elf was lost while running a diversion for you at the detention center that saved you from being ambushed upon leaving.
Ordyt |
Sad to hear about Jenan, and I think we suspect Verrael was actually Nurleth either shapeshifted or doing a possession thing, given their comments to us during the fight.
The double-loot post was an accident but the sneaky check wasn't :p I'll put the finally tally into one consolidated post, and then (unless someone else wants to?) I'll work on getting us a sell value for each item.
Ordyt |
*spit-take* 120,000 credits?!
Also I'm trying to find the art for it again, but apparently one of the DoF books has as its ship stats something called the Excoriation Combine Alcazar which seems like a great starting point for customizing a new ship. The artwork for it was very cool!

Sorry I fell so far behind, everyone! Got COVID on Thanksgiving week and it was particularly stubborn. I'll try to get caught up ASAP.
Marisol Welkin |
Leveled up! Put skill ranks into the usual things, grabbed a Greater Fire Resistance mod from my Exocortex, and picked Effortless Aerobatics as my feat.
Captain Flint Conners |
I’ll look through the list and consider if Flint wants any of the items. I think we should give basically all the medical stuff to the Anassonai as they struggle to recover from the invasion.

First thing on MY list is upgrading my elemental apprentice gimmick to elemental expert.
Unfortunately, the second tier of the Inheritor's Grace armor is 14th level. So close, and yet so far away! T_T

...Maybe something for your temple to award you with on your return to the Archipelago...
Captain Flint Conners |
Flint's thoughts on available equipment he might want...
Elite Semi-Auto Pistol would be a minor upgrade to his sidearm.
Pilot Handcoil would also be a minor upgrade for his sidearm (slightly lower damage, but energy weapon instead of kinetic).
Flint would be happy with either one (or neither, if others need a good backup weapon).
The minor gluon crystal is nice, but that is Flint's current solarian weapon crystal, so unless they can be combined to make the next more powerful version, I think he is out of luck with that one.
I don't think any of the rest of it is particularly good for Flint, but I may have missed something.
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
I do want the jetpack, so I can keep up with Flint and Ordyt more readily too.
I'm a little overwhelmed by the list and trying to decide what to pick out of it!
Captain Flint Conners |
Not sure how many credits worth of polyfluid we'll get, so here are some ideas for equipment for Flint he might want to have made...
Superior Iridshell is a level 12 armor that would be a nice improvement for him. It would take his haste circuit, deflective reinforcement, and jetpack armor upgrades. For the fourth upgrade, he is considering something to let him see their invisible foes...probably an Invisibility Detector.
For a Solarian Weapon Crystal, upgrading his Minor Gluon Crystal to the next higher version (Lesser) would be very cool, especially if it saves on Polyfluid expense to upgrade. If it doesn't, having one that has a stun setting might be better, like the Standard Electron crystal. He already has Soulfire, Frost, and Holy. I was thinking perhaps adding Numbing as an effect, or Merciful if I get the version without a stun setting.
Other items: He is actually missing a +2 Personal Enhancement--would probably make it for Charisma. He is also interested in a Starship in a Bottle for the ship.
GM Cellion |

You're crafting items from scratch with the Legion manufactory, so there's no chance for transforming items into higher level versions (though you can always grind the lower level one to make a higher one). The item grinder reduces items into UPBs/Polyfluid equal to 10% of the item's original price.
Marisol Welkin |
I'd like that D-Suit III armor, if nobody else does...
Captain Flint Conners |

Definitely! At 10% recovery benefit with the poly fluid, I think everyone should take items that appeal to them.
Anyone interested in either of the two small arms Flint mentioned?
Ordyt |
Ordyt wants an improved melee weapon, armor, longarm, and grenades in that order. No interest in the small arms for him, feel free!
Ordyt |

I mostly took the weekend to recharge; last week was not a good one at work, and next week isn't looking great for the same reasons. If anyone has gear they want to call dibs on just post it here, and I'll try to tally up our 10%-per-item tally so we know how much money we've got to deal with and we can push forward.
Captain Flint Conners |
Let Flint keep the Elite Semi-Auto Pistol.
He is also interested in the Advanced Iridshell armor unless that is already spoken for by another.
Other than that, he is happy getting polyfluid and seeing what he can have made!
