Dori stomps into the room with Kelvina s she avoids Ogogoro's Pride. Cabaguil walks in and slings more small balls of fire against her chest. Raspar sticks his starknife into her chest and drives it in deep. Dragging it out her blood slops against the ground as she begins to bleed out.

![]() |

Cabaguil manages to not set himself on fire as the group quickly pounces on and makes the alchemist as dead as the rest of the creatures wandering Saggorak.
The corner of this room has a stone bed topped with an overstuffed mattress and several blankets, opposite a stone desk and chair.
Zuferian keeps an impressive looking suit of +2 greater resilient rock braced full plate armor from Saggorak on display here. She does not realize that the armor’s property rune, rock braced, is itself a special rune from the finest of Saggorak’s smiths.
Zuferian has traveled to the Temple of All Gods several times, passing through the territory of the Starved faction. Among the notes kept on the desk is a detailed map showing the location of this campsite, through Saggorak and to the Temple.

Ðakaþos |

"A solid lead to the end of this line." Dak looks at the armor. "That's.... incredible."

Raspar would want the nice armor, he is currently only rocking +1 Splint.
Raspar lets others deal with the alchemist lab and dead body. His focus is on the bubbling cauldron and seeing if it might have use at the Rainbow Dreamcastle Citadel.
"Hey Cabaguil?" Raspar kicks the cauldron. "You think we could use this for the Citadel soup kitchen? Or maybe for Paella night? Could be a nice treasure to bring back, right?"

"Son..." Dori begins with a sigh,"We can't use that around food. It's covered in poisons we can never quiet clean off, no matter what we do. Even YOU couldn't clean it, and no, that is NOT a challenge."
Dori continues"Let's take a look if we can get that suit of armor to fit you properly. It definitely looks of dwarven make and I'm pretty sure we can make it fit your small frame." Dori guides the halfling away from the poison and towards he armor.

Ðakaþos |

"Take the armor Raspar. This place is awful. I'm with Dori, let's be done with this place as soon as we can."

Cuthberwyn Fizzkomingus |

Cuthberwyn takes little notice of the full plate or of the leather, as ready to be done with the Scarlet Triad hideout as the rest.

Raspar Soulsage |

"Son..." Dori begins with a sigh, "Let's take a look if we can get that suit of armor to fit you properly. It definitely looks of dwarven make and I'm pretty sure we can make it fit your small frame." Dori guides the halfling away from the poison and towards he armor.
Raspar lets himself be lead away while longingly looking at the sweet crockery.
”…but think of the stews we could make in it…” Raspar says as he is consigned to his new armor. He appreciates Dori’s help in getting it set on his narrow, yet strong, shoulders.
”…like I was saying, Dori, we’re gunna want to have something always simmering at the Rainbow Citadel for when travelers come calling…<halfling dreamstalk>…and a good pot like that would make it very easy, unless you think we need something bigger? Something that can …<halfling dreamstalk>…manage a good pumpkin stew too? You know, the good kind, with curry? …<halfling dreamstalk>…and so that’s why we should always have flatbreads ready to bake,” Raspar finally squeezes into the last of the leggings and is almost done explaining his plans for how to feed travelers and offer refuge to those who need it at the Citadel.
When the armor is fully donned, and Raspar has neatly packed up his old splint, he’s ready to move on.

Kelvin Craghorn |

Kelvin stows the leather armor, fully expecting that it will be sold in town.
"Aye, let's get moving. I've nearly had my fill of stabbing and would like to try some drinking."

Cabaguil Hobnil |

"Hey Cabaguil?" Raspar kicks the cauldron. "You think we could use this for the Citadel soup kitchen? Or maybe for Paella night? Could be a nice treasure to bring back, right?"
”Raspar, I must agree with Dori, this cauldron is not the one we want. We should have a giant one though, with a soup going for guests at any hour. Maybe a nice chili when it’s cold.” he grins at the plan.
He’ll help Raspar with his armor, and nod along with his thoughts. When done, he’ll duck his head in the last door, once the front liners have given it their approval. He’ll cast Detect Magic (•>>) and give it a sweep.
We came from the west, right? So have we tried the door to the east? Where to from here?

![]() |

Having fought yourway through the Scarlet Triad’s camp and exiting the building, you find yourselves deep in the ruins of Saggorak. As you travel through Saggorak, you encounter some of the denizens that live within.
The Starved make regular patrols of ghouls and ghasts through the city’s ruined streets, constantly compelled by their gnawing hunger, never realizing the satisfaction of a full belly or the final release of death from starvation to include some of the more powerful denizens, looming devourers: undead dwarven priests who turned away from Torag during Saggorak’s fall to beg for aid from the lower planes, only to become corrupted by those same forces. These devourers resemble nearly skeletal dwarves, save that they stand nearly 12 feet tall, and the reaching arms of partially consumed souls reach out of their ragged rib cages through ratty tangles of beard that hang down from the patches of skin that cling tenaciously to their flesh.
After ripping through dozens of undead denizens a wispy, dwarf-like wraith approaches from the shadows. “Hold, ones who yet draw breath. I come not to feast upon your souls, but to bear a message from my king, the rightful ruler of Saggorak, Old King Harral. His eyes peer from every shadow, and he has seen your strength as you wander our city. He wishes to offer you information and allies in exchange for your assistance in laying a usurper low. You would be wise to come with me, and be honored, for the Old King does not often issue summons!”

Kelvin Craghorn |

Kelvin bristles at the idea of a dead king ruling anything, rightful or otherwise, but he remains silent. Pharasma would want all of them to see their way quickly to judgement. But someone might have answers, and it's rare for the dead to tell tales.

Ðakaþos |

"Aye. Hold Raspar, eyes on the war, not the battle. I hate this too, but my goal is victory, not minor judgment."
Is that a name we've heard before or can recall knowledge on?

Cabaguil Hobnil |

Cabaguil isn't sure if Raspar has the right idea, but the undead are everywhere down here, and the party is here with a purpose. "Raspar, you could spend your life here killing undead. To do so however would be to ignore the purpose for which we're here, and lessen the glowing beacon that is the Rainbow Citadel."
"Stay your blade, and let us meet with this king. Let us seek out the lesser evil and look to the long term. We cannot do what all the dwarves have failed to do, but we can move the milestones a little further along."
Cabaguil tries to comfort his friend, knowing how devastating this must be for him.

The wraith looks on curiously as it doesn't flee from Raspars outburst. The group quickly restrains him in an attempt to try and speak some form of sense into the halfling.
"why should we not strike you down as the abominations that you are?"
"I am the King's eyes, silently watching over the city. If I die, another will follow in my place." None of you seem to have heard of King Harral, though the wraith explains. “King Harral has always been the king of Saggorak. He cannot be destroyed, and he will always be the rightful ruler of the city. The dragon thought it could destroy him, and indeed stole the Old King’s crown, but the Old King will not be removed by a usurper so easily.”
The Wraith hovers by patiently as it awaits your decision.

Kelvin Craghorn |

"How long as King Harral ruled? And just who is the usurper? If you can't tell, we're not exactly from this part of Golarion."

![]() |

“The Usurpur, a dragon invaded the city several years ago. It soon swayed the Starved to its side, but the Whispers and the Armored remained loyal to the Old King. The dragon attempted to incinerate the king himself, but the king returned, for he is forever and has been around forever.”

Kelvin Craghorn |

"A dragon? Nine bloody Hells," Kelvin sighs. He then waves a hand, as if to say 'let's get on with this'.
To the king!

Raspar Soulsage |

"I want to meet this dragon..."
Raspar also wants to meet this dragon. Of course, he wants to kill all these undead first, then go kill the dragon if the dragon needs killing.
But he's willing to be flexible about the order of all the killing.
Raspar pads along.

![]() |

You follow the wraith to have an audience with the king as the undead leads you into Saggorak’s palace. Each of the surrounding buildings looks to have been reduced to slag as they sit melted like candles.
King Harral appears as a skeletal dwarven man, with sunken green eyes and a long silvery beard that clings to the bleached leathery flesh of his jaw. He wears the tattered and singed remains of royal regalia, but no crown graces his skull. Standing at King Harral’s side are eight menacing graveknights. The graveknights seem a bit wary but ultimately allow you passage to the king since you are with the wraith. The king smiles with rotting teeth as his eyes glow. "I have heard of your prowess within the city. While many call me arrogant I am wise enough to understand that a group of your caliber requires a bit of respect."
Picture in the maps.

Cabaguil Hobnil |

Cabaguil extends his senses (link) to see the seen and unseen.
"Greetings evil king. We are adventurers, and like you, are not without wisdom. We too treat you with respect, in this uneasy meeting. It seems we each need something from each other and are, perhaps, in a position for a temporary truce to resolve those various needs.”
”Let me begin, if I may be so bold…” Cabaguil outlines our needs, in simple and direct terms. After all, if we're going to deal with this menace, best get everything we want out of him.
Sorry, the last few weeks have been somewhat hectic for me. What do we need from the undead again?

"Indeed, we may be able to help each other. You rid me of this Usurper and I can offer valuable advice against your foe."[b] He goes on to explain in detail what happened with the dragon.
[b]"When Veshumirix attacked Saggorak several years ago, the dragon descended upon the city in fury, raining down magma on anyone who dared to challenge him and many who did not. The dragon’s burning desire for power won out over the short-term thrill of destruction, and so whenever he found a battle too challenging, he retreated under the magma to rest and fight another day. Before long, I came after the dragon. In a pitched battle, Veshumirix defeated me, as well as most of my graveknight retainers. I had hoped would result, at worst, in a glorious martyr’s death became the greatest insult of my undeath, for I rejuvenated a day later on this very throne, without my crown." The undead king sneers at his own lichdom.
"Since that time, Veshumirix has been solidifying his position as ruler of Saggorak, with plans to eventually conquer Kovlar. Veshumirix will not stop at ruling Saggorak—the dragon will destroy and enslave all of Kovlar as well. Worse, I know that the dragon has allied with those surface dwellers you seek."

1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24 Religion - King, Lich?
Raspar listens, but mostly just wants to re-kill everything. And then start cleaning up the place. With a few years of backbreaking labor, this place might clean up pretty nicely.

Cuthberwyn Fizzkomingus |

If Veshumirix is on the side of the Scarlet Triad, then he is our foe, Cuthberwyn says matter-of-factly.
Perception to Sense Motive: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25
Apparently all Cuth will do is Sense Motif, which appears rather gothic.

Cabaguil Hobnil |

If Veshumirix is on the side of the Scarlet Triad, then he is our foe, Cuthberwyn says matter-of-factly.
"Truely." agrees Cabaguil. "And I can see how you make out well if we destroy this dragon for you. But we are heroes. Why should we assist you without payment or penalty? For while you may be immortal, you wish to die, perhaps even more than we wish to kill you. Maybe we can help you with that as well?"
Cabaguil is not threatening. He is merely probing a possible secondary outcome in all this. He does not like this undead king, however reasonable he may appear.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 25 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 25 + 1 = 32 (Also, shameless request (link))

"While I abhor this reality, non truly wish to die except for those that worship Groetus." King Harrel muses before clearing his thoughts. "We should help each other because without my information because the streets and skies alike are patrolled by members of the Starved Faction and their commanded Pawns, undead who have pledged servitude to Veshumirix. The Bound Faction lies all around the Temple of the Gods. I have information to help get you past them without charging headlong into Veshumirix's lair and possibly your own deaths."

Kelvin Craghorn |

Kelvin shrugs. To the group he says, "Enemy of my enemy, right?"

Cuthberwyn Fizzkomingus |

Cuthberwyn goes along, knowing that the party will eventually face King Harrel's sudden but inevitable betrayal once they aid him in removing his rival.

"As I said, charging into the Temple of the Gods would be suicide at the moment. I have a few options that may help you."
"While the Bound have not declared their allegiance to any one leader, many of Saggorak’s ghostly inhabitants maintain a presence in and around the Temple of All Gods. I bear the Bound no ill will, but you may come in contact with them. Secure something that will make you seem as an ally an not an intruder. Secure a piece of my old regalia from within the Haunted Halls should be sufficient enough. With this you should be able to avoid the Bound within the Temple." The undead King grasps at these last words as he coughs bits of dust from his lips.
"Second, you can confront the Leader of the Starved. Destroy him in his sanctum to abandon their allegiance to Veshumirix.. This should help you reach Veshumirix with little difficulty."
Of course you can always ignore this old coot and head straight there as well.

Ðakaþos |

"Given the make up of your "subjects" can you spare shock troops to aid us?" It's clear that the "lives" of such fodder of of no concern to Dak.

Cabaguil Hobnil |

Cabaguil chastises Ðakaþos, "I am not leading an army of undead for any reason." He says it firmly, and he believes it firmly.
When that issue is sorted out, he'll nod to the king, "Point us to your halls then, and we'll help ourselves to some regalia for the Bound. Where is the sanctum of Veshumirix? I think slaying him sounds like a good idea. We need to vent a little."

Ðakaþos |

Dak shrugs, he stands by the utilitarian option, but also isn't going to alienate a comrade.
