Smarmy suggest rather than destroying the weapons that Valsog gives them to the oread.
Truddig agrees with the stipulation that violent revolt is the last answer.
Contantin gives a charming smile as he rephrases the dwarf’s suggestion convincingly.
Valsog thinks about it a few moments before grinning, ”Yes that would be better, weapons in the hands of the oread would make them braver and make the ifrits think twice about pushing them around.”
Having finished at Valsog’s smithy and armory, your group moves on to the Fifth Facet Tavern. The Fifth Facet is a square, two-story, stone tavern that sits on the main roadway of Crystalcrag. The smell of charred timber and cooking food waft gently out of multiple windows hewn into the building’s facade.
The place seems rather busy with many oread workers drinking and taking in hushed tones, but then your group enterers it quites down a bit as many of the oreads watch you surreptitiously while others do so with open curiosity.
The barkeep a male oread gets your attention and waves you over to the bar first speaking in Terran language, but quickly switching to common ”Greetings strangers, I’m Delgur! First drink is on the house.” He pours you each a mug of ale.
”Heard you been taking to Valsog. News travels fast around here friend, I’ve been trying to convince the slag giant for years to stop working for Tygora and join the oreads cause. There are many here who have grievances here against Tygora, but oreads are peaceful by nature and slow to rile. I understand you have your own grievances to address seeing how the last group of visitors were abducted and I bet you and them have a connection. Perhaps if you address the crowd you may find others here will support you.”

I do - I just saw the posts at 2 am last night, and a speech from Constantin takes slightly more brain power than I had at that moment to write :-p
"Friends, Planetouched, Crystalcrag, lend me your ears!
I come to praise Tygora, not to bury her.
The evil that queens do lives after them;
The good is oft for them alone;
Let it not be so with Tygora. Let it not be said that I
Hath come to tell you of her faults;
If it were so, then you were grievous' blind,
and needed outside eyes to see, but that fault lies not before me.
Once Tygora saved this place from grave ill-
For Tygora is to be praised,
So are her thugs and her minions, all to be praised-
And that should be repaid in kind. Let her be saved.
She was your friend, faithful and just to you.
Do not speak of tyranny or ambition,
For Tygora is always to be praised.
She hath taken your children to mold them in her image,
and hold them as a most valuable ransom.
Speak not of this deed as fearful,
For Tygora must always be praised,
but see her recognition of your strength,
the power you all hold within yourselves
that she must ready so terrible a shield.
"Here, by your leave, but not Tygora's,
though not from fear would she refuse to give it,
I speak of saving her. In time, she would fall,
and all that would be remembered would be
the Tragedy of Tygora the Fool,
the Folly of Tygora the Tyrant.
Instead show her mercy - Stand with us.
Band together with your fearsome might
though all can see that Tygora fears it not,
for, surely, Tygora must be praised.
With great strength arrayed against her,
she will see reason. You will grant mercy.
Then let the mountains resound with the wish she once granted
And the deserved debt she fled.
Save her from the end she would elsewise find,
Drive her from the land that bears your name,
Drive her from Crystalcrag."
Perform (Oratory) (Guidance, Aid): 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 17 + 1 + 2 = 33 I have a bonus to influence [earth] outsider, but sadly I don't believe Oreads count...

Smarmy frowns at the thought of public speaking and looks to the bard.
Truddig slips to the back of the group.
Naevy introduces Constantin and buys the house the next round. 5gp would cover a round
Costantin stands up and speaks to the gathered Oreads.
At first, as he talks of praise for Tygora the oreads seem confused and start to murmur angerly. As Contantin continues the crowd starts to understand and sees the reason behind the silky words. By the end of the speech, every Oread is moved by the words and ready to help the group in saving Tygora from her own ambitions.
Delgur the barkeep tells the group, ”That was amazing! We are behind you all the way!”
(GM - Excellent post Constantin!)

Naevys nods grimly at the crowd after Constantin's speech. We'll be in touch when it's time to move. In the meanwhile, circumspectly head to Valsog's if you need weapons or armor.
Naevys turns to the group. I think we're done here. Let's head to the Alchemy shop.
Once they are outside the tavern she says, That went well. We have shock troops and arms. Hopefully we can get them further aid at the the next location, and maybe someone to lead them?

![]() |

"I am not the most graceful for the gift of oratory but it is to distinguish a good harant and a good speech to the troops so that you put the goose skin and get your hair. And Constantin's speech has certainly been that. The trbajo that we had to make has been made, let's go to the next place."

![]() |

Naevys tells the crowd that they can get weapons from Valsog and suggest the group visit the Alchemy shop next.
As the group approach the Everlasting Fire Alchemy shop you see a wood-and-stone structure that sits on a busy street corner, red and orange paint brightening its exterior. A sign depicting colorful vials and a beaker hangs above the door.
Your group arrive just in time to discover a confrontation between the shop owner Morak and two of Tygora’s ifrits guards who have just finished throwing several flasks of oil on sections of the buildings as Morak stands helplessly by protesting loudly! ”This is outrageous, Tygora can’t continue to demand more gold and inventory! I will not be bullied by your threats to burn my shop!”
One of the Ifrits sees you group and warns you off ”Keep your distance and do not interfere or you will be obstructing the queen’s justice!”

![]() |

Constantin draws himself up to his full height, flag unfurled and an imperious smirk upon his lips, and declaims, "If justice and not loss is what you seek,
Then now withdraw, lest pain be all you find.
The numbers do not stand with you this day."

Naevys draws a gun, keeping it pointed at the ground for the moment. She looks the ifrit who spoke in the eyes as she says, in a kind voice, Are you sure this is the way you want to go? Calistria does not short vengeance for wrongs committed and I am inclined to exact her will right now.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

Looking very imposing Constantin tells the two guards they are outnumbered and threatens them with pain unless they flee.
The half orc Warpriest of Gorum adds his intimidating glare.
Naevys draws a gun asking if they really want to cross her and her allies.
The two ifrits are visibly shaken and looked worried, they are not accustomed to being threatened in their own city, ”The queen will hear of this!”
They both cast burning hands on the oil soaked buildings as they turn and past your group.
The oil soaked buildings catch fire instantly and threaten to spread rapidly.
The shopkeep looks horrified as his hands goes to his face, ”Help please put the fire out!!!”
The Ifrits are fleeing but you can still attack them this round.
A square of fire can be put out using 10 gallons of water, or succeeding at a survival check or making a reflex save as a standard action while adjacent to the burning square. There are also several barrels outside containing sand.

Tsch. Thinking with your sword instead of your head. Who cares about them? We just roused up an entire bar full of Oreads against her. Tygora already knows something is afoot if not our names and the names of our parents. Put out the fire before it spreads and causes more damage.
Shaking her head, Naevys will grab one of the barrels of sand outside and drag it in, intending to use it to put out the fire.
I'm not sure how you want to handle actions for this - I'm assuming move to get out, then a reposition to move the barrel inside, but let me know if it would take more actions.

Constantin stares agog at his companion's bloodthirst.
"If hale and whole we seek to leave this place,
take not the lives that may be spared this day!"
Quite certain that his slender frame won't be up to the task of moving the barrels quickly, he instead does his best to smother the flames with what he has to hand, calling out to the alchemist.
"With goods as volatile as you have here,
Have you some safeguards laid aside 'gainst woe?"

Truddig draws his bow and fires an arrow hitting and wounding the blue ifrit.

Several oreads onlookers who have gathered gasp and cringe when Truddig and Oloch strike the Ifrits.
Naevys calls out to ignore the guards and put out the fire. She goes and grabs a barrel of sand and drags it to the fire. I’ll treat the sand like water in regard to the fire, and let you put out one adjacent square each round
Constantin agog at the compaions’s bloodthirst, he grabs a heavy cloth and starts to beat the fire out in one square.
Frowning Smarmy, moves forward and starts beating the fire out. He manages to put another square out.
Both the Ifrits continue to flee.
Both Truddig and Oloch can make a parting attack on the fleeing Ifrits.
The fire spreads as the flames catch more of the shop on fire.

Naevys uses sand from the barrel to put out a section of fire. She also tells her companions not to kill the Ifrit guards because they are Oreads children.
Grumbling Truddig lets the guards flee and helps put the fire out.
Silently cursing Smarmy continues to help put out the fires.
Oloch distaines the cowardness of the fleeing Ifrit and lets them live as dishonored in the eyes of Gorum. He then moves to help put out the fires.
The Ifrits continue to flee turning down the street and out of sight.
With the threat over your group quickly put out the remaining fire before it causes any more damage or spreads to more explosive contents of the shop.
Morak comes over and thanks each of you repeatedly ”Thank you, Thank you! It was most fortunate that you happened along as when you did. The Queen has been demanding more from all the merchants to finance her ambitions.”
Moving as quickly as he can, Councilor Eurdan Stonemantle arrives at the scene, ”My friends, I see you have been quite industriousness. The town’s Oread are ready to aid you and the time is now or never for you to confront the Queen Tygora!”
The shop keep Morak looks up, ”Your confronting Tygora! Here you may need these potions. It’s the least I can do since you did save me and my shop!” He hands your group four potions of cure moderate wounds and one potion of resist fire.
The town oreads assemble and begin sweeping through Crystalcrag subduing any ifrits they find. While Councilor Eurdan shows you the entrance to Fury’s Hold, Tygora’s burnished palace.
The oreads rebellion will stop any ifrits from reaching and reinforcing the palace.

Naevys moves out as she draws her pistol and fires at the orange elemental. She knows that fire Elementals are immune to fire, bleed, paralysis, poison, sleep, stunning, critical hits, flanking, and damage from precision-attacks. They take reduced damage from all physical attacks, but they are vulnerable to cold.
With a blast from her pistol, she hits the elemental wounding, but the bullet only does about half the normal damage.
Constantin strides forward and raises his battle flag as he inspires courage in his allies.
Oloch moves next to Constantin and readies his greatsword as he calls upon Gorum to protect him from fire.
Keeping his distance Smarmy fires his crossbows at the big orange elemental. The bolt hits the creature, but doesn't do full damage. The arrow hits wounding the elemental slightly.

My understanding is that fire elementals deal the damage on the hit, and then maybe you catch fire and keep taking it. But that's not wildly clear just from the Burn Universal ability.
Constantin intones an illusion to blur his outline and provide him some protection should the elementals turn their fiery ire against him, but otherwise remains in place to continue inspiring his comrades on to victory!
And Naevys should get the extra +3 to hit and damage :-)

Burn {link}
The creature deals fire damage in addition to damage dealt on a successful hit in melee.
A creature affected by the burn ability must also succeed at a Reflex save or catch fire, taking the listed damage for an additional 1d4 rounds at the start of its turn (DC = 10 + 1/2 burning creature’s racial HD + burning creature’s Constitution modifier). A creature suffering from this effect can attempt a new save as a full round action. Dropping and rolling on the ground grants a +4 bonus on this save. Creatures that hit a burning creature with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the burning creature and must succeed at a Reflex save to avoid catching on fire.
As the flames flair up and burn (8 points fire)Naevy before going out, she complains about how rude the elemental is while reloading and firing again adding a magical snowball to her pistol attack. The snowball encased bullet hits the elemental doing significant damage to its firey body.
