Anyway...

Welcome and thanks for signing up for this run of "Portent's Peril" folks!

First off, I'd like to introduce myself a bit to those of you who haven't played with me before. I'm GM Mjolbeard. I've been playing PFS for about 4 years now, much of which has included PBP as a venue. I highly value the game, and love to do as much as I can to throw in a lot of role-play with my roll-play, as the saying goes. With that in mind, here are a few expectations that I will hold for myself as well as my players in this game:

RULE THE FIRST: FUN + RESPECT = YAY!:
We are all here to have a good time, show off our characters, and enjoy a good story. A key way that you can help everyone to achieve those goals is to make sure you show respect for your fellow players, your GM (That's me!), and the non-player characters in these stories. So, for example, even if it's part of your character's background that they are a giant flirt or if you like to give super grisly descriptions of how your character finishes off an enemy, make sure to ask your fellow players if they are comfortable with that kind of role play before you engage in it with their characters. NOTE: If anyone has any particular modes of role play with which you are especially uncomfortable, please let me know either in this thread or in a PM, and I will let the whole table know, without calling out that person specifically, that that given behavior will be off-limits for the scenario. Violators of this prohibition will receive a warning via PM, and future infractions could result in a player being asked to leave the table.

RULE THE SECOND: POSTING RATE:
Please try to maintain a posting rate of 1+ post/weekday. Weekends are almost always busier for me than weekdays in one way or another, so I may or may not post during that timeframe. I'd accept the same from you. Within those posting rates, I'd love to see as much role-play from each of you as you feel comfortable with. Particularly good role-play can potentially earn things like circumstance bonuses on various rolls!

RULE THE THIRD: BOTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
If there is a situation in which you won't be able to keep up with the requested posting rate from the previous rule, please give me some notice, preferably ahead of time, though late is better than never in last minute situations. I will then "bot" your character for the period you indicated you would be absent, or will ask a player to do so if you are comfortable with that instead.
In order to make sure I am sticking as close as possible to the way you would want your character to be played, please include Botting Instructions in your character's profile, including descriptions of your usual strategies and dice macros for your most common combat actions.

RULE THE FOURTH: HELP YOUR GM OUT:
Please list important information about your character in the Classes/Levels section of your stat block. Important information includes, at minimum, your character's current HP, AC (including Touch and Flat-footed), save bonuses, and spell slots remaining (if applicable). Please also have your full character sheet available in your character's profile. If you're at all unsure what I'm talking about, feel free to take a look at my PFS characters for some examples.

RULE THE FIFTH: USE OF SPOILERS:
Spoilers will be used in a number of situations throughout this game. I'll roll initiative for combats and perception for potential surprise situations in spoilers. I'll also provide information for knowledge checks in spoilers with the DCs listed. Finally, if I have some important information to communicate to a specific PC, I will put their name in the spoiler title. Please refrain from reading the spoilers unless you make the DC with the appropriate skill check or your name is specifically listed on the spoiler tag.

We will begin play Monday of next week on START DATE, but in the meantime, please do me a favor and post the information for your character requested below using the template I've provided. This will make things easier for me when it comes time for reporting and putting together chronicles, so this is for your benefit too! You can also dot in on the Gameplay thread with your character of choice.

Greetings to all. I have two Core characters in the 1-5 range.

1st is: Bacleive. He is a 3L sword & board fighter, and

2nd is: Hannar the Wild. He is a 4L elenental(fire) sorcerer.

I would prefer Hannar, but either is fine. Whichever the group would feel is best suited.

@ Yanrgit: nice to see you again. We have played together before. I recognize some of your alts.

I would like to join with Miriel, 4th level paladin of Shelyn. That might mean higher tier, if that scares people I can go with Anastasia, 2nd level wizard.

Edit: She's actually lvl 5! I checked the chronicles and I had missed one. Now, quickly leveling her up.

Hey folks! In case you somehow missed it, the Online OP team has decided to postpone the start of Gameday VIII until September 9, due to delays in scenario support for the GMs. I can attest that, personally, I did not get my copy of this scenario until just a couple days ago, which, while it would be theoretically possible for me to prep in time for the start of the convention on Monday, is not an amount the amount of time I'd prefer to have.

So what do we do in the meantime?

Well, most of you have already checked in with your character information--thank you! Now that that part is done, feel free to go ahead and hop into the Gameplay thread and introduce yourselves to one another in character.

Hey guys! Very sorry. It's been a stupid week and a half. I'm gonna give this another serious effort, but I know I'm going to have another pretty busy couple weeks starting Friday.

With that in mind, here's my commitment: I will give it my absolute best effort to post at least once a day, though this might often have to be pretty plain in content (I hope I've given you some indication by now that I like to actually give my posts some character). If I'm not able to maintain a 1/day posting rate, I will attempt one post every two days, sometimes excluding weekends, as that's ironically a more difficult time for me to get posts in. If I can't keep up a 1 post/2 days posting rate, I will seek another GM for you guys, as I don't want to leave you all in the lurch with your characters stalled in a scenario and without the credit and potential boons you deserve.

I know how crappy it can be to get stuck like this as a player, and I apologize for my lackluster performance as your GM. I am committed to making sure you guys get your credit, though, so let's do this!

Sorry for the silence again folks. Was intending to pick up posting again earlier this week after a weekend at a friend's wedding, but travel and family time ended up taking up more time and energy than anticipated. Should be able to get back on the horse now, though.
