Even surrounding it you find it impossible to gain any advantage by flanking. The creature's form is far too malleable and offers no consistent front or back. While some of the heaviest blows nearly miss the barrage of blows is only barely hindered the elemental's flames and form resisting some of each hit. Urktar is able to taken down the guardian with both of his swings connecting.

The party is again left with another feather they can use to attempt to repair the tapestry or empower to give others a chance.

Quote:

Link to Feather Handout

  • Repair: Stopping the elemental does nothing to mend the damage done to the plane. You can attempt a Craft (cloth), Heal, Knowledge (arcana or planes), Spellcraft, or Use Magic Device check to use the feather to aid with repairing the tapestry.

  • Empower: Alternatively, you can empower the feather by expending a use of a healing ability (like channel energy or lay on hands) or an ability that does fire damage, or cast at least a 2nd level spell with the "healing" or "fire" descriptor. This will pass it to another table.
  • You are making one check (with aid attempts) to attempt to repair if you choose that. Failure passes the token to another table who can only empower the feather in order to grant it a second chance to repair the tapestry.

Because of you battles with the undead, and the remnants of the soul fibers you obtained, you can use it to roll twice on the repair check and take the better result.

    Live Exploration Extreme Maps

Your efforts have not gone unnoticed as many of the other members of the Society cheer your successes along with the natives of the plane fighting for their lives. However your own effectiveness has been regarded by the elementals as well. One breaks off and takes position on the cliff edge and begins channeling fire in a screech in preparation to unleash an inferno upon you.

After dealing with the feather you have another two rounds to prepare for the next elemental to cast more spells or heal damage.

    Initiative:

    Urktar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
    Tere: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

    Hortensia: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
    Phoenix: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

The elemental wastes no time before firing a bead of fire into the center of your group focusing on those nearest as with hostility one might fine from disturbing a creature's nest.

These creatures have 15 foot reach and you have not found the end of how quickly the can make their opportune attacks.

    Fireball Damage: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 4, 6, 4, 5, 6) = 34
Hortensia, Thran, Urktar, and Tere are being hit by the fireball and will each take 34 fire damage; Reflex DC 15 for Half.

The flames roar with satisfaction with the explosion of flame and it is unable to hold itself back from coming closer to melee, the flames arcing around it as the creature prepares to remove you all from the tapestry. The dust and sand the creature kicked up still linger about it as well obscuring the position from anyone too far away.

This is just in time for Hortensia's push forward as her glaive and the fiery form cross one another. The hit from the elemental threatens to drive Hortensia out of the plane, but if she holds firm her glaive will score a heavy blow.

The elemental is being peppered with attacks and the path to Urktar is still clearly blocked. The elemental takes off from the round and pays almost little attention to the group around it and the many eyes within the flame glare at both Tere and Urktar. It flies up to the ledge just north of most of the party as it sweeps a fiery plume at the barbarian before settling on the rock.

This spring attack movement provokes from Radagast, Seiran, and Hortensia (if not banished), but not Urktar.

    Elemental Slam vs Urktar: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25

You are correct on the saves.

For the aid token I'll pass the token in a couple hours if it isn't boosted, applying one of the special boosts you earned at random. If you do wish to pic one I'll go with that or attempt the attack roll to boost Allied Offensive. Boosting the token doesn't take any of your combat actions.

Most of the damage is absorbed into the flames, but Sieran's flail adds to damage toll to the elemental. The acid missile just barely connects with the side of the elemental. In the wake of the acid a flame-less scar is left on one side of the creature.

Someone could correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe the inspire courage and bless do add to the attack roll of acid splash even if they don't increase damage. Also the caster level check shouldn't be necessary on acid splash since it offers no spell resistance whether or not this elemental had it.

Correct. INspire courage does boost attack rolls on spells, but does NOT add to spell damage (i.e. says "weapon damage"). And indeed, Acid Splash offers no SR...a potent little cantrip that can serve Arcane Tricksters very well

Minor change to the course of events, Urktar was not hit by the last attack.

Just before the elemental can get within reach of Urktar, the combined attacks from Radagast, Hortensia, and Seiran ensure it never gets that far. Each of the three attacks barely hit and bring down the creature in a combustion of flame leaving another of the ruby red feathers in the wake.

You can make another attempt to repair the tapestry. Using either Hard Craft (cloth), Heal, Knowledge (arcana or planes), Spellcraft, or Use Magic Device. Based on previous attempt I would guess that Hotensia would be leading the effort.

After that you have nearly no rest as it seems many of the other Pathfinders are struggling against the onslaught. Another of the flaming guardians approaches.

You have another two rounds to prepare for this fight. From the pace of the fighting and the feeling about you, it seems that it would be your last fight here. Make your check to repair and any last changes to your opening combat position.
