**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT** (1 of 2)

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT** (2 of 2)

Suddenly, it becomes clear that the astral invaders’ retreat is merely a ploy. More invaders pour through the rifts to reinforce their companions. Their reckless assault tears the holes wider, and the entire demiplane begins to shift and fold. Locations fade and vanish, reappearing miles away, now separated by a wide expanse of barren, rocky wasteland. The invaders continue to pour through, and the tapestry’s exhausted repair mechanisms cease to function altogether. The triumphant attackers converge on the Pathfinders scattered across the wasteland.

Then, the sky turns red.

A primal screech pierces the tapestry, and a colossal ruby-flamed phoenix appears in the sky, its wings nearly blocking the sun. It swoops across the sky at tremendous speed, its tattered feathers leaving a trail of smoke. With another screech, it flaps its massive wings, and countless fiery feathers shoot towards the invaders. As the feathers strike, they explode, incinerating much of the invading force. Then the phoenix turns its attention to the other outsiders—the mass of Pathfinders—and beats its wings once more. A barrage of feathers strikes the wasteland, and from each resulting inferno emerges a bird of pure ruby-red flames.

Aram Zey’s voice echoes. “Can you hear me, Pathfinders? The tapestry is in its death throes! You are cut off—I cannot help you escape. Destroy the phoenixes—perhaps their magic can repair the tapestry!”

Table GMs, the Tapestry’s Last Defense condition on page 29 is in effect.

Prank War Map

Edit: you have two rounds to prepare for this fight.

The bits of embers that split off from the massive creature in the sky condense into a formless shifting elemental creature of fire and flame. It releases the roar much like a bonfire as turns full attention to your party as it hovers a dozen feet above the ground.

Make a Knowledge (planes) check if you are able and open all boxes you meet the DC for.

Knowledge (planes) DC 18 to identify:
This is a powerful elemental creature; a type of outsider made of fire. Because of the mutable form it is immune to effects requring a body, like bleeding, paralysis, poison, stunning, critical hits, sneak attack, or flanking. It is immune to fire and vulnerable to cold and the melee attacks of the creature are able to set their victims on fire.

Knowledge (planes) DC 23 to identify more:
This is elemental guardian created by the tapestry. It is imbued with powerful magical abilities including the ability of flight. Up to three times a day it can affect someone it hits with banishment, something that you can be affected on while on this plane. If the target fails to resist they will be ejected from the plane.

I'll need those reflex and will saves for Seiran. If he fails the reflex save he will take another 2d8 fire damage at the start of his turn for 1d4 rounds.

The elemental is able to resist much of the blows dealt to it. Many of the blows hit, but Hortensia and Thran just barely misses at dealing another crippling blow. After the damage deal this elemental is nearly beaten if the party can repeat the recent display.

The elemental shows little desire to allow that as it focuses an attack on Thran while another burst of animate flames erupts crashing into Hortensia's armor. Both take significant blows, somewhat dulled by the support of allies. The elemental slowly moves across the ground shifting in position, one of a myriad bird-like eyes in the fire glaring at Tere.

You are correct Radagast. I was looking at another roll.

Prank War Map

Fire Damage on Radagast: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 2) = 10
Fire Damage on Radagast: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 8) = 11

Radagast takes on another singe but his attacks, along with Hortensia's finishing blow, the creature self-immolates and burns away leaving only a single tattered ruby-red feather.

It radiates intense magic and, based on Aram's declaration, you may be able to use it to repair the tapestry.

Link to Feather Handout

  • Stopping the elemental does nothing to mend the damage done to the plane.
You can attempt a Craft (cloth), Heal, Knowledge (arcana or planes), Spellcraft, or Use Magic Device check to use the feather to aid with repairing the tapestry.

  • Alternatively, you can empower the feather by expending a use of a healing ability (like channel energy or lay on hands) or an ability that does fire damage, or cast at least a 2nd level spell with the "healing" or "fire" descriptor. This will pass it to another table.

As you complete this, you have two rounds to recover and prepare as another one of the elemental creatures near.

    Hortensia (21 damage)
    Tere (5 damage)
    Urktar (7 damage)
