Urktar should be at full health (THANKS, Seiran!), but he is fatigued for the first 2 rounds of new fight.

Wearily, Urktar sighs and moves away from the party to create some space. Then he readies to attack the phoenix should it move within reach.

While Spring Attack doesn't provoke, readied should still go off if it moves within reach.

Readied attack:
longspear inspired, blessed, fatigued power attack: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 25cold iron piercing dmg: 1d8 + 9 + 2 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 + 6 - 1 = 18

Hortensia tries to repair the tapestry again with the new feather.

UMD: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

Is there no end to these things? she says as she wearily flies into the air to engage the latest one.

Live Exploration Extreme Maps

With both the aid of Tere and Thran, Hortensia finds it trivial to activate the magic and send the bright embers of the feather to upward in frantic repair effort.

Round 1
Phoenix (20 feet in air)
Seiran
Urktar (readied)
Tere (23 damage)
Radagast (3 damage)
Hortensia
Thran (3 damage)

Bless: +1 to attacks, saves vs fear (9th round)
Inspire Courage: +2

Live Exploration Extreme Maps

Hortensia: You are correct on the critical. It is unfortunately immune.

Urktar: I know it is a full party benefit that would only be affecting you, but one of the bonuses might be helpful to you (Korada’s Faithful) as it would cure your fatigue if I'm not mistaken, and I would allow you to have activated it before your last action.

The elemental creature is barely able to hit through Hortensia's armor as she approaches, but has little desire to focus on her. Instead the elemental looks downward at the defiant barbarian and flies down to deliver another crushing blow against him before retreating back into the air while taking a wound from Urktar's longspear.

Flying Spring Attack.

Looking at the map and given our relative heights (me 15', it 20') and that I am using a reach weapon I am unsure if it can get it into range of my weapon with a 5' step? Can you let me know as that will definately affect what I do this round

Live Exploration Extreme Maps

Hortensia: Based on the positions as the ended up, yes you could get in range with a 5 foot step assuming the fly check to perform that can be made.

Hortensia's attack misses the mobile creature by a fair margin as it dodges below her attack.

The barbarian lights on fire, and the stench of cooking half-orc fills the air...briefly. For the fabric of the tapestry shreds around him, and Urktar just shakes his head and mutters some rather explicit curses in Orcish as he's sucked back to Golarion, with his hair literally on fire.

Seiran, you still have that Lay on Hands, because Urktar would've disappeared before you used it. Assuming the banish will save is still applicable? GM, you didn't specifically say it was. Or have the repairs done enough to prevent the need for the will save?

Live Exploration Extreme Maps

Uktar: You are fine, as much as one can be whole on fire, your prior Will save in the last fight is enough to immunize you against this particluar banishment effect. You are not banished.

Radagast, have you used both your wild shapes already? 6th level gets 2/day. Perhaps go for Eagle or maybe small air elemental? If you've wild shaped twice, then you could use Urktar's CLW wand on him? Better yet, create water on him, since Urktar's on fire?

Live Exploration Extreme Maps

I believe Radagast's actions are because of the complications that would be caused by turning into another form given his full plate armor barding and that transforming would negate that bonus.

Botting Hortensia based on earlier statement

Hortensia moves with her flight forward to put the phoenix within the range of her glaive and pair of devastating blows that leaves the elemental burning out and the fires waning away.

Tere is able to put another arrow into the creature to add to the damage while Urktar's flames cool down.

Urktar Burning Duration: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Concealment vs Tere: 1d100 ⇒ 22

Despite the hatred for Urktar the flames seem insulted by Hortensia's blows. "You should know better. Your kind serves order! Master of the First Vault! Yet you travel with them!" It has difficulty speaking in the common as the flames waver to a dim heat. It makes a swing at Hortensia before springing away a distance to recover and put distance between itself and the warrior.

Elemental Slam vs Hortensia: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Slam Damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8 plus Fire Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**

The colossal ruby phoenix grows more resplendent and terrifying with each restored feather that soars into the sky to meet it. The magnificent bird lets out a final screech as its shroud of flames intensifies, utterly consuming it. The phoenix is gone. As ruby ashes drift towards the tapestry, the invaders, seeing the tapestry’s last defense has failed, pour through, their entire force pushing through the largest rift in a massive final attack. The entire world shudders as the rift widens.

Aram Zey steps forward to rest under the falling ashes. “Pathfinders, you fought bravely and well, and your sacrifices were not in vain.” Aram Zey pauses, and his expression turns pensive. “But, the tapestry’s tale has not yet ended. There is clearly a force at work here that is greater than we realized,” he gestures out toward the invaders, “Furthermore, we have not permanently repaired the demiplane—we have only patched the worst of the damage and prevented irreversible catastrophe. I fear that…” Aram Zey’s voice trails off for a moment, “Yes, just as I thought.”

The ruby ashes begin to glow, faint as smoldering coals at first, and then intensifying, coalescing, and swirling in beautiful patterns as they lift Aram Zey into the air. “It seems the key to defending the tapestry is allowing its guardian to be reborn. I will do whatever I can to provide the arcane energy necessary to keep the tapestry stable. In the meantime, I hope the Society will search for a more permanent solution. I refuse to believe that the knowledge of the legendary Ruby Phoenix herself has been lost to us forever.” The ashes and Zey converge on a single point, a great ruby ember in the sky. There is a spark, and then the ember explodes. A wave of fire engulfs the tapestry as the Ruby Phoenix emerges from the explosion with a triumphant, piercing cry. Aram Zey floats within its heart, his body engulfed in ruby fire. The explosion’s flames reach the invaders first, turning them to ash and cinders. The flames wash over the tapestry’s defenders without harming them. The tapestry burns—but the fires replenish it, scouring the wasteland and restoring the tapestry’s original environments. The phoenix beats its wings, sending wave after wave of fire into the Astral rift and searing the portal shut. The phoenix soars in a great arc across the sky and flies off toward the sun.

Thank you everyone for playing, this concludes the adventure! Thanks especially to the GMs, ACG box runners, and intrepid backup GMs that made this event possible.

GMs, the house earned the Radiant Ruby Feathers boon.
