GM Hmm |

Smek successfully tricks the akata, but misses it entirely. He does notice the rival team thrashing around and chasing some kind of furry thing with multiple legs, and does not spot any surprises from Zo! yet.
Deger sighs, and double-moves.
No one is butchering the Uruzog yet.

Life science to see if Rose-5 had heard of akatas before: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
When they came out, Rose-5 said to Tyus, "I'd heard about the incident on Drift Rock as well. I didn't know they were edible though. Their head-tentacles look a bit...rubbery. Perhaps they are prepared like calamari, then?"
When it came forward and took a bite of her, Rose-5 said, "YEOWCH! I think they can understand us talking. Sorry about the edibility comment. I guess this is only fair, owowowow. Something nasty in that bite there. A toxin of some kind. Cold and shivery. Be careful, everyone."
And with that, she and Falcon attempt to take the akata down before it gets another chance to assess how edible she is.

Rose-5 lowers her weapon. Glad that no one else is going to get bitten now. Falcon beeps cheerfully. Lacking a knife, Rose-5 picks up a sharp rock from the same general area that Tyus found one in.
I don't have much experience preparing my own meat, but maybe I can help out. Falcon's beeps turn inquisitive. And if you think that electrically frying the meat will help prepare it, Falcon would be happy to help too.

GM Hmm |

With effort, you manage to butcher the akata fairly well, but had some mishaps taking care of the urozog. You think that if you try again, you might have a chance of salvaging it, but it will be a little harder given this abuse.
Can I have some perception checks?

Immediately after defeating the assembled creatures, Lethea says, "And now... the contestants enter the cooking phase of the competition. Twin outdoor kitchens complete with cooking ranges, chef's tools, and fully stocked pantries are set up in the area to the southeast of a large tree. The two teams attempt this phase of the challenge adjacent to one another."

Zo! |

"Ooh is cheating allowed? Will the teams be able to mess with one another?" Zo! is so excited, he is jumping around.

GM Hmm |

"You bet your bones it is!" Quell says. "We will discuss this once both teams have finished butchering their carcasses, after this commercial break."

Zo! |

"Ooh, you've got to be kidding me! Have we no OTHER sponsors?" Zo! shakes his head.

Slight retcon. You can also use life science or medicine to butcher the herbivore, though it is harder than survival. If anyone would like to reroll their initial survival roll as one of these instead, feel free.

"Let's go over the rules of what you can do in this cooking competition!" Quell says with a wink. “And to mess with the other team!”
★ --- ★ --- ★ --- ★
Once you properly butcher all of your meat, you can proceed to cooking. Cooking each of the pieces of meat takes place over a short phase, during which each of you can perform a single action. The options include cooking or sabotaging the other team.
Prepare Meal (Dexterity, Survival, Profession [artist, cook, herbalist]): These skill checks represent cutting and preparing ingredients.
Disable Cooking Range (Engineering): A person who succeeds at an Engineering check can disable the other team's cooking range and force them to find another heat source, magical or otherwise, or prepare food without applying heat.
Knife Toss: You can make a ranged attack roll to throw a kitchen utensil at an opposing team member.
Swap Ingredients: A person who succeeds at a hard Sleight of Hand check can swap one of the other team's ingredients for something unappealing such as R2E protein rations.

I was thinking that Deger was bad at Survival. He's actually only mediocre, I guess I had another character in mind. I'll go ahead and roll to help butcher, if it's too late disregard
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Deger rolls up his sleeves, figuratively, and gets to work cooking. He takes a large spoon and is ready to slap the hand of anyone who tries to help but is doing a bad job.

Smek peers around the cooking area. There's no 'defensive option' to prevent the enemy from sabotaging us?

GM Hmm |

You can try to watch out for that pahtra... Feel free to give me another perception check.
Deger successfully butchers the Urozog!
Meanwhile, in the creek Smek spotted another care package! A metal crate partially submerged in the pool contains an adamantine alloy survival knife, an autotarget rifle with 25 rounds, a brooch of shielding, a brown force field armor upgrade, and four mk 1 serums of healing.

Survival/Cooking: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

"On it!" Rose-5 says, pulling out her electrician's toolkit. She cuts the power to the stove first before inspecting the damage.
Since you said it was an electrical failure, I'd like to roll profession (electrician). If that's not appropriate here, I'll use engineering, for which my bonus is +9.
Profession electrician: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
"A classic short circuit. These wires are rather fragile and poorly insulated, and so current is able to leap out of the wires into other metal parts of the stove. This sort of defect is often responsible for electrical fires." She deftly removes the faulty wire and replaces it with a length of new silicone-insulated wire.
She then turns the stove back on, while keeping a close eye on the back for other signs of electrical defects.

GM Hmm |

Rose-5 repairs the stove in time for Zez'ka and Smek to join in on the cooking, each taking on different aspects of the dish, from presentation to saucing. Meanwhile, just as Rafelo and Verity put out their fire, Tyus subtly sabotages their stove. Rafelo and Verity keep turning dials and only hearing, Click. Click. Click.
Quell smacks his lips. "Can you taste the frustration of the Rivals? I'm sure it's tastier than anything they have cooking!"

Since the rivals seem to be having trouble getting their stove working still, Rose-5 decides to join Frank in the throwing game.
