The Flags: This competition involves three heavy flags. Each team begins in possession of one flag, which must be displayed prominently and cannot be stored in a bag, extradimensional space, or any other compartment. Each flag is 3 bulk, due to the use of dense metals in its construction. You can place their flag in a square, or one of them can hold onto the object. A third unclaimed flag rests near the center of the ship.

GM Hmm |

Smek can absolutely restart the beacon, and now has the beacon and a holographic image cast by Tyus! Frank plans to take the real flag and some heavy weaponry! Zez'ka jumps back and forth in anticipation!
What are the rest of you doing?

![]() |

Does Holographic Image need line of sight to stay up or just line of effect? I may not hide if it needs LOS
Smek takes a moment to activate the beacon and place it under his armor to mimic the illusion's location. He then moves to Frank and helps hide the flag on the dwarf as best he can.
Sleight of Hand/Hidin' da flag: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Smek holds up the second Commando serum, "Who else has mobility concerns? If no one wants it, I'll use it to run out with our new flag." He injects himself if no one steps forward.
Smek looks around the starting area, "Anything we can do to build-up cover for Frank?" Are the crates on the map really in the room? What are they made of? Once preparations are complete, Smek draws his sword cane in one paw and arc pistol in the other, moves to a far corner with clear sight of the door and hides.

"I am no good with those pea shooters so in zero G I will be pretty limited. Let me stand next to Frank and put on my boot clamps. I'll stab anyone who figures out the ruse. You mind standing still in here Frank?"

![]() |

Frank smiles as Derger. "I'll stay close." As then Frank jumps 'up' towards the ceiling of the ship, flips and anchors 'above' Derger. But in his eye Derger is above him.
"Down is t'wards t'enemy!"
He then leaps to cover the door.

GM Hmm |

Absolutely.

![]() |

Zez'ka opens the door and pulls herself through it, out into the air lock. Then starts to open the next airlock door.
Are they actual airlocks? And are they actually shut? I assumed they were and that this would use up her whole turn. If they're not shut, or are easier to open, she'll also hang onto the open doorway, and launch herself in a straight line forward (along the red arrow), and grab onto that wall she'll bump into (where the arrow ends).

Bot Buddy 2000 |

Oops. One slight retcon!
In your home base you all noticed one of Zo!'s locked crates that your GM totally forgot to tell you about! Given that you had three rounds and a group where just about everyone has engineering, I am now declaring that said crate is open and the gear available to anyone who wants it.
The formerly locked crate contains the following: an anchoring weapon fusion (6th) attached to a tactical semi-auto pistol, bonding epoxy, ember flame doshko, a jump jets armor upgrade, two mk 1 serums of healing, and a thunderstrike sonic pistol. The weapons all have merciful weapon fusions and deal nonlethal damage.

GM Hmm |

Zez'ka, you can just keep moving. Every door in this place opened at once! Go, go, go!

![]() |

Cool! Then she'll need to make a check to stop at the end of that movement when she reaches the wall, to avoid being off-kilter.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 Passing.
And she'll peek into the bathroom she's beside to see... a bathroom!
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Bot Buddy 2000 |

Reposting a Zero-G Primer that hopefully everyone can read. I changed the sharing settings!

GM Hmm |

It's a great bathroom, Za'zek. It even has a Zo!-endorsed shower gel in it, and fluffy towels!

Back in the break room after Zez'ka's lovely speech, Rose-5 says, "If you are 'The Rebel', can I be 'The Rebel' too? You said they are both being 'The Grump', so more than one person is allowed to be 'The Grump.' Whether I earn the title or not, I would be happy to join you in enjoying this delicious food.”
Rose-5's style of eating is far more methodical and less exciting than Zez'ka's. She takes out a plate and samples each of the goodies on offer in turn, going back for seconds of her favorites.
As the combat with the hordes of undead begins, Rose-5 comments to the rest of the group, “This is far more traditional than the other challenges so far. Be on the lookout for 'surprises'.” Despite her warning (or perhaps because she was on-edge), when the first skeleton explodes, she yelps and jumps into the air. Spinning Falcon circles around her protectively. “I'm fine, Falcon. Please just focus on the battle.” She looks a bit embarrassed, but she tries to, well, just focus on the battle.
Crater perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Breakroom Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Sense Motive (just for fun; she can't make DC 20: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 2 = 12
At the suggestion from Smek to attach the beacon to him, Spinning Falcon's lights flash between red and green, and he beeps quizzically. Rose-5 says, “How much danger would that course of action put him in? He's willing to consider it. When Smek volunteers for the task himself, Falcon beeps cheerfully.
Rose-5 helps the others open the equipment crate. Wow, there is plenty of useful equipment in here. It takes a while to switch out Falcon's weapon mount, and I'm not the best at combat myself. I recommend that someone else take the weapons and the jets. As for the epoxy...is there anything in the rules that would stop us from using it to glue the real flag to something? Smek's armor, perhaps?" She taps her lip, "No, then they'd just pick up all of Smek as well. We'd need something heavier and sturdier to attach a flag to. We will be getting a second flag if all goes well, so it could be part of our plan for that flag. Regardless, it's worth considering that the other team probably has the same supplies at their disposal."
When Zez'ka announces her plan to rush forward to claim the other flag, Rose-5 replies, “Then Falcon and I will go forward to cover you. I'm sure we'll meet some of the other team there, and it won't be easy for you to fight while carrying something so heavy. Falcon can maneuver around and attack them."

Spinning Falcon |

Falcon says in a playful voice, “I think I've done a good job keeping them from knowing I can speak, so I expect they'll underestimate me. I'll take to the sky and watch for signs of sneaky flag-thieves. If I find them, I'll point them out with a handy trail of arcing electricity. I *would* offer to let you glue a flag to my chassis if it were smaller, Rose, but honestly, flying with a thing like that? I'd look utterly ridiculous, even if my propulsors were strong enough to stabilize me.” His ocular sensors widen as he looks around at the group, hoping to have surprised at least someone.

Zo! |

"Spinning Falcon speaks!" Zo! claps. "Another unforgettable moment from Zo! productions."

GM Hmm |

Alright, I am officially delaying Smek so that we can make a little progress this weekend.
Rafelo, Shonyvyzam and Verity-5 move out of their base, behind Tillik.
Verity is using her jump jets to maneuver, while dragging the other two with a cable. It looks very undignified, and Rafelo and Shonyvyzam look like they're about to get tangled up with one another!

Back!
The equipment in the case, Jump Jets would take 5 or 10 minutes to install correct? How tall are the ceilings, would we be out of melee range?
Pre-start
Smek looks at the epoxy, then at Frank and the flag. With a smirk, "So, how attached are you to that flag? How attached are you comfortable being?" If Frank is willing, Smek will help epoxy it to his armor.
Doors open!
Smek watches as Zez'ka scuttles out through the airlock, "Be careful The Rebel. I'd hate to be the Extra Grump if they KO you!"
Smek looks at Tyus, "Don't worry if the illusion falls, the beacon should keep them on me if I can keep ahead of them." He gives her a wink as he scurries through the airlock next, over the comms "Stay focused, yell if you need help. I'll try to slow down Tillik if I can, he seems to be the most mobile in Zero-G." With his arc pistol in his cheek pouch and sword cane in his mouth I think technically I can keep both in my cheek pouches but descriptively it sounds painful. Keeping both a swift action away., Smek uses begins bouncing and scooting up the walls and across the ceiling.
He shouts down the halls, "Hey Tillik, up for a little game of Cat'n'Mouse? Or does kitty need a nappy?"

Rose-5 turns to Smek, "Don't worry, Spinning Falcon's on the case. I'm the Rebel, too, so I can look out for Zez'ka as well. Speaking of which..." She calls out to Zez'ka, "Zez'ka! If the past challenges have been anything to go by, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this place is rigged with terrible traps, and the third flag would be a perfect place for one. I suggest looking first before grabbing it. I've got my toolkit at the ready just in case."
Acrobatics to avoid being off-kilter: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
As she passes through the door, Rose-5 attempts to turn smoothly. Instead, as she bumps into the back wall, she pushes off too hard, causing herself to spin in slow circles that make it harder for her to control her movement.
Spinning Falcon beeps. Rose-5 rolls her eyes and sighs, "Seriously Falcon? EVERY time??"

She readjusts herself, getting her legs up behind her against the wall and hanging onto it with her hands, so she's ready to push off down the hall next round.
"Got it! Sounds dangerous! EXCITING!"

Deger watches the others float about the ship. He calls over his head to Frank, "Now this is a job for dwarves. Keep our feet planted on the ground, so to speak anyway."
I'll continue readying until something changes.

There is much cursing as the other two try to disentangle themselves, and Verity just drops the cable, and says, "I give up. One of us has to go for that flag!"

Rose-5 follows the sound of the Rivals' echoing banter farther into the ship. Still off-kilter after another turn, she decides to stop moving. Instead, she keys some commands into the unit on her wrist, sending an extra boost of power into Spinning Falcon's jets.
Hanging back with the group, she asks Zez'ka, "No flags in there, I take it? Well, it sounds like our Rivals are being rude to each other. Have they forgotten the FRIENDSHIP, or is this one of those times when being rude to your friends isn't rude because you like them? If its the first, maybe we can use their discord to our advantage."

"No flag that I can see, Friend-Rose-5!" Zez'ka agrees. "Oh, yes! The Rivals are very 'The Rude!' In fact, I believe they are experts at it! I wonder why they have chosen to work together, if they do not feel the companionship and unity? Curious!" With a gasp of shock, she waggles her antennae! "You wish to cause 'The Discord' among them? How naughty! Surprised! I suppose this competition does have flexible rules that reward naughty behaviour... And today I am 'The Rebel!' " Zez'ka trills for a while, clacking her mandibles in thought. "Alright, Friend-Rose-5! I will embrace the life of 'The Rebel' and buckle to your expertly applied 'Pressure of the Peers!' Let us cause, 'The Discord!' "
Zez'ka adjusts her hair. "I am 'The Serious.' " Unfortunately, a moment later she squeals, 'EXCITED!" which thoroughly ruins her newly adopted 'dangerous rebel' persona.

The Pahtra tightens the garrotte around Smek's neck. "So kind of you to BRING your flag to me, though. We take you out, get back to base, hole up with TWO flags, and win. Simple."

This GM has discovered that no posting happens in this game from Friday night until late Sunday night due to the schedules of the players. So let's just consider that a game rule for the rest of the game -- weekends off. Sound good? But anyone who wishes to post their rounds in advance are welcome.
In hindsight, I should had you all do three rounds of movement in the beginning to speed up all the zero-g positioning, and then we could have had our flag fights in earnest! Bah. At least we're there now. This zero-G stuff is as frustrating for the rivals as it is for our team. I'm starting to think that zero-G does not belong in low-level boss fights.
