Edwin crits against a priest hitting him hard.
Also, all the priests and acolytes have been human up until this point, but these guys are not human. They are masked up, so you can't tell. If you want to know which race these things are, give me an appropriate check. Hint, you can tell by the voice they are of a different race.

Is that a column or something in the center of the room? Or is that the stairs? Can it be shot across?
Also, if this is a watchtower, is there an alarm bell or something? We should prevent it from being rung.
| DoubleGold |
The thing in the center of the room is the stair, you came up. There is no alarm in this room. Whether or not there is an alarm across the walkway on the other side where you can't see is unknown to you. The priests have not yet called for help though, nor has anyone screamed in pain, so the only sounds going on, are the sounds of combat. And sounds of combat can be interpreted as practice fights with the cult

Edwin steps to the side 5ft. and swings again.

But he merely blunts his axe on the wall.
Sheesh! I can't believe how many 1's I've rolled with this PC.

Treasure a bunch of gold, priest robes, and well the only thing that is useful right now that can be used in the adventure 4 potions of healing.
You are able to uncover the masks and find out they are half-orcs.
Combat over, now what?

Search the room connected to this one. (T26)
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Halzunet moves over. He see three priests standing there. What, is it time to raise the gate? I don't see anybody coming, unless you are here on some other business. There is a lever there that raises the gate in the courtyard. You already have an escape route cleared in the basement, but here is a second escape route if you want it.
The Sentinel
|
Well this is embarrassing. The website was not updating this game for me and showing me all the posts I missed.
Sentinel catches up to the rest of the party after having raided the pantry. "What did I miss?"
Edwin Towerfall
|
"You have new orders. And a new order is that you need to raise the gate." says Edwin.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
And then he pulls out his sword obviously. Haha
Edwin Towerfall

"How do you dare question orders of the archpriest!? Shut up and do what I said or there will be consequences!"

Boss, you always make threats but do nothing. We always had the power to stand up to you, that is why you promoted us to priests. And there is no danger today or people who want in...so They all decide to take a nap on the job just to show you all how much they are unwilling to open the gate.
Edwin Towerfall
|
"Do I have to teach you a lesson?!" Edwin pulls out his sword.

Halunzet "Hal" Methrigum

Hal clears his throat and says to Edwin. "Um, boss ... Why are we raising the gate again? It'll just bug all the people inside, and make them think that maybe something weird is going on. They'll all run around, grab their weapons ... it'll be a big thing. Let's head back over to the main building."
The Sentinel
|
"You dare question the authority of those above you, worm?! Open the damned gate, or your punishment will match those who have failed us on the greatest of sins!"
Intimidate+Study Target: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 1 = 31
Halunzet "Hal" Methrigum

Hal shakes his head. "No, boss." He walks over and moves to pull the lever that'll pull up the gate.
If any of the guards try to stop him, he says, "Hey, I follow orders of the boss. You guys want to fight it out to the death, leave me out of it."
| DoubleGold |
Oh, right, if you are all headed upstairs together, you'll all need a stealth check to get past the six acolytes in the room with the stairs. Or you will need to take them out, or a diplomacy/bluff check to fool them. They know as well as you do, only bosses are allowed up there. They might think something is up.
Halunzet "Hal" Methrigum
|
"I can probably sneak in. Anybody got a silence spell or anything, so we can prevent the folks in there from alerting the people upstairs? Let me scout it out and see what we're looking at."
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Hal moves stealthily through the room, trying to identify the positions of the cultists in this room.
Edwin Towerfall

GM are you talking about 6 acolytes in room T6? And one more thing do we have some gold coins or did they took all gold from us? I know that I have left my money in the Inn. My intention is to bribe those acolytes. Any other sugesstions guys?
Nevedno de'Morcaine
|
Ok, for some reason I thought there was another set of stairs going up without going past them. I'd rather not have to kill them. I will put the high priest robes back on and try to talk them out of the room.
Fellow followers of Razmir's light. Harken. I have just received Holy Word from the shepherds. A Great Pilgrimage is coming and is almost here. We have little time to prepare. We must show our diligence in preparation or there will be punishment for all.
You and you will be watchers to notify us of the arrival of his Eminence. You go to the south gate and you to the east gate. Watch for signs of a large procession flying the banner of Razmir. When you see them come back and let us know the time when they will get here.
The maps disappeared for me so I'm guessing at rooms. I want rooms that a visitor might enter but doesn't currently have anyone in it.
You 2 must prepare the entrance chamber and you other 2 see that all is perfect in the library. No dust. No mess. All must be perfection. Now go quickly. My preparations will require someone's blood.

You got all your stuff back including gold. Even if they hid it from you, you found your gold by now. Yes, 6 Acolytes in room T6, oh and 1 priest.
Halzunet knows they are all distracted with rituals but they are off to the side a little, is able to make it halfway upstairs though.
Will update map in a minute. He sees two priest guards upstairs in the corners of the room. Their orders are to stop anyone not wearing archpriests robes. If only he could take them out silently one at a time.
Okay, I must have done something to the map, or someone else did. Will update again when I get the chance.
Map is back, slide 6
Yes, you can take out the priests with ranged weapons from the stairs one at time if you'd like. You will have to kill the priests in room T19 at some point. Though if you plan to do it stealthily, surprise round cannot be at the top of the stairs, but anywhere at the bottom of middle and they gain 3/4 cover. Yes, you were all able to find a longbow or a shortbow along with plenty of arrows. from the armory
Nevedno de'Morcaine

Pointing at the priest, You wait here until the others leave. We have much to discuss.
I will keep him distracted and facing away from the door. After the others leave. You guys take him from behind quickly and quietly.
Halunzet "Hal" Methrigum
|
Hal darts through the room, taking advantage of Nevedno's distraction to make his way up the stairs. He has his crossbow loaded and at the ready, in case things go sideways. Stealth check above was 26
