Aye! Let's find this Hjort and bring him to justice!

![]() |

”Mind your step. Hjort may have set traps, as well as a simple ambush.”

![]() |

You make your way up the stairs, and see a hallway.
Feel free to adjust the order. I am assuming that Sunlight is still hauling the chest around.
What do you do at this point?

![]() |

Bon Jon will attempt to move down the hallway stealthily, sword in hand, looking for traps and listening for any sound of Hjort or his minions.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

![]() |

You hear a commotion coming from beyond the marked door. You do not understand what is being said, though.

![]() |

Bon Jon silently signals to his comrades, pointing to the door, and when they are ready, he enters dragon style and throws open the door.
Moved my icon to in front of the door and am ready to enter.

![]() |

Bon Jon opens the door, but there is no one in the room.
The noise seems to be coming from the other side of the building.

![]() |

"Well, what are we waiting for then?" Sunlight Under Stone grumps from the rear. "Let's keep moving."

![]() |

The team pushes through, hurrying through rooms that look like they are in various stages of being ransacked. You push through, to see a half-elven man leap through the open window. Shouts in Skald can be heard from a small, frozen yard stands between rickety fences to the east of the armory. Target dummies, both for melee and archery training, stand at the far eastern end of the icy field.
In the courtyard, you see a large Ulfen man that matches the desciption of Hjort, the aforementioned half-elf who appears to not have any armor or weapons, an Ulfen woman wearing studded leather, and carrying a shield and light mace, and an Ulfen man with a crossbow and also not wearing any armor.
Notes: It is icy outside, so anyone who attempts to take more than a single move action during a round must succeed on a DC 15 Acrobatics check to avoid falling prone in the courtyard

Tired of being stuck on the stairs, Sunlight Under Stone hauls the chest through the Pathfinders. ”Someone yelling? Is that Hjort?” they ask, pausing in the far hallway.
Double move, treating chest as medium encumbrance to reduce speed to 15 ft. They do not have actions to open the door in front of them this round.

Hjort looks up the Bon Jon and the rest of you. "Pathfinders! Get down here and face me!" he cries out. "You crimes against Trollheim demand blood, and I am here to claim it! Your attacks against us were unwarranted!

Swift action to spend 1 ki to activate Draconic Fury (Acid) for 2 rounds
Bon Jon leaps through the air to confront Hjort. Using the Flying Kick style strike to leap 5' through the air as part of a flurry of blows. This should avoid the icy conditions and still allow him to make a full attack.

Bon Jon is up 10' height as well... since you are in the second story. Sorry I wasn't explicit, thought it was obvious from when you went up stairs.
Holding to make sure Bon Jon wanted to leap down, as flying kick style specifically states that he would provoke from movement.

![]() |

I'm ok with provoking (although would try to do an Acrobatics to avoid) but don't want to end up prone. I think I can make another Acrobatics to leap down and not wind up prone if it's only 10'?

![]() |

At 10ft with an intentional jump, it’s either 1d6 nonlethal or nothing with the Acrobatics. You land prone only if it is lethal falling damage.

![]() |

Bon Jon leaps down to confront the enemies.
Acrobatics, speed higher than 30: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 4 = 25
As he leaps, he twists and turns, attempting to avoid any attacks from his foes. Incidentally, I'm not sure he even provokes an AoO unless they have reach. The flying kick style strike provokes AoO from movement "as normal" but Bon Jon isn't passing through a threatened square as he leaps down unless they have reach.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
The flying kick movement (10') is part of Flurry of Blows, so unless Bon Jon had to move more than 10', the rest of his turn should stay the same as posted above.

Bon Jon, you didn't do more than a single move, so technically no need to roll the acrobatics. However. you would technically need to do am acrobatics check if you are actually jumping. My read of the ability says you "the monk can move a distance equal to his fast movement bonus", which is not necessarily a jump. However, again you did not double move, so no problem

![]() |

The ability Bon Jon is using is the flying kick (unchained monk) style strike.
Whenever he makes a flurry of blows, he can designate one of his unarmed strikes as a style strike. This attack is resolved as normal, but it has an additional effect depending on the type of strike chosen.
The monk leaps through the air to strike a foe with a kick. Before the attack, the monk can move a distance equal to his fast movement bonus. This movement is made as part of the monk’s flurry of blows attack and does not require an additional action. At the end of this movement, the monk must make an attack against an adjacent foe. This movement may be between attacks. This movement provokes an attack of opportunity as normal. The attack made after the movement must be a kick.
So technically there's no move action at all - there's just a special 10' of movement that's included as a bonus on the (full-round) flurry of blows action (which is important because if he had to "move action" the 10' to get to the foe he couldn't have attacked three times with a flurry). The ability says that you "leap through the air" which is why I interpreted it as saying that it would avoid the icy conditions, but I suppose one could say that's just flavor text. Regardless, there's definitely nothing in the ability about requiring an Acrobatics check to Leap (as per the normal skill rules).
