Thanks for the reminder about posting my action. I was certain that I had put in the action but then I went back and checked my post and sure enough, it's not there...
"Perform" is listed as a skill in order to influence Wyssilka. Does that mean any type of Perform(*) skill?

Thalasou Eidelhan |

I posted it in my dice roll: "Perform(Strings) to influence Wyssilka".
If that's not ok then I'll post it differently next time. It's too late to edit now.

My apologies for the bare bones post today, I forgot that I also had to prep two more senators, and ran out of time. Especially since the extras don't come with stat blocks, so I had to figure out what might make sense. So yes, you can harass me if they don't make sense :-Þ
@Delena (& all): Remember to explicitly list all actions, including spells used for role-playing. I suspect you had daze in mind, but I am half tempted to make you expend hypnotism. Casually walking up to someone you let get a running start and then threatening them for a bit would probably take more than the six seconds of inaction provided by the cantrip. And remember the general rule: if you don't explicitly list your action, you are stuck with my guess.

Lady Delena |

Sorry about missing a day, I had a minor medical issue that messed up my schedule.
Now I am on a vacation trip and can use only mobile. I'll try to post every day, but quality can suffer a bit. How can some people manage to live with just tablets and phones? The UI is awful.

Tiber Graccus |

I don't mind posting on my phone, but patience is a huge part of it. I've heard some people make shortcuts for the formatting stuff. For example, instead of typing out "[" then "b" then "]" (and then having to close it out, they would have created a shortcut to just have to type "[" then "b" to get them the opening and closing for bold text. Then they just have to type out what they want. I haven't tried it out, but I also don't do it often enough to really mess around with it :)
Treason Day: It was decidedly unpatriotic. For having lost a colony on this day, I was expecting riots in the streets and anarchy to reign at the unreprimanded loss of the best country the universe has (and will) ever seen, but was sorely disappointed. People went about their day as though America didn't even matter! *sobs*
London has a decent number of expatriates so there were some little things here and there. It was my first 4th of July without fireworks though! Even in Cleveland if we weren't feeling celebratory we could watch the fireworks at Progressive Field from our house. There was also no build up to it (obviously) and exactly zero overly patriotic advertisements/sales here (again, obviously). It was strange being on the outside looking in (I've never been particularly patriotic, but it was still odd not being immersed in it) and it also made me realize how America-centric the internet can be. For example, Reddit was bursting with America posts, but those are basically irrelevant to all non-Americans on the site. I don't really see any other country's celebrations on there!
EDIT: We have a free influence check on one of the two new senators. Should we make that once we know what the skills to influence them are?

RE: Treason Day -- a British co-worker refers to the 4th as "Good Riddance" day. :-)

Pavo the Bard |

By the way, it is one free check each, not one total.
What is a 'free check?' An extra one in a social round?
I'm going to proceed under that assumption with my next post. Ignore the second roll if I'm wrong.

Pavo the Bard |

Ah, I missed that (I have a good reason!).
...and I could pound Thalasou for jumping on the NPC influenced by Diplomacy when there's a perfectly good Knowledge (history) that he could be using instead of my meager +2.

Tiber Graccus |

Sorry to hear that Pavo, hope everything works out as well as it can!
As for our plan on swaying Cicato: Do we want to try to gang up on him with bluff? I don't have any of the skills to try to discover his weakness and Tiber's guess didn't appear to work. If not bluff, I'd say diplomacy since we get the highest bonus when using either of those (between wine and the A2 area bonus).
GM, I can't remember: do you want us to declare a lead roller or are we taking the highest as the lead?

![]() |

@Pavo: Take care of yourself! We'll still be here when you're healthy.
@Tiber: Primary needs to be declared before dice are rolled.

I strongly prefer that these discussions happen in character.

Habits die hard it seems!
Related to that, but not to our game: Smart Change is an awesome book about habits. The girlfriend and I have been using it a lot to get healthy and start my own business. Definitely recommend it for anybody who wants to work on self improvement.

Pavo the Bard |

Thanks. Wife brought my ipad this morning, and there's wi-fi so I can make an effort.
Hope they let me out if they're not going to do anything drastic. There's no rest in hospitals for those just barely sick enough to be admitted like me.
Pavo has Disable Device for attempting the weakness discovery. It might be useful to secure that before trying influence.

Thalasou Eidelhan |

Wow. That is comprehensive. I like it.
I also like what you've been doing with all of these social interactions. It has made things a lot easier to understand.

Ayalina Songbringer |

Okay, sorry for the brief absence guys. I was in transit and didn't have the network access I thought I would. Finally arrived in Texas, though, so I'll have internet again! \o/
Having said that, I like the spreadsheet - that looks super detailed!

Pavo the Bard |

Spreadsheet looks nice--my old home group did a similar but nowhere as extensive thing for our APs--which parts are whose responsibilities?

Tiber Graccus |

I like the spreadsheet too! Responsibilities for it are a great question that I will echo.
Ayalina, how does it feel to be in the best state in the US?! There is no bias here what so ever, but Austin is pretty great if you are in that area.

Ayalina Songbringer |

I'm down in McAllen, so I haven't been able to poke around Austin or Houston, but I've been enjoying it so far. :) My family moved here last year, so they've been complaining about the heat nonstop. :P
Just to clarify, it looks like "Items" is usable items and "Coins" is money/valuable loot found... Or am I reading this wrong?

![]() |

Re: Responsibilities
It would have to be you guys, as I'm already not getting done all of the things that I want to for this game. Which parts we want to use and who handles them would be part of the decision whether to do it at all. That said, we aren't using the XP or downtime systems, and achievements and trophies seem like fluff that could be skipped.
Re: Items/Coins
I read it the same way.

Ayalina Songbringer |

Then it would seem that the "Items", "Coins", and "Calendar" functions are the most important for us. Er, and maybe "Summary"?
-raises hand- I don't mind keeping track of items and coins going forward, but the calendar is probably going to be beyond me with all of the little details I keep missing.

Pavo the Bard |

I'm glad that I didn't read anything that would have spoiled that.
Clarification: the murdering warriors came from among the crowd and not the Ulfen Guard, who themselves seem to be just as surprised by the mayhem on the senate floor?

Thalasou Eidelhan |

I make it a habit to read the gameplay thread BEFORE the discussion thread always and this is why!
I'm also looking for clarification. I see four groups described. Are some of them the same?
"dozens of warriors" from the first paragraph.
Ulfen guard
Masked soldiers guarding the doors
Lion Blades
I expect that the "unknown attackers" in the last paragraph is one of the first three in my list.

![]() |

First off, you should be confused. Nobody has a clue what is going on, or will for quite some time. The "bad guys" are not dressed alike, they aren't the same race or nationality, and they don't even all know each other or coordinate. It is an utter shit show.
The Ulfen guard are just defending the Grand Prince, but doing so by killing anyone and everyone who gets in arm's reach.
The dozens and masked warriors seem to be on the same side, but only because they are both causing trouble. They are not communicating with each other, but neither are most of the attackers. Did I say that it's a real shit show?
The unknown attackers includes those two groups.

Guys, guys, I finally rolled higher than a two. /weeps a little
Also, nice descriptions. I felt a little claustrophobic reading through the post and imagining the chaos, being buffeted by the strangers around us trying to get to safety and the fear-tinged violence that would break out as people turn to harm in their bid for safety.

Tiber Graccus |

Is my shield on, or would they have had me take it off too? If it is off, is it also peace-bound?
Irrelevant, but curious: how do effects that ignore difficult terrain interact with x4 difficult terrain?

Thalasou Eidelhan |

From what I can tell, peace-bound just means it takes full round to equip the weapon rather than a simple move action. Is that right?
