Threat!

The object is destroyed in a shower of parts courtesy of a rapid one-two delivered by Jack and Aurus. A gauntlet here, a visor there. It's a bit messy considering how small the room is, how many various pieces of armor clutter the place from the defeated foes, and how the action has left its inevitable mark in toppled armor stands, displaced shelves, and splayed (once neatly stacked) piles of chain shirts.

perception rolls:

Uldar Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20; darkvision
Goldur Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25; darkvision
Nemrok Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 17; darkvision

Jack Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Mao Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

TBC once I get to the module booklet.

Jack starts digging around for useful equipment.

In particular, I am hoping for arrows :-P

The room is filled with heavy armor and shields, probably worth about 500 gp. There does not seem to be any exit from the room, but Jack is able to identify a secret door leading out from the room. No arrows, but if the place has a room for armor it probably has one for weapons and your 'host' could probably lead you there.

Speaking of which, he has been monitoring the fight from the periphery, his head over the edge of the trap door giving him a perfect view of everyone's feet.

"That was well done. No idea why they went all nutso on you all. They never attacked me - I'd have been toast with no weapon capable of even denting them... Did you touch something?"

Actually, I forgot he was even there, though, indeed, his weapon would have been useless! You could make a DC 18 int roll to guess why they attacked you and not him if you are curious.

Seconded!

Aurus takes out his wand and begins to tap his bruises and abrasions. "Anyone else need a light?" he says, waving the stick of glowing positive energy about.

Healing: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (7, 8) + 2 = 17

When nobody answers Aurus, the group descends and travels to the other ladder, ascending into another room very similar to the room they just vacated except a lot more neat (not having just experience a pitched battle in confined area) and except that the armor in this room is of the lighter variety. No suits of plate armor ready to pounce so Aurus is able to enter without mishap and anyone else as well.

More details to follow when I have the book at hand. I won't make you say the magic words 'search the room' though you can if you really want to. Do you all want to set up a SOP in discussion?

Aurus begins looking about the room for any signs of potential trouble.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Right off, Aurus spots a nice looking ring, tucked away out of sight and behind enough stone that the detect magic's did not flush it out. I'm going to assume that someone will have a detect magic blazing any time you search a room. Another thing I won't make you say.

As soon as he brings it into view, whoever has DM going will eventually be able to determine that it is magic.

Anyone want to guess what it is? Better yet, anyone with detect magic want to roll a spellcraft to know for sure?

The items in this room are as valuable or more valuable than the ones in the other room once you take the ring into account! Well, assuming it's not a worthless glamour or cursed :)

Yes, you guessed right. It is your staple ring of protection +1. In pathfinders if you ever find a ring at low to mid levels, 90% chance it is a ring of protection +1, and a cloak is a cloak of resistance +1. So who wants to wear it?

Also, where to next? You have 4 secret doors to choose from and the whole out of doors.

I still think trying to catch Goblionoids napping in the barracks is a good idea...?

You get to the secret door and Akre points out a peephole and grimaces. You soon find out why. Upon peering into the other side you see a group of 4 hobgoblins playing a game with two rats where each holds a rat and tries to get it to draw blood on the other's rat or the other player. Winner gets to eat the rat. Raw.

The hobgoblins seem to enjoy the game immensely and they have a cage with about 4 more of the hapless creatures. Even if rats are low on your list of 'things that are bad', it's hard not to feel sorry for the pitiful things.

None of them are armored but two carry longswords and two carry nice looking composite longbows and a shortsword.

The pathfinders burst (well file) through the door, trying to be as quiet as they can. They do manege to surprise two of them.
