I expect all characters to have a tagline covering at least the information given here before we begin.
As well, please have the majority of your character sheet uploaded (at least skills, saves, attack and damage bonuses with weapons).
Otherwise my expectations are mostly about having a fun time, and keeping things moving.
Things that I feel help with both of those:
Clarity - If you can be clear with what you're communicating, things will move more smoothly, allowing for more fun, and less stress.
This includes formatting "such as using text like this" (bold and quotes). Internal thoughts can be similar, but maybe italicized instead.
I love flavor text, and giving more of a description of what you're doing. But please don't bog down the gameplay thread with so much flavor that people don't want to read.
And I strongly discourage internal monologues. Quick thoughts such as "THAT was mean!" are fine, but if you are typing several sentences that no other character can hear/interact with, it doesn't do much for anyone else.
Efficiency I will roll most of the dice rolls that are appropriate, and that I can find. You are free to request and roll most social rolls, and obviously your turn in combats. (If you are subject to an effect that requires a save, I will make the save, and tell you the results. This is faster than waiting for your save, then waiting for my response)
That being said, my next point is:
Consistency - I will try to post at least once a day during the week (usually evening for me) and would like to expect the same from you. Some days I may be able to check an additional time, and would use those times to help keep things moving, but not up my expectation of anyone.
That being said, if you do not have anything to contribute to a non-combat encounter, don't feel the need to post until something comes up that you want to act on.
If given an opportunity, or your turn in combat comes up, I will bot your character (helpful to have full character sheets in profile) if you do not post within 24 hours. Some GMs may place you into delay, but that can slow down combats, and put a lot of pressure on the remaining players. If I have to bot you twice, I may continue to bot you without waiting 24 hours, until I hear from you again.
Communication - Talk with me. I'm a pretty easy-going person. I'm a real person on this side of the forum/GM Screen, I recognize that you all are too. Sometimes life comes up. Family, work, conventions. If you're gonna have trouble making time for the game for a bit: let me know. If I've botted you for a while, let me know when you're back.
If something I or one of the other players does bothers you, please let me know.
I think that's most of my stuff for now. I hope to see you all start dropping in and look forward to having fun!

Hello! I'm looking forward to playing my first spontaneous caster with you all. I'm fairly new to PbP, and am open to any and all feedback.
I'm on mobile at the moment and can't update my parts of the slides. I'll be sure to do that this evening.

![]() |

Hey hey, looking forward to the game. I filled in my entries on the slides.
I should note that I've purchased a couple cheap, normal weapons for Valon. One waveblade, one sling, and some bullets for the sling. Gives a little more variety in types of damage he can do, but it cost a grand total of... 5gp, 2 sp. So hopefully that's okay.
Also, here's a reference image to give a rough idea of what Valon's wearing at the moment. He's got more layers on, he's not barefoot, and the sleeves are a bit longer, but it gives an idea of what his clothing looks like.

Daji's all set, and slides are filled in!

Meetings today with Boss's Boss's Boss in from the other side of the country today. My post(s) today may be a bit delayed.

![]() |

I'm going to put something to a player's vote of preference.
With initiative: Do you prefer that I put player's turns back into the order of actual initiative rolled? Or do you prefer that everyone in between each of the baddies/NPCs can post (within the 24 hours) that matches their real-life time frame, and those turns take place in the order they were posted?
Example being this combat. If initiative order: Caleyn wouldn't get the Bless to her hit roll, because she rolled higher. If post order: Daji posted earlier, so she would get the benefit of Bless.
Thoughts?

I've chalked it up to GM preference. As long as there isn't meta-gaming discussion, I personally don't see a problem, but if you're a RAW person, the actions would go in initiative order. So I'm indifferent. This time it benefits us to do it in post order, and there'll be times where it hinders us. Even trade.

![]() |

I think "block initiative" resolved by post order is somewhat easier for PbP. That way, you don't have to redo your action if the person who went before you but posted after you made your action irrelevant or impossible.
For example, if I were to take a ranged attack, but then Valon were to get into melee with my target and give me a retroactive -4 and cause me to miss on a shot that I wouldn't have taken.

I usually go with "this chunk of players can go in whichever order" and take actions as I get them. If someone was going take an action after another player they would just delay anyway. Part of playing in pbp is not using strict initiative to keep things moving.

![]() |

k. I plan to run as "block/PbP" initiative of post first go first, then. Unless the remaining 3 players stand united in opposition. :D

![]() |

For any players that may not be based in the United States, yesterday was a holiday for us, so that's why I didn't update PbP, even though it was a Monday.

I have seen a crazy number of climb skill checks lately. I have a barbarian that fell 70 ft in Night March of Kalkamedes, this, and Saturday I ran Down the Verdant Path for my local group and knocked a pre-gen unconscious from non-lethal damage because they couldn't climb out of a frozen lake. That last one could've been a TPK if not for a summoner's eidolon.

![]() |

Yeah. You guys are climbing a mountain range known as "The Wall of Heaven" so hopefully you feel a little more prepared for these climb checks, rather than other scenarios that are a bit more surprising (climb checks to research a library, anyone?).

![]() |

Also, folks! Since PF2 is coming out soon the Organized Play people will be taking a "snapshot" of PFS games played sometime in July. The more PFS games played/GMd at that point, will determine the number of scenarios people are allowed to replay in PFS1 when PF 2E launches. (More details in this blog.)
So! I'm going to report this game as soon as I get all of the information from you guys (will issue chronicles after we're done, and can still make changes to the reporting later (so don't think your characters become invincible or anything! :P)) to ensure that everyone gets credit for this game as well!
Please give me the following information for the characters you are playing (please and thank you):

Apologies for the absence, I'll try to post tomorrow morning and hopefully get things rolling on my part. Just in case, though, Valon does have melee weapons he can use that still take advantage of his Flurry of Blows feature. Down 18 hp though he might back off a little.

![]() |

Yeah, no worries. I figure "default" would be Unarmed, until you realize things are a little chilly.
But yeah, this is a tough creature.

![]() |

I suppose I could drop entangle to summon something for a round. Im only lvl 1 so it wouldn't be around long.

![]() |

Summoning an eagle for one round isn't the worst idea. Don't make the same mistake my druid made and summon a stirge. Waste of a turn that almost got him dead, lol

![]() |

Sorry guys. The holiday threw me off. I'll be back on track tomorrow.
