Hearing the commotion, Kardas directs Mantis to fly into the room. Seeing the spider, he sends Mantis flying around, dropping his lance once again and pulls out his sword. Once Mantis has reached, he chops down upon the critter.

Toivo urges Wuffles towards the sounds of the fight, occasionally bumping into the three people lined up in front of him. "Excuse me blind man on a dog coming through. Opps, sorry, uhh Princess Mindy? Op, That hard metalic surface must have been Marutson, sorry! And then that heat has to be Zeebo, thanks for getting out of the way!"
AS he gets close enough to the skittering noise that must be the spider, Toivo brings Wuffles to a skittering halt and fixes his mental attention on the spider, his empty eye sockets boreing directly into the creature's back.
With out taking his sights off the spider, Toivo runs through a clearly well rehearsed series of gesture that culminate in the shadow of the celestial eagle spliting and taking on the form of another shining eagle, though something seems off about it.
Shadow summons, double moving mount Concentration check, DC 11: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Free action to set up a Hypnotic Stare, and a Standard to Summon a Shadow eagle. The spider needs to make a DC 13 will save (with a -2 penalty) or the eagle can deal full damage. Also, Toivo will apply paingful stare to the next attack to hit the spider.

Wuffles, finally able to join in on all the fun, barrels through the crowd of people in front of him towards the sound of play. He skitters to a halt beneath the spider at his master's insistance. Unable to do anythig from the ground, Wuffles just barks up at the creature, his tail wagging.

The partys assails the spider and knock it out down off the wall and you take some time to look around.
A small cocoon hangs in the webs, holding the remains of an unfortunate dog that fell into the spider’s clutches. The desiccated carcass is still wearing its leather collar, which is studded with lapis lazuli stones and has a silver tag reading “Kita.”
Venturing into the tower’s west wing, you find it mostly choked with rubble, but a door in the eastern wall is still accessible. The door leads to a stone spiral staircase that runs through the center of the tower. Unfortunately, the stairway is also blocked with fallen rubble. To explore the tower’s upper levels, you will have to go back outside and attempt to climb the tower’s exterior walls at least to the next floor.
The collapsed part of the tower require a base DC 15 to climb
The staircase used to lead down to underground tunnels, but this exit collapsed from the aftershocks, sealing the tunnels.

Mantis has climb speed. However, although it can carry up to 585lbs, I don't think it is large enough for anyone else to ride. However, they can go up first and let a rope down. But just realise Kardas forgot to buy rope! Anyone?
"Anyone has rope?" Kardas grunts. He waits, ready to ride Mantis to fly up to the upper levels.

After some clambering, between Kardas's Mantis mount and Zeebo's robe, You make your up to the second floor from the outside end up in the crumbling remains of a room that now serves as an open landing for doors in the northwest and southwest.

Judging from the shelves lining the walls, this darkened room might once have been a storeroom, though its contents have long since succumbed to the passage of time. A crack in the northern wall has apparently let in some rainwater, which has collected in a large puddle on the floor.
From the pool near the crack you hear the crackle of sparks and a small lizard near the pool.

Maruston strides up and takes a good chunk out of the lizard, but it still snaps. However, Mindy's eagle swoops, and misses twice, but on the last bite picks up the lizard and tosses against the wall, dead.
The room is silent expect for the small crackles from the corpse and the dripping water.

"It's a shame that so many animals must lose their lives this day. I understand, it was a dangerous thing. But still sad that it lost it's life."
Zeebo says a small prayer over the animal.
"It would be a shame to waste all this meat, anyone hungry?"

Kardas looks down with mild irritation at Mantis, for being rather ineffectual in the combat and getting itself injured. Rather grudgingly, he pulls out a wand and uses it to restore his steed.

Racks for weapons line the walls of this chamber; above the racks hang various shields, pieces of armor, weapons, and standards on display. Most of the racks are empty, but a few weapons remain in place. A horrible stench fills the room as well, akin to the smell of rotten eggs mixed with the reek of an open sewer.
