"Us and what army?" Nik replies.
Rinika

"Isn't the army your job? And Akrynn, yeah, it will be once we have control of it. Get ready to buckle some swashes."
Conor the Wanderer
Conor looks at the tower, and at the bantering group, then back to the tower.
"Uh, I'm with Nik."
Nikrir Leldro
"Thanks, Conor, but I don't think Rinika is convinced that you're a one man army."
BTW, I could cast Levitate on one of us. Not sure how anyone else would get into the tower...
Conor the Wanderer
Conor chuckles.
"Oh, I think I could take it. Just don't want to dull my sword."
Jek Tal'dor
"It's headed right toward us. Let's finish our planning somewhere else." Jek starts walking to get out of its path.
Nikrir Leldro
"Thank you." Nik says, as he follows Jek a little way off the trail.
"You always were reasonable when push comes to shove."

Even trying to avoid the strange chicken legged tower does no good, it alters course for an intercept path! Right when the thundering castle looks like its about to trample over the party it suddenly stops and squats down. A shuttered and hinged window high in the tower wall springs open to reveal a diminutive dark-skinned man smiling at you, "Ah, hello? Yes? Please to pardon intrusion. Seen you gentles a group of ... creatures with many bottles, yes? Am looking for these. Am looking to purchase more wonderful bottles, yes? Hmm?"
Nikrir Leldro
"Yes, actually. We have seen those Khaasta. We were following their trail down the way you came. Which makes me wonder where they've gotten to..."
Nik looks to Rinika and then back up at the small man.
"Also, we like your tower. Got room in there for a few more?"
Conor the Wanderer
Conor boom, "Ah! The very same group we were looking for! This is one nice... tower walker ... thing.
Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Nikrir Leldro
oh yeah, diplomacy, that's a thing...
Diplomacy (aid another): 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 2 = 14
Rinika
Rinika auto-aids on diplomacy. "Sir, that tower does look awful lovely and our feet are so sore from walking for so long..."
DM_Delmoth
"Ah, yes, please be with entering." The man flicks his wrist and a glowing outline of a door appears at the bottom of the tower. When the party enters they are greeted by a pair of spider monkeys wearing fezes. They bow and lead you up a spiral staircase adjoined by several finely adorned rooms separated by walls of rice paper.
You are led up the tower to a dining room laid out with a lavish array of curried meats and rice wine all catered by invisible servants. The man bows at you in greeting, "Yes, please make with calling Tiac Rami No. Many say you khaasta walked there? Have you bottles, purchase? Make with trading."
Jek Tal'dor
Jek thinks about responding but comes to the conclusion that everyone may be better off if he just smiles in the background for the moment. He begins looking from dish to dish for a vegetarian option and briefly considers nibbling the rice paper walls.
Akrynn
Akrynn enters the Tower. The druid views the inside, the monkeys with fezes, the spread. He just shakes his head.
So, exactly why do you want these khaasta? Because we plan on beating the s$&+ out of them.

Tiac Rami No answers, perhaps not quite understanding Arkynn's colloquialism, "Am looking to purchase more wonderful bottles. Purchase more yes? Not purchasing excrement" He pats a spell component pouch, "Ah, have enough now, yes."
He motions for Jek and anyone else not sitting, "Please commence eating."
Rinika
Rinika isn't one to stick her nose up at a free meal. She sits and starts hungrily devouring meats. As she eats, she questions their host. "Tho, wha you fine dose guys wi' da bobbles? We though' we wa fowowi' dem, bu' dis towa come thtompin alon fwom wha dey wen'"

Somewhat reluctant to enjoy the meal laid out by this all-too-friendly host, Nik also starts eating, though much more slowly. "Yeah, why were you coming towards us? The bottles guys were headed the other way." He says before stuffing a large morsel into his mouth.
DM_Delmoth
Tiac Rami No nods while smiling and says, "Ah yes, divination you know of khaasta. Strange no divination khaasta. Make with travel in direction now. Ah please be pardon." The strange spellslinger gets up and walks into another room but you can hear him speak through the paper walls at length.
DM_Delmoth
Nikrir Leldro
Nik nods in acknowledgement and then shrugs when the funny tower owner decides to have a chat in the other room. He continues to enjoy the free food.
Jek Tal'dor
Jek smiles and waves at a spider monkey.
"Hi! Can you talk?"
DM_Delmoth
The Spider monkey slams down a mug filled with a kind of wine in front of Jek, screeches, and then runs off. It begins to retch as soon as it's off the table.
Tiac returns shortly and makes small talk with the party, as much as he can in any case.
Riding the tower as far as you can? Or making an escape? The tower is moving at a blazing 25 miles an hour, which is still much faster than you could walk. If you're staying are you doing anything while riding? You have about a day to pull something before the next thing happens.
Conor the Wanderer
When Tiac leaves the room, Conor looks around and mutters to the group.
"OK geniuses we are on this thing... what now?"
When the eccentric man returns the bastard stays quiet and watchful, concerned that the nutbags giving them a ride was going to try to kill them any minute.
and this monkey gives me the creeps
Nikrir Leldro
yeah, beats our 24mi/day by quite a bit. Though if it takes over a day to catch up, I guess that means the lizards are going really fast too xD
Nik tells Conor "We can watch and wait. See if there's a good chance to hop off or... 'chat' with the Khaasta without pissing off the wizard."
Hmmm, I wonder if Jek can fit through one of those windows...
Nik finishes eating, and then attempts to watch the road ahead, hoping to see the Khaasta first.
DM_Delmoth
As you travel at the land around you becomes more fertile and lush. Tiny brooks wind their way through gentle hills to nourish copses of trees that grow more and more common until you find yourselves approaching a thick forest. Tiac does not command the tower to slow down and it looks like you will plow directly through the trees.
Your host suddenly starts to fade away.
You have 1 round of action.

"Hey Tiac, where are you going?!"
Nik slaps his forehead.
"OH hells. This is some sort of trap, isn't it?"
The tower had some sort of opening down below, right? Were there windows? Nik will head down there if so, otherwise he'll just try to climb through the nearest window...
DM_Delmoth
Yes there is a window, Nik will get to it and manage to open it if he wants this round. He can also start to head downstairs but won't make it out of the tower this round.
Jek Tal'dor
Jek sighs at the spider monkey's unsurprising rejection. Giving up on both the food and new company, he stares out at the landscape.
As greenery comes into view he smiles. That's more like it. Fresh grass. He couldn't wait to disembark. Just as he works up the courage to ask their host to stop for a quick munch, he sees him start to fade away.
Hearing Nik, he yells "Why isn't anything ever safe here?!"
Jek runs as fast as he can down the spiral staircase towards where they came in. Run: 4x30'
Conor the Wanderer
"I knew it.." Conor growls as their host fades; then looks around the room as Jek dashes for the stairs.
if Nik goes for the window I'll follow there, else I'll 40' run down the stairs after Jek
Akrynn
Akrynn just shakes his head as the foliage begins to spring into view.
As their host fades away like the druid's peculiar belief of normalcy, Akrynn goes to the window to watch the towers trajectory.
So, what the f&&! now!
Rinika
Rinika perks up when the strangle man disappears and dashes into the room he had gone into earlier, looking for any combination of jewels and/or likely control mechanisms.
DM_Delmoth
Nik opens the window in the room they're in and the fresh air assaults his nostrils. Rinika finds a locked chest in a well adorned bedroom, she manages to put her paws on the chest to claim it. Jek and Conor race down the spiral staircase central to the tower, they even manage to reach to bottom level. But they find they are trapped with no apparent door.
Before the tower can cross the threshold of the forest it too begins to fade and disappear. With nothing to support them the party plummets to ground.
Arkynn falls 50ft: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 1, 3) = 18
Conor falls 20ft: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8
Jek falls 20ft: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
Nik falls 50ft: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 1, 3) = 16
Zombington falls 50ft: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 5, 3) = 22
Rinika falls 50ft: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 2, 2) = 18
You have enough warning to try to soften your fall with a DC 15 Acrobatics check, removing the first die rolled above.
Conor the Wanderer
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
so close
Conor sits up after rolling across the ground from his nasty fall, deliriously looking about for his pack and helmet. Finding everything in place and his bones seemingly unbroken, he looks for the group.
"Ouch. That wizard better not show up again or I've got a blade to give him in an uncomfortable location... Everyone OK?"
Rinika
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Running counter to common wisdom, Rinika lands hard on her side, trying to roll with the fall but only really succeeding at using her body to cushion the treasure chest that she really really hopes she's still holding.
Nikrir Leldro
Not that it matters this time, but does DR apply to falls?
Also, I'm assuming that shamblers, having no int and no skills, can't perform acrobatics without magically good instructions xD
I wish I had remembered to prep Feather Fall for our escape xD
Speaking of which, I should refresh my spells since we were riding for a day, huH?
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Nik manages to break his fall by landing on top of Zombington II, which had followed him to the window.
Groaning as he gets to his feet, Nik looks down at the pile of gristle, bone, and fur that broke his fall.
"Hells."
Rubbing his shoulder, he turns to Jek.
"Seems I broke your present... still got those dead Khaasta?"
Nikrir Leldro
If I had thought about it properly, I'd probably have had Feather Fall instead of Enlarge Person to make our escape easier, but I didn't and I doubt I'll need it again so soon, so I'll save that swap for next time and just get Grease and my daily powers back...
Nik, remembering his (devil based) healing magics, casts Infernal Healing on himself. Then he casts Repair Undead on Rinika.
Repair Rinika: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 18->13 damage
"Anyone else need healing? I've got a wand..."
refreshed in the past 24 hours, spent two spells on healing, as mentioned above...

lol, I don't think it's technically a healing spell. Though Infernal Healing is, I think xD
Rinika
Rinika pats around her voluminous clothes for a moment and pulls out Nansi, then talks to him in a series of beeps and boops.
Then, with a quick cast of Guidance, they get to work on the chest.
