CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 91d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 81d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Drask comes back after about ten minutes, wounds gone but still looking pretty haggard. Water drips from his face and he takes a couple sharp breaths to wake himself up. "Raaahh! Alright. Let's move, I want to get some sleep tonight."

Map Updated. You are about 20ft back from your current position on the map. The door down the boardwalk you are directly in front of is the one that is open. The blue lines I drew are where the building has collapsed into the bay.
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
”Yes, I took contemporaneous notes.I will not go into detail now, but there was behavior which was... inappropriate. I will finalize my report tomorrow morning. And, we will be, but I must know if the Aspsis are here. And if you would like, remember that I can examine the shard for you. I am aware that it has strange properties, and so may be able to steel myself against it’s malign influence better than an average person.”
Mokhasi whispers, after silently watching with his companions for some time, ”One lantern, do we engage?”
Esrisi Derexhi |
Drask Umbra |
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
”Do you want to? We can go in and kick some of the behind if you want. Though it is possible that the lantern is completely unconnected to the slavery ring. If we all agree, I am willing to go in.”
Drask Umbra |
Sapher Mornshire |
"Hmmm..." Sapher thinks not liking not knowing what is in there. But if all they do is sit here and look at a distant light, why are they here. "I'll go, since I'm the most armored. When they come after me, I'll run back here and you two ambush them."
She stops though and fishes out the last potion of healing, and hands it to Drask. "In case either of us needs it."
stealth: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (2) - 5 = -3 yep kind of what I was expecting from her in this regard.
Then she make more noise than three drunk trolls combined could, as she walks toward the building.
Drask Umbra |
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Sapher Mornshire |
Sapher sees him taking off his armor, confused on how the enemy is going to hear him and attack him as bait if he isn't as loud as at least one drunk troll. But then realizes Drask might be able to be quiet as he walks, something Sapher is not capable of. So instead she hunkers down and waits.

Drask sneaks up to the building. When he gets to the door he peaks inside and sees a floating beam of light near the middle of the tavern. As far as he can see there isn't anyone inside though.
Drask Umbra |
Drask hangs around for about half a minute before moving back to the others.
"Just a light. Weird."
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
Mokhasi puts his finger on his chin, "Clever. Could be a light spell, or a dancing light. May be meant to draw us into exposing ourselves. If you didn't see anyone else hiding in the shadows, they may be good at hiding. If it is a spell, they must be close, the range is limited. Look around, and listen for a moment if you can." Mokhasi looks around in the starlight.
Take 10 perception, for 16
Sapher Mornshire |
"A trap then... maybe even fed us the information about this 'meeting' to capture a few new slaves." Sapher grunts, and then will open her ears as well.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Sapher Mornshire |
"Scout around then?" She asks. She knows she's not about to strip off her armor to do so though. So its either be noisy, be used as bait, or sit and wait for the others to scout.
"Or just sit and wait a bit... see if anyone else decides to come and look."
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
"Wait a bit, then scout. If we see nothing, we can all go in, and I can detect on my own. That said, if people are meeting here - there should be more than one of the "jokester" wizards or something."
Drask Umbra |
Drask tiredly dons his armor again.
Sapher Mornshire |
Sapher sighes, she is tired, sore, and smelly. "No slavers. We should go back, rest up, and maybe come back in the morning."
with the others!
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
”If you’d like, I am happy to investigate the building now with detect magic, if I have an escort. I enjoy exploring and uncovering mysteries for the experience. It certainly does seem like there is something strange afoot, but it does not objectively appear to be related to a slaver ring.”
Drask Umbra |
Drask finishes strapping on his armor and grunts. "Yeah, I'll kick the door down. Come on."

Drask, Mok, and Sapher decide to head inside to investigate the light. Drask makes sure it is clear and then Mok heads inside to detect magic on the light. As he does Drask and Sapher wait by the door with their eyes peeled. However, no one notices the man step out from around the corner and begin casting a spell as a wave of colorful lights washes over Drask and Sapher.

willpower save: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 2 = 10 iron will paid off there :)
And Sapher goes down.
Drask Umbra |
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Drask fights off the magical ambush, nostrils flaring as he wakes himself up. He draws his double-axe, moving next to the caster. "Messed up. You got one chance."
If he doesn't surrender Drask will swing.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
”Please, we did not come to fight. We saw dancing lights and just wanted to investigate.”
Ready action cast daze on him with an arcane reservoir point, DC 15 will negates, if he casts a spell (negating the spell I hope).
GM Dak |
Drask steps up to swing at the man as Sapher passes out and hits the floor with a solid thud. Drask swings at the man but misses. Mokhasi atemps to talk the man down but he simply replies "That is why the light is there to draw you in to investigate it..." He steps back to start casting another spell.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
However, as he does Mokhasi casts a spell that takes hold and the man just stands there dazed for a moment.
Round 2
>Mok/Sapher/Drask, Enemy
Drask Umbra |
Drask steps after the man again. "Come on now." He grabs at the dazed caster.
Grapple: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
Mokhasi moves to the other side of the man, and tries to aid Drask’s grapple check.

GM Dak |
With Mokashi helping Drask is able to get a hold of the man while he is dazed. As he snaps out of it he tries to wrestle himself free.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
His struggles are worthless though as the large half-orc holds on tight. The man spits and curses as he struggles but he doesn't seem to be going anywhere for now.
Round 3
>Mok/Sapher/Drask, Enemy
Assuming you beat a 14 CMD to pin him this round combat will be over.
Drask Umbra |
Grapple (maintain bonus): 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 5 = 28
Drask picks up the caster and slams him to the ground, taking his arms and holding them tightly behind his back. "Enough." He puts a knee on the man's back, enough to keep him from moving but not enough to keep him from breathing or break any ribs. "Who are you? Why'd you attack us?"
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
Mokhasi helps Drask pin the man.
Dak, include the bonuses you think are appropriate, I think I can aid the grapple but I am not sure.
aid another cmb?: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
”It is rude to try to capture people, I guess you chose the wrong people to lure.” He He moves over to Sapher to grab some rope from her pack, patting her on the arm gently. ”We can tie him up, I will get rope from Sapher if you want to keep him pinned.”
Sapher Mornshire |
Sapher has rope in her backpack, which you've both seen her use, if you want to grab it from the slumbering dwarf.
GM Dak |
Mokashi and Drask work togheter and bind the man up, just in time for Sapher to wake up again.
When Drask asks him his questions the man shrugs "Just a man with aspirations... thought I would nab myself some Pathfinders and see what kind of advantage I could make out of it..."
Drask Umbra |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
"For some reason my knee doesn't believe you."
Nonlethal Damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
His knee digs into the man's back painfully.
Esrisi Derexhi |
Having been previously grappled and kneed to the face, I approve of this technique.
Sapher Mornshire |
A grunt, a groan, and a desire to kick the blathering fool in the face means the dwarf is up again. Sapher is as angry at herself as she is with him. "There could be more. We should gag him, then drag him back with the others, for LONG in Depth QUESTIONING!"
intimiadation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Drask Umbra |
"Come on pretty bird, sing for me."
Nonlethal: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Drask Umbra |
"Oh." Drask frowns. Why are casters so fragile?
Sapher Mornshire |
"Just makes it easier to carry him back." Sapher points out, after checking to make sure he was still breathing. "Do you want me to carry this one?"
Mokhasi Kpu'unde |
”Maybe the Venture Captain will recognize him. He seems to know about pathfinders. Well done, all.” Mokhasi searches the unconscious body and itemizes everything they find.
Sapher Mornshire |
Unless Drask insists, Sapher will heft the unconscious mage over her shoulder and start hiking back to the lodge. She's too worn out to worry about a cart this time. "If anyone stops us, we'll tell them he's a slaver. Which is nice since it's the truth." Bolka is pretty against lying, it being a bad start to any marriage. It's not the smite you in divine fury kind of against, but still better to avoid it if possible.
Drask Umbra |
Drask shrugs, lifting the man onto Sapher's shoulder. It will keep his hands free if they're confronted about it. "Come on, let's hurry back."
GM Dak |
Surprisingly you make it back to the lodge with little issue. You get some odd glances, but with it being so late there aren't nearly as many people on the street. It probably helps that the man you are carrying isn't all bloody and injured.
GM Dak |
Feel free to RP the rest of the night, (most of the lodge is asleep already) and into the morning. Sheila will ask you all to join her in the study an hour or so after breakfast. Let me know when you all are ready to move onto talking with her.
