AC is 39 vs smite target, 35 to everyone else. If Ras'al moves away from me, I gain +3 AC. If he is still next to me and needs a reflex save for something next turn, Yajima will "Shield the Weak" giving him improved cover (+4 save) and improved evasion vs the effect, but Yajima forfeits his save.
| GM_Starson |
Didn't miss 8, he just hasn't made any checks as of yet, didn't realize he still needed to make the will save immediately.
Going with Yajima's original target of 6, considering info in discussion.
Yajima WHALLOPS the thing holding Ras, beating it until bones crack and skin bursts. It let's Ras go as it falls over dead.
Will8: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Thing 8 grips Riddywipple tightly and begins to fade out of existance....
Riddywipple Will: 1d20 + 11 - 10 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 10 = 18 Oh come on!
But Riddy is NOT about to go with the badman who touched him, no candy in vans for him, and so forces himself to stay anchored as the thing holding him fades away, releasing him once again.

He continues trying to free up the spellcasters from their attackers, again firing towards the one menacing Ras'al.

Going to go ahead and post my turn since work has been rough lately and I don't know when I will get another chance.
Mage Armor - 2 hours
Ant Haul - 2 hours
Summon Monster VI (Bralani Azata) - 4 rnds - qty Bralani = 4
Haste - dur 6 rnds
Greater Invisibility - dur 12 rnds
HP: 7 of 74
In celestial Lavode shouts down to the Bralani, Heal the badly injured!
Menga qarang! then he disappears from sight.
Improved Invisibility.
perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Does he actually appear to be looking at me after I turn invisible and move? If so that could be bad. The change would:
Cast Greater Invisibility
Move action to draw Oil of Daylight (floating down with ring of feather fall if hover requires a move action)
Free action drop my Oil of Daylight to the ground

The team prepares to continue to fight when suddenly...
the world goes black.
It's as if everything had been dipped in ink, and no one can see an inch in front of their face. Even those with darkvision find themselves completely blinded and unable to see.
Why... must you make this all so difficult?
Since weirdness is happening i'm gonna give Lavode a chance to retcon his post. Be careful about metagaming, remember you can't see a darn thing.

We're outside, in a desert, during the day (which would be bright light) Would it really drop the light levels that far?
Even deeper darkness would only make it dim lighting. It would have to have been dim light in the first place, to drop it to supernaturally dark.
Of course, if this is not a deeper darkness-like effect, ignore all this =)
Yajima Katsuki
|
I have no idea how lightning and darkness effects really work, so I'll wait until after GM responds to Teriq to post.
| GM_Starson |
Huh. Your right, this is one of those situations where "Tactics as written" don't gel with "Tactics as actually work for the situation because the spells say certain things".
Now, after going back through and reviewing both the module and the tactics as written, I've come up with this... hopefully, this will be an adequate explanation.
I decided to say that the pathfinder team meat with the Master just after sunrise for the Emir (Time diffrences probably would have them up a bit before sunrise, but teleportation would put you there around that time.) I'll use the Sarhara desert as my baseline (Cause it's the closest realworld thing I can hang my hat on) so that puts you at 8:00AM. Assuming the briefing took about half an hour and the Emir's words of "Setting off within the hour" we can assume that the various caravan's set off at just before 9:00AM I then randomly rolled for how much time it would take for the caravan to be hit, as it could be hit anytime within the next 24 hours, and got 10 hours. That puts us at about 6:00PM which is about an hour before sunset. Now, that is safely out of "Bright light" levels, but does it merit "Dim Light"? Unfortunately no, as while it is sunset, it is not in fact sundown and ambient light levels for dim light describe it as "Nighttime under a starlit sky", which implies to me that the darkness of a sunset is not enough to enter dim light, just the regular light that equals the standard adventuring party "Light levels under a forest canopy in the daytime."
Short version: It's regular light levels, not "Bright light" cause it's late in the day, so it drops 2 levels to "Dark" instead of "Deeper Darkness" so those with darkvision can see.

Yajima looks around in the area of normal light he is in at the ring of darkness about 40ft away from him. Not seeing any enemies in the vacinity, he focuses his senses around him, looking for his fellow pathfinders as well as any remaining threats. "Ras'al, can you direct me to any remaining enemies?"
perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (15) + 23 = 38
He then focuses his ki to his feet, allowing himself to walk on air for one minute with a speed of 30ft.

In that case the Bralani can see to heal people as I had directed them.

Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31
Teriq yells something, though only Ras'al and Lavode understand the words.
Though he quickly realizes that the only two people that might still be able to see, would not understand him while his curse has manifested!
Instead, he casts a spell, in an attempt to cancel it out!
Casting daylight on whatever is at his feet, to dispel the darkness in the overlapping areas. (The centers are close enough that there'd just be a little sliver of darkness over on the left somewhere.
As he does so, a large pair of fiery wings sprout from his back, as if the glorious light of the flames themselves were burning off the darkness!
Swift action, use wings of fire revelation.
Now able to see the source of the voice, he calls something again, pointing in that direction. Though what he says remains a mystery, the intent is clear enough, as he flaps his flaming wings and soars quickly off to the side, eyes focuses on the enemy above.
Single move (90' with haste) moving upwards at less than 45 degrees. So should end up maybe 40' up, and 60' over, give or take.
GM, could we get a height indicator on the bad guy?

Yajima looks up and points to the sky, "Up there. Someone is enjoying the show."

Okay, so, The deeper darkness and daylight spell have basically negated each other. You also have your light spell, so in your area things have increased to "Bright Light" which doesn't really change much but could be important later on.
