I am using the Social Boon "Contractor’s Respect" (AbadarCorp) from "SFS 1-12 Ashes of Discovery" for this entire mission (the 1st out of 3 uses).
Thus AbadarCorp is "thanking me" for services rendered by lending me a suite of 'up to my level+1' armor.
I chose Basic Acrochor Hide.
Light armor made out of "snake" skin (flashy!).

Dotting in. I have three characters I can use. A level 3 Soldier Bombard, A level 5 Soldier Arcane, And a Level 4 Technomancer. Well, maybe the Technomancer, that game is finishing up. Will pick one when game starts. If you want the gunner for Starship combat, my Level 5 Soldier will have a +9. And plenty of credits which I may use to buy dexterity boosters. Others don't really have anything for Starship combat, expect the level 3 soldier, +7 to gunnery.

Will get info when character is selected. Does anyone have a preference? And would everyone be okay if I have to use the level 5 as everyone here is level 3-4. The level 5 might bump us, not sure.

Hey all, I hate being that guy but work just got super crazy and the likelihood that I'll be able to keep up with a daily PbP for the next 6 weeks or so is very slim. I was reticent because I thought I had "colored the water" with my High Society Influence boon, but since Medrick has it too I think it'd be more fair to you all if I stepped away now before the adventure gets started in earnest. I'm sorry to do so, I've played with Aerondor GMing before (he's outstanding) and when I saw he'd be running this I was super excited, but I don't want to hold you guys up with my work life.

So, with one technomancer and infinite soldiers a lot of soldiers, we're lacking in a few areas. We could definitely use a mystic, operative or envoy in our 6th slot.

As far as having the ability to talk with any natives, its going to be tricky now that we won't have a mystic. Should we all pitch in for a Diplomat serum of enhancement? Alternatively, if someone has a weapon with item level 4 or higher, they can get a Spellthrower fusion for it and a spell gem of Share Language. I would, but I've foolishly spent all my credits when making this character.

The Tetrad Translator is ridiculously limited in what it can do, so I'd go with a different language solution if we can. But even if we don't have a Wayfinder Tier 1 person, someone could buy the Tetrad for its normal 500 credit cost as a fallback.

I'm happy to have Id botted (ideally by a player) if you are okay with that Chris, but I also understand you wanting to actually play the scenario yourself.

Another option might be using a pre-gen in the 6th slot. Starfinder scenarios tend to be okay with four or six, but a little brutal with five.

I've also put out a note in Castamir's, though with Outpost opening up that might be less likely.

A couple of notes on starship combat for PBP.

Firstly, when you move on the map, please leave a dotted trail behind you. I'll do that for my ships as well.

Secondly, I've put some coloured arrows onto the map. These show the current facing of the various ships, so we don't have to get funky with trying to rotate icons around, which on this scale is just messy.

The Pegasus will be in red, and ...well, the first nasty will be in blue.

To keep things flowing smooth, I'm thinking of rolling initiative for both parties, just because otherwise it will slow to a crawl. Kasa, your +14 bonus - did that include the +1 from the Pegasus?

After initiative, I'll get you all to declare your actions (feel free to put in a contingency if you like), and I'll sort them out in the appropriate orders. Trying to work through the normal 3 phases of spaceship combat in PBP is difficult. In general this means rounds end up looking like one of:

(1)
I roll for initiative and win (so you move first)
You all tell me what you want to do (e.g. fire weapons, pull stunts etc
I move your opponents who, and then you. I apply your actions (I'm pretty easy about reassigning gunnery positions on the fly so you are likely to get shots off) and my actions

or
(2)
I roll for initiative an lose (and thus move first)
I move so you know exactly where the enemy ends up
You all tell me what you want to do (e.g. fire weapons, pull stunts etc

It is not quite by the book, but seems to work and keeps the spirit of the space combat without slowing down too much.

I'm totally fine with that. That's how I run my starship combats too!

Just also want to remind that you can change ship roles from round to round. This is useful especially for roles which can take more than one person. For example, if shields are badly down, more people can jump in to restore shields.
