GM Batpony |
Cernan knows the ghostly figure to be a spectre, an incorporeal creature whose touch is deadly enough to suck the life out of you. Incorporeal rules apply. No other special resistance or immunities otherwise.
Irp |
Irp will study the cat.
knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Specific question: special attacks? Can it pounce and rake like many other cats?
Sir Ibb |
Ibb will sprout thrush wings and fly 45º up moving him upward 10', and 20' closer.
This puts him where he is on the map right now; it should open a charge lane.
Sir Ibb |
Actually 20' up. I don't know how lines and grids work, it seems :)
Edit: Yep, Irp's first question will be about resistances and immunities. His question about pounce probably doesn't matter since it doesn't have a charge lane; beyond that, special attacks.
Xuan Fung |
Fung has 60' fly speed so continuing another 30' movement. He's keeping 20' high which hopefully would be out of reach of the shadowbeast even with reach. His position should still not block Ibb's charge.
Can Irp check whether it is immune or resistant to lightning? The below attack is assuming it is not.
Despite being drained, Fung nonetheless pushes himself to move, drawing close to the enemies. However, despite the ghostly form attacking Rallas, his attention is drawn to the shadowy beast further behind. Electing to go for the attack more likely to hit, pulling static electricity from the air and releasing it in a blast on the creature.
vs Shadowbeast: Air Wysp Aura, Elemental Overflow (Dex & Con), PBS
electric blast vs TAC: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24 dmg: 4d6 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 1) + 2 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 23
Since is it large, i.e. 10ft high, and Fung is 20ft high, by Pythagoras thereom, so long is it is within 5 squares, it would be within 30ft. 3D combat for you. :)
GM Batpony |
I've got a live game to prep so short update.
The creature lurking in the shadows of its own making is a nightprowler. Not an incorporeal creature but is immune to cold, is an undead, and magical silver overcomes is natural resistances. The creature looks deep into Fungs soul with an evil gaze and begins walking on air!
Fung, DC19 or be paralysed. Fungs attack did hit.
everyone except Fung and Ibb are up!

Again, Fung gets mentally assaulted and despite his exhausation, manages to push it off, wavering somewhat in the air.
Rallas Linnderil |
Rallas takes a moment and stidues the creature before him. He sees a weak spot and aims his blade at it with reckless abandon.

Since I dont believe we are hasted any more, Cernan will move 30 ft to his current location and cast disrupt undeab on the shadow cat.

Burning Radiance: As an immediate action when dealing damage to an evil creature, the PC can cause her attack to ignore that target’s damage reduction and deal an additional amount of damage equal to 1d6 plus twice the character’s level.
Healing Sacrifice: As a standard action, a PC can touch another creature to heal it. This functions either as breath of life or as restoration (CL 15th). The temporary negative level from this blessing’s breath of life effect lasts only until the end of the next encounter and is ignored for the purpose of determining whether a PC would die from having too many negative levels. This ability can be used offensively against creatures vulnerable to positive energy, but its damage does not exceed 4 × the character’s level.
Unstoppable Wrath: As a swift action, the PC can choose one of the following undead immunities: bleed, death effects, mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, or stunning. For the duration of that encounter, the PC’s abilities, equipment, and spells ignore that immunity for undead creatures. Additionally, the PC ignores the impeded magic property of the Negative Energy Plane during that encounter.
Xuan Fung |
Fung is momentarily taken aback when the shadowbeast actually walks up the air to confront him. I have to lure it to the ground. So that the rest can help. But it is its mistake, thinking I'm helpless in melee. He summons a whip of air and slams it against the beast as he drifts closer towards the ground.

It was a 5-foot step. Move diagonally SE and one square down. And kinetic blade is a melee weapon, so doesn't provoke AoO.

Ibb follows Daniel's advice to focus on the spectre.
He tries to remember the time when, deep underground, he defeated the necromancers of Zohir. His butter knife suddenly glows with pale white fire as he flies over Rallas and then lunges down at the spectre from behind. -2 AC, 15' up, swift action ghost touch via boon.

Necromancer’s Bane: You defeated the necromancer Zohir, and honed your skill at fighting against the forces of undeath. You may select either this boon or Zohir’s Disciple; cross the other off your Chronicle sheet. You may check off a box before this boon as a swift action to infuse your attacks with the ability to strike true against undead for 1 round. For the duration of this effect, treat all of your weapons as if they had the ghost touch weapon special ability, and treat your weapons as if they were bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing for the purposes of bypassing the DR of undead creatures. Alos, your magic items, spells, spell-like abilities ignore the 50% chance to affect incorporeal undead creatures. When you check off this boon’s second box, cross the entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.

Frowning at the development, Umbrato scurries forward. 'Really? Why'd they have to be flying?'
Moving towards the melee, the wayang stops and tugs a pearl from his pack.

GM Batpony |
Enhanced with divine blessings, Ibb boldly strikes the revenant with his weapon. Immediately, the creature dissipates into nothingness.
Fung defends himself admirably, striking the creature with a powerful lash, but forces the nightprowler's hand as the creature steps forth and unleashes a fury of attacks on the kineticist.

Xuan Fung |
A clarification from the damage in the previous round. Fung's attack is electricity, so DR does not reduce the damage. However, I accidentally added PBS, i.e. an extra +1, for his melee attack. That previous attack should have been against TAC 16, and 1 less damage. So if Fung had hit in the previous round, it should be at -58. In fact, it seems that Fung's attack in the first round of 23 damage had DR applied, which it shouldn't. Sorry I didn't make that clear earlier.

Just did the math, the creature is dead!
The Pathfinders turn their concentration towards the remaining shadow creature. Leveraging each of their individuals strengths, a full out attack is made with blast of air, slices of sword, and piercings of arrows. The creature is unable to defend itself amongst all the attacks and falls victim to the it's deadly wounds...
Now we sit tight for a day or two! Congrats team!

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**
A screeching wail cuts across the battlefield as Eshimka falls to her knees, her undead horde routed to all sides by the combined Pathfinder and Twinhorn forces. The nightshade cries out in anger and dismay, “No! How could mortal worms like these strike me down?”
As if answering the question, Medda strides forward, battered and bleeding before her blessed armor begins to glow brighter and brighter. Cast in the shadow of a nearby standing stone, the dwarven apparition of the paladin warrior Ivvora seems to mirror Medda’s movements and guide her steps. As one they respond, “Eshimka, this battle began a millennium ago, and it ends tonight. Vildeis has judged you and found you wanting”. Producing a dagger of white fire in one hand, Medda and Ivvora both plunge their blades into the undead giant’s chest. Eshimka’s mouth opens in a silent scream as light pours from her eyes, mouth, and the wounds inflicted by the Pathfinders. The nightshade’s body crumbles into ash that the wind scatters across the snow, and the dying rift at last closes.
The towering dwarven ghost salutes the gathered heroes and announces, “You have all proved yourself worthy of Vildeis’ attention. Pathfinders, you have defeated a great evil, so let your tale of your bravery shatter your enemies’ courage while bolstering your own. Medda and Anok, you have made me proud and finished what I could not. Go with Vildeis’s blessing, and keep vigilant—evil never rests.” Ivvora smiles and looks up to the stars as she fades away and the blessed armor returns to its normal sheen.
Medda looks to the champions surrounding her. “Everyone, I cannot put into words how grateful I am to all of you. You have stood by my side through all these hardships, and at last we have triumphed! Eshimka is forever destroyed, and we the Twinhorn following have found true allies in the Pathfinder Society. Call on us in your hour of need, and we shall come to your aid. For now though, the danger has passed.” She and Anok give one last look to where the planar scar is already healing.
“Let us celebrate at last.”
Scenario (and series) concluded. Thanks for playing, everyone, and thanks for all your hard work, GMs!
