Kiku charges off towards the barricade, calling back towards her allies. "Everyone! Stay close to me and Yojimbo! His presence will bolster your ability to fight the poison!"

Still in the rush of battle, Kiku finds out which person behind the barricade is in need of help with the poison and then reads her scroll of neutralize poison. The battle had carried on long, and Kiku knows seconds could make all the difference. She even silently says her prayer to Dalenydra as she pulls out the scroll, not wanting to waste time with chanting.

Don't know what the DC is for the poison, or how many successful saves are needed, so here's a few for Yojimbo

Hamish healed himself for 6 last round so would be at -36.

Using up the last little bit of magic speeding up his legs, the bard rushes back around the excavation to do as Kiku requests. He pears through his red shaded spectacles to see if anyone is close to death (Deathwatch Eyes).

Fort vs. Poison: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Fort vs. Poison: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Fort vs. Poison: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

He also has the following save bonuses, if any apply to the poison. Immune Sleep, +2 Enchants, +4 vs Fear, Energy Drain, Death, Necromantic. Kiku, how much does Yojimbo bolster vs. poison?

Witch's Winter Holiday

Yojimbo and Hamish have resisted the poison for the time being. Allen and Shiro need to make their own rolls.

As Kiku peers over the propped-up tables and tent pieces, a hand thrusts several bottles at her. "Here... antitoxin..." a woman with Erutaki features and dried blood caking her face and hair says wearily. "Hopefully... not too... late..." her voice trails off and Kuokei nuzzles her face worriedly. "...fine... just tired..."

Hamish:
She is incredibly close to death, but her condition is stable.

What do you do?

@Hamish it’s a +2 competance bonus to all saves

@GM did Kiku’s scroll go off on the woman and did it seem to work?

Hamish moves up to the woman handing out the bottles and casts one of his last two remaining spells, "you will need your strength, this will help." At her comment of being late, "It seems we got here just in time to seal the evil back up. It was way too close though."

CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

How does the giant look?

He waves any allies over to the barricaded area, "help is over here if you are still poisoned!"

Witch's Winter Holiday

Kiku, she is not poisoned and waved off the offer of the spell.

Shiro has resisted the poison for the time being. Allen needs to make his own roll.

The woman smiles gratefully at Hamish. "The spirits of the snow must have guided you here to have arrived when you did. We could not have held out much longer."

Hamish:
Behind the woman are three unconscious, but stable folks in heavy winter gear. Ainamuuren is still coughing blood on the snow and looks to be fading fast.

What do you do?

Kiku will give Ainamuuren a quick cure moderate wounds of her own.

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 = 17

She will then check over him to diagnose the problem. While she does so, Yojimbo takes one of Kiku’s antitoxins and offers it to anyone who needs one.

Heal Check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

If she confirms he is poisoned:

Neutralize Poison CL Check (from scroll): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Buffs:

If the issue with the poison is ability damage, Shiro would be OK with Kiku or someone else with UMD using his wand of lesser restoration if needed in this situation.

Witch's Winter Holiday

Botting Allen

Allen Fortitude, Determination vs Poison: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 2 = 20

Allen also manages to keep the poison's effects at bay as he flies over to join Edgar next to Kiku. The spiritualist quickly determines that Ainamuuren is suffering from repeated exposure to blackfrost poison and has taken both hitpoint and ability damage. As she heals him and removes the toxins, the giant nods gratefully. "Min takk, liten danser," he rumbles.

Giant:
"My thanks, small dancer."

Assuming our poisoned folk take the offered antitoxins...

Allen Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 2 + 5 = 26
Yojimbo Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 24
Hamish Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 16
Shiro Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 29

Everyone except Hamish feels better, but the half-elf feels weak in the knees...

Constitution damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1

...and when the poison's effects strike again...

Hamish Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 32
Hamish Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 16

Constitution damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Hamish Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 21
Hamish Fortitude, Determination, Antitoxin vs Poison: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 + 5 = 25

...and after several agonizing minutes he too feels the poison leave his body.

It's the end of the world end of the scenario, so I'll let folks decide if they want to use a charge of lesser restoration on him or not. Goodness knows there'll be enough time to rest and recover from the ability damage on the way back to Absolam.

The Pathfinders rest for the night, Kuokei keeping close watch over Svala's exhausted form. In the morning, the pair begin posting signs in a number of languages (including Ulfen, Erutaki trail signs, and easily recognizable pictograms) warning other travelers to keep away from the the site as the other archeologists and Pathfinders rebury the site and Ainamuuren follows her around, not caring that his scolding seems to fall on not-understanding ears.

The saumen kar bids the explorers farewell when their work is done and disappears back into the frozen tundra as the dogsleds, somewhat more heavily burdened, depart for Aaminiut - and eventually, Iceferry and beyond.

Well done everyone! Feel free to wrap up any lose ends you might have with other characters and head on over to the Discussion thread for Chronicles!

Kiku gives each of her Pathfinder comrades a heartfelt hug, with their permission of course. "Praise all the Gods! We did it! Thank you all so very, very much for your hard work. I am so pleased we were able to make things right."

She is absolutely beaming as she speaks of each of her team members in-turn. "Hamish's bardic music, Shiro's martial prowess, Noke and Edgar's witch hexes and magic, and of course Narika's skill with the wand and fireballs! And to Allen, Happu, and Divune as well, not to mention Kuokei!" The poor girl drives herself breathless trying to thank everyone, not wanting anyone's contribution to feel minimized or forgotten.

Kiku makes special note to learn Giant and Skald at the next possible opportunity.

I'll hold off on burning wand charges or scrolls (Hamish has 2) and heal normally, gotta love those fumbles! Thank you for allowing that choice and the excellent game!

Finally overcoming the poison, Hamish works to get the signs up and cover up the site. Completely wiped out, he manages to get his body slung onto the bobsleds and head out. While traveling back south, he manages to recover a bit and once they make it to Iceferry, he actually enjoys an evening drinking at the tavern. Reminiscing about the brutal battle, going over tactics and just being happy to not be on the way to meet his judgement so many wrongs to right remain!

He thanks his teammates, hoping to see them again somewhere down the road.
