Blitniz nods. "Yes, which is why having it operating out of control is bad for us. I can't turn it off until if it's on non-stop."
At least that's how I'm interpreting the goal here ... GM can correct me if I'm wrong.
Blitniz realizes that the party needs a way to stop the contamination.
Athletics DC 18 (jam the door open) or Engineering DC 18 (divert power away from the chamber) or Medicine DC 18 (reconfigure console to
target anomalous cell profiles rather than all organic matter)
or Mysticism DC 16 lifesense hybrid array [must be done within contamination chamber]).
Blitniz
|
Blitniz nods in support as he watches Raia divert power way from the chamber. "Yes, that will work."
GM Qstor
|
Raia manages to disable the contamination procedure. The party heads through a bit of dust through the passageway into a large area.
on slide 2
This large, imposing shipment bay is fitted with an array
of machinery needed to package, sort, and load enormous
quantities of goods. Brilliant light filters into the room from
a series of three rooms to the east, casting dim light and long
shadows. To the south, near seamless bay doors are raised a
few feet. The room is noisy from the whirr of servos and the
clank of metal.
what do you guys do?
Sturmvanger
|
Sturmvanger examines the room quickly and readies his gun. Then, perhaps because he's worried about being heard over the noise, or perhaps he simply does not want to shout over it, he gestures to his companions to follow him toward the rooms to the East, looking for cover along the way.
Blitniz
|
I moved us over, and tried to put us all in areas that look like they'd have some cover. It looks like the rooms are raised, so I might have cover just standing next to it, since I'm a kobold, but I also found some boxes that likely will work until I have to get closer.
Blitniz pulls out his broad-spectrum scanning kit to survey the area.
Perception w/ scanning kit: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 4 = 25

Blitniz replies, in his even digitized voice, "My designation is Blitniz. Are you overseeing operations at this facility?"

Blitniz replies, in his even digitized voice, "My designation is Blitniz. Are you overseeing operations at this facility?"
"Oh no...I'm a researcher. I've gone outside my group and I decided that I must find answers about the First Ones. I'm very interested in them! What are you doing here?" It shifts a bag on it's waist.
Raia studies the robot.
Something's not right here
Blitniz
|
Blitniz isn't certain if the creature sees the others, who are behind much better cover than him, so he doesn't make any sign that would alert to their presence. His comm channel, however, is open, so that they could communicate with him if needed.
"Ah, excellent. I am here to do what I can to assist in learning about the First Ones as well. It is logical, I hope, that we can collaborate. Perhaps you can share your efforts with me?"

Blitniz

"Oh, nothing really. I just got here, and was sent because we have so little information. I was under the impression that the city wouldn't have any anacite or other robotic inhabitants. Are you here alone? Something of a free thinker, perhaps?"

"Yes I don't like the constrictions of some of what my group does. You?"
Blitniz
|
Blitniz decides to share a bit with this guy. After all, he has a glowing red light on his face, so how bad could this robot be?
"I'm with the Starfinder Society. Ever hear of us?" He holds up his hand, which begins to glow with the Starfinder emblem. "Our motto is Explore, Report, Cooperate. Our group is pretty cool, actually. What group are you with?"

"I'm a member of Those who call. I should get back to looking around here."
Blitniz
|
"What are you looking for? Maybe I could help." Blitniz approaches, glancing around to see if he can find anything interesting.
Sturmvanger
|
"Many eyes can see many things," Sturmvanger says, offering his help as well. Though he's contemplated literally getting many eyes to see many things, before.
GM Qstor

You said, 'Those Who Call'. Who or what are you calling?
"The First ones. Why wait for them to return! We can call them now! I'm looking forward to their coming. I just need some parts."
Blitniz

Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
"Oh, well, do you have, you know, their comm channel transponder code? Or maybe their Infosphere ID?" He begins looking around for any sign of what the robot is wanting to use ... and if there's maybe a way to sabotage it.
Raia - L1 Pregen
|
engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Raia had already noticed that hence the suspicions.
So you want to call the First Ones? Are you sure that's a good idea? And what would you hope tp accomplish if they did arrive?
Sturmvanger
|
"The worlds do, indeed have many problems and someone who can help with them would be nice," Sturmvanger says.
"We'll come with you and see where we can do some good," he continues.
Better to keep an eye on this being than let it wander alone wreaking more havoc. Besides, it might have some useful knowledge even if it is misguided in its use.

He's looking around the distribution node (where you guys are) for ways to adjust/parts the radiation level. A few minutes ago you guys had to fix the entrance cause of the high radiation level.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
The robot easily spots Raia going for her weapon.
"You won't interfere!"
In anger, it fires an electric ray at Raia. Striking her in the chest.

Raia's shot finishes the creature! And it falls to the ground.
Combat over!
Looking around:
bay you confirms that Postulant-Call-07 wasn’t alone, but that
whoever they were with is gone.
To the "east" where the party was fighting you notice.
This large, square room has walls paneled in mirrors and
gleaming metal, and a glass ceiling high above that’s open
to the sky. Through the ceiling, sunlight pours in, reflecting
across the walls in brilliant beams, all focused on a 15-footwide
pedestal covered by glimmering metallic particles, which
stands in the center of the room. Silver circuits branch out
from the pedestal, climbing the east wall and ending at a
large array fitted with hundreds of thin cylinders mounted in
parallel. While most of the tubes emit a swirling yellow light,
a couple have black spots floating through them. A single
holographic console projected by a hard-light emitter hovers
about 3 feet from the floor. An inactive series of holographic
projectors sprouts from the pedestal, wrapping around its
entire circumference.

"This guy wasn't alone but it seems like his allies bugged out at some point. Let's stay on our toes, though. There's no telling whether or not they'll come back or when," Sturmvanger says as he examines the area.
"And how would we go about taking the starcells out?" he asks.
Blitniz
|
Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Blitniz nods in agreement with Raia, then pulls out his broad-spectrum scanning kit to search the area.
Perception w/ scanner: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 = 14
He glances at Sturmvanger. "Yeah, ideally fix this before more of them arrive," he says as he stows the scanner again.
Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
"They have no business even using the starcells within a planetary atmosphere. These are meant to power space stations. And that plasma cannon can't mean anything but trouble." He begins working with Raia on figuring out how to dismantle and neutralize the device while Sturmvanger watches for any others.
GM Qstor

Looking at the area. Some of the wires are loose in the cells and there's some dirt in the circuits.
You can make repairs - 15 Engineering or Mysticism check
a DC 15 Computers or Culture check
or disable them with DC 13 Computers, Culture,
Engineering, or Mysticism check
Sturmvanger
|
As the others begin their work, Sturmvanger falls into a role he knows very well. He stands watch while those with skill and knowledge do their work, ready to use his own skills and knowledge to protect them from any outside threats.
He can't help but thing of Seggas as he does so. It has been months since he's seen her, yet he knows she is still out there. That fact raises more questions than it answers, though as he wonders if he failed her somehow and that is why she left or if she is trapped somewhere and can't return to him.
GM Qstor

That should do it.
[dice=computers]d20+9
Raia is able to fix the solar collectors.
Three of the starcells have become volatile and could be used as a grenade. You're able to collect them safety.
You explore this area and nothing else is out of the ordinary.
- - - - -
The next area to explore is the technocreche.
Swarms of undulating nanites cover the entirety of this
massive oval building. The irregular beating of machinery and
glimpse of flickering lights emerges from the occasional small
gap created by the nanites erratic shuffle.
Looking around you don't see the entrance.
To find the Finding the entrance requires you guys to succeed at a DC 15 Culture, Engineering, or Perception check
Sturmvanger
|
Sturmvanger grunts his approval as one of the tech heads successfully defuses the perilous situation. He takes one of the grenade starcells and suggests each of the others take one, as well.
He gives a little shiver at the technocreche, instinctually imagining the nanites crawling across his skin instead of its surface.
Thus, he's pleased as Raia also points out the logical location of the entrance. Though, the idea of going INTO that swarm is not particularly appealing.
Blitniz
|
Blitniz takes one of the grenades, grateful for additional weapon options.
He goes to search for the entrance, right as Raia identifies it. He pulls his laser pistol, makes sure it is filled with one of his charged batteries, and gets ready to head in.
