Lasaraleen

Lasaraleen breathes a sigh of relief
”Finally! Those were totally dreadful. Wraith are you ok? I know I called in a lot of healing but could barely keep up. “
She pulls out a wand to heal herself, figuring to save her few remaining channels

Did I mention I detest the cold? They can keep these dreadful creatures in their icy tombs for all I care. Should we keep moving?
Wraith {Gōsutoha ~Ghost Lotus}
|
Wraith are you ok? I know I called in a lot of healing but could barely keep up.
"Yes, thank you. I have never encountered a hag before. I underestimated the crone's prowess in martial affairs. Because of you, I will be around long enough to learn from that mistake. I am in your debt."

Chaosorbit

The creatures are too well concealed by the ice to figure exactly what they are, but Lasaraleen notes that the ice is very fresh. And something clicks for Wraith, based on the details relayed from the veela earlier. Wraith believes these may be the rebels who rose up to try to free Ranginori, but were ultimately not successful.
Lasaraleen
|
By the looks of it, this ice is not quite as old as I would have thought. Like maybe they were recently encased.
Lasaraleen tries to figure out how to thaw them out, figuring a fireball may be a bit too much.
Chaosorbit
|
If you are considering trying to "free" the frozen creatures. You could either find a way to break the chains or melt the ice. Breaking the chains would likely cause the ice block to fall to the ground, cracking in places perhaps freeing the creatures within. The chains 70 feet above (and would involve overcoming hardness and hps). Melting requires dealing a number of points of fire damage, this would weaken ice enough that several creatures could be freed. Assuming any still live at all.
Kavor Doan
|
So the chains that anchor the block are 70' up? And the block has got to be at least Colossal if it contains hundreds of creatures. How far is the bottom of the block from the ground? How far would it fall if I broke the chains?
"I still have Spider Climb and an adamantine waraxe. I could climb up there and break the chains. My Feather Fall spell cannot slow an object this large, so the beings inside might be hurt by the fall. But if they don't fall too far, and the ice absorbs most of the impact, it could be okay. I can stand on the block and hack the chains, then use Feather Fall on myself at least."
Wraith {Gōsutoha ~Ghost Lotus}
|
"I think that is the most expedient course of action."
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Am I correct in assuming there are only chains, no lock or other device to 'disable'
Chaosorbit
|
Kavor looks over the scene most of the ice block is only 30-40 feet off the ground. Perhaps the creatures within might survive a fall like that, considering the ice might take the brunt of the damage.
I don't know if that makes sense science-wise, but that how it's written so we'll roll with that.
Wraith only sees chains and no locks, so nothing for her to try to unlock or disable.
Argenta Ibn Jad
|
Argenta nods, That seems the most sensible solution, I could burn up a lot of the ice but I would rather not use those resoruces, we still have a lot to explore and we may need them.
Kavor Doan
|
Okay.
Kavor Doan scrambles up the wall and across the ceiling. If he can cling to the ceiling with two feet and one hand, and attack with the axe in the other hand, he'll do that (saves a spell). If not, he'll shimmy down the chain, stand on the ice block, use two-handed strikes, and then a Feather Fall at the end.
He attacks at +9 for 1d10+10 with Arcane Strike and Power Attack, or 1d10+13 two-handed. His axe ignores hardness less than 20. Do I need to roll this out?
Lasaraleen
|
Lasaraleen can strategically lob up to 8 fire bolts to loosen some of the ice or chains.
I can roll those if appropriate
Chaosorbit
|
Save the spells, Kavor plan will work. No need to roll.
Kavor spider climbs to the chains and begins to axe away, with the adamintine it's still quite a chore. But soon the ice block flies toward the floor of the cavern. I assume you all clear out of the way.
It crashes down with a tremendous ground shaking thumb and cracks in a million different pieces. The creature within begin to rouse as if awaken from a great slumber. They seem to be lead by the giant, who likely isn't a giant. She is extremely tall and thin with deep blue skin and a wispy mannerism.
I'll allow another knowledge Planes, now that you have a better look.
She speaks to you in your head by telepathy and in the common tongue, Thank you for my freedom! As you are not from this rock nor from the elemental planes, I assume you also heard the call of the wind from this place and found your way here?
Kavor Doan
|
Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Kavor Doan doesn't know what the tall blue creature is. He holds back on speaking for now.
Lasaraleen
|
”Our pleasure. We were like totally glad to be able to help. Are there others in need?“
Chaosorbit
|
Yes, I'm sure there are. The blue giant replies to Lasaraleen. But we have many who can heal among us. She says indicating she feels the group can take care of there own healing needs.
I thank you again. But now we must make haste and leave this flying rock! I fear despite the strength of the call of the wind. The forces keeping it imprisoned are too strong to oppose. Come now our saviors we all must depart! The giant makes an plea to abandon Aucturn's Tear.
Wraith {Gōsutoha ~Ghost Lotus}
|
"We have only recently arrived. There is much we need to learn before we can consider departure."
Have we actually heard a compelling 'call of the wind'? I may have missed that. However, it is the second time they have mentioned it.
Chaosorbit

As Ranginori is the Duke of Thunder, an Elemental Lord of Air you suspect it's Ranginori this being is referring too.
We must! You can see what Kelizandri’s tyranny brings. She gesters to the broken ice on the ground. I'm sure we can not defeat Kelizandri’s forces and so must flea to fight another day!
Kavor Doan

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Kavor Doan turns to the cleric.
"Lasaraleen, could I get that blessing of your goddess? Not the fire, the other one."
Then he addresses the giant.
"Well, we are but part of a much greater force. But if there is tyranny to be fought, by Cayden I will do it. I haven't seen yet that their forces are so strong that we'd need to flee.
We are here to investigate reports of a powerful entity trapped within this comet, understand its intentions, and free it if it would be an ally. Will you help us?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 +8 if I get Touch of Glory.
Argenta Ibn Jad
|
Argenta cannot fail that sense motive
Argenta turns to the freed captives. We came to this inhospitable rock because something here was opening portals all across our homeworld. I suspect it is Ranginori whatever the hell that is wanting to be freed from...its...imprisonment. Given it seems to oppose this Kelizandri who trapped you here I would have thought you would want to free it as well. Our society has many resources, perhaps together we can overcome the forces ranged against us? If you prefer we also have a stable gateway you can escape through. I have no doubt our society would happily help you return to your homes... whereever they may be
Diplomacy, heroism: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 22 + 2 = 37

Lasaraleen nods and provides her dwarf friend the touch of glory he requested
”We are here to help. But if you think we would be overpowered, then where do you plan to flee? “

Sorry slow update IRL board game night last night...ran long
Kavor with Lasaraleen's assistance and Argenta's words stir the massive blue giant!
A larger force! If Ranginori can be freed it will change everything for my kind and those from the other elementals planes! Yes the reward is worth the risk! The other creatures catch the vision and begin to cheer.
We will fight! Loud cheers roar around the cavern.
Oh new friends thank you for helping me see what needed to be done! I know what I'll do I'll grant you one wish! Another loud cheer rings out.
Of course since this is PFS the wish is very limited
You may wish for:
1) Health, restoring the PCs to full hit points and removing any status effects.
2) Armaments, gaining magical weapons and armor with a combined gold piece value of 35,000 that disappear at the end of the adventure.
3) Wrath, causing the next encounter to use the creatures from the next lowest subtier.
Congrats on a special success. Please decide how you would like to spend your wish.
Also, we have some time to explore another area.
Options: finish the one water encounter you didn't do; go to the Fire side; or go to the crater.
I know Liv want to try the Fire side.
Argenta Ibn Jad
|
I am happy with the fire side, same question about the wish that Liv has
Kavor Doan
|
I think we should use the Wish for Wrath.
Given that only half the party really uses weapons and armor (Kavor Doan, Lasaraleen, Wraith), they would be getting all the benefits for Armaments - it is not 35,000 gp of magic items, but of weapons and armor. And I am almost certain it is total and not per PC. That would be excessive for an in-scenario "special success" boon.
No preference on where we go next.
| Overseer Tyranius |
The image of Sorrina Westyr appears as she helps an enormous water elemental dispatch a band of gargoyles. “We do not stand alone in our efforts, my friends. Our teams discovered a band of rebels fighting back against our adversaries and we have begun to coordinate with them. Some much needed assistance should be arriving shortly.”
Table GMs, the Allies benefit is now in play
Lasaraleen

Fire side sounds fine. Lasaraleen is good with any part of the wish, especially if ability damage can be restored with any general healing
” We totally stand with you! Let’s win this!“
Argenta Ibn Jad
|
Has anyone taken any ability damage? Argenta has some scrolls of lesser restoration.
Chaosorbit

35k for the group not per person
Will move along to the Fire side now in next post.
BTW - no one has take ability damage
BTW Overseer announcement -- you did that!
You freed a rebellious marid, yep that's what she was and her aquatic allies. During one encounter, you may call upon one Water Veela to fight one your side.
Argenta Ibn Jad

Having one allies to the cause, you move onto the Sea of Light, a scorch wasteland, but now that the asteroid is rotating again the temperature is comfortable. Still pools and flows of lava bubble on the surface and require caution to maneuver around. After a little while you find a crash site from some alien vessel, as team of junior Pathfinders and experts scurries all around the craft busy learning and salvaging what they can. They wave friendly greetings as you go by, it seems safe here. You move on.
A short way from the crash site you find an entrance to some tunnels, a labyrinth of flame. Plumes of cool air grow hot and dry as they rush out from this network of igneous tunnels. A palace constructed of obsidian bricks stands high within a large cavern, surrounded by cultivated gardens containing brass mockeries of plant life and elegant pools of lava. The gates stand open without a guard in sight, while sounds of revelry emanate from within. You think you could easily sneak past if you wanted and head deeper into the labyrinth, then again you might wonder what is inside.
Argenta Ibn Jad

Sounds like a party says Argenta, I suggest we investigate but happy to sneak past too
Happy to hold off on wrath until we enter the next main phase

You enter into the palace to find fine decorations and plush carpeting line the palace’s floors and walls, and the scent of rich delicacies wafts from the tables laden with opulent dishes.
Two lithe, androgynous fiery humanoid with reddish skin lounge lazily with a muscular giant with crimson skin, smoldering eyes, and small black horns. Smoke rises in curls from its flesh. It laughs deeply as you enter at something one of the other just said. As you enter the giant gives another bellow of laughter.
What do we have here, I don't think you belong at my court! So you must be guests!
Guests! The fiery humanoids echo.
You find yourself in the presence of the Master of the Labyrinth of Flame! Fahaz Nahlam! The giant roars.
He claps his hands A bring out a feast for out guests!
The others jump up and begin looking around at the various food items already laid on nearby tables.
Lasaraleen

Lasaraleen does not like the looks of this red giant, but figuring diplomatic approach is best she will give herself a touch of glory

Argenta also steps forward. Greetings mighty Fahaz Nahlam, we are honoured that you have accepted us into your most impressive court. We are members of an organisation called the Pathfinder Society and are scholars, archaeologists and explorers. Perhaps we could share tales of our respective lands to entertain your court?

The food is real, but an illusion is making it look as if it is fine dining, as opposed to simple fare.
Ah explorers! Yes, Yes! Tales of high adventure across the stars and planets and planes of existence! I wish my labyrinth was a place of excitement and while we make the best of it, the truth is unending guard duty is far from exciting. But look at you all regale me with your tales! The giant looks excited to hear something new.
Argenta Ibn Jad

Argenta smiles, It is tales of heroism, adventure and mighty deeds you wish my Lord then let me tell you of the adventures our socity has undertaken to prevent the return of a great evil in our world.
She glides into the centr of the room. Let me tell you a tale of tragedy, lurking evil, mighty heroics and desperate deeds. It began, as so many of these tales do, with a theft. As Argenta continues, Yes, yes go on now tell me more!
Any of those skills may be used, so I'll assume Diplomacy...go ahead and give me one more check. As Lasaraleen joins in the Master of the Flame Labyrinth is clearly intrigued.
