GM Rinaldo |
Silbeg, we had just received a token from GM Debug. I'll post in the GM thread as well so you can give that aid to someone else.
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
"Yes, we've already got one."
GM Rinaldo |
OK, after a discussion on the GM thread, it has been determined that we can and will receive multiples at a time. Unlike other specials, these do not pass from table to table - Every player at a Seeker table gets one periodically to pass out, so in our smallish house, we'll see them somewhat frequently.
So we now have two aid tokens available to use as needed. You can only use one per encounter, but having the second means you know there's more available and you don't have to horde. ;-)
GM Rinaldo |
Even as he strikes, a Kellid named Sarkast--who's getting ready to charge a Glabrezu--pauses for a brief moment, whipping out a dagger and with a casual flick, sinking it deep into the backside of the brimorak. With a wink and a smirk, he dashes off to battle the greater demon.
OK, I give. I went through your aliases and can't figure out how you know that character ... were you in that AP with us? I don't see any characters in your alias list from it ...
Technically, Sarkast isn't a Pathfinder, but I appreciate the reference all the same. :-)
GM Uktar |
I just went through your aliases to find someone of appropriate level...always fun to pull in a little personal flavor.
GM Rinaldo |
Cool. Sarkast was from the Wrath of the Righteous AP, so is ridiculous even for his level. :-) None of my actual seekers have played in PbP, so they don't have details in their profiles.
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
Sorry, I posted the rules a couple of times, but they've scrolled off
Personally, I hate these things (aid tokens) and don't think they add anything to the PbP experience except to make players uneasy when they don't use them quick enough and GMs nuts because they have to repeatedly break tempo to post about them.
GM Rinaldo |
Yeah, they were originally intended as a way to make the multi-table experience more interactive, by having seekers literally get up from their table to hand the token off and do a little drive-by RP. When we ran this originally at Paizocon, it actually did have that feel. Here, not as much.
The later iterations of aid tokens as things that pass from table to table don't really have that feel - even with the new "charge this up by doing some action to make it better" aspect, you still don't really have the interactive aspect they were meant for.
Thran |
I kinda like this way of the tokens...there's actual Seekers showing up to give one-off help and there's no pressure to use them and pass them on. So might as well save them for when you are in big problems and use them then, it's nice for a safety net. The burst healing is very nice if you don't want to spend your party's actions to heal in combat.
And if you add the rules to the spreadsheet there's no worries when they scroll off the gameplay thread
GM Rinaldo |
Yeah, I didn't think that far ahead, and now we're nearly done with this section. ;-)
GM Rinaldo |
"Wait! You mean we aren't going to take down the kaka-taka thing?"
Sure, I'll just transfer you to the Seeker table. :-)
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
YES! Just imagine the out-of-tier gold!
GM Rinaldo |
Well, folks, it's been fun! I love these characters, and have enjoyed GMing for you.
I will get chronicles out this weekend. In the meantime, everyone can give me a boon roll:
Each player (including each GM) rolls 1d20, 19 or 20 wins a boon. Each boon winner rolls 1d4 to see which boon.
GM roll: 1d20 ⇒ 1 Nope!
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
Here comes the BOON! 1d20 ⇒ 2
Maybe the next person will roll a '3'.
Urktar |
BOOOOOON: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Sweet!
which boon: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Hudor Nero |
Nice. Two people get the Boon and they happen to be different ones.
GM Rinaldo |
Post once you have confirmed it came through ok. Once everyone is confirmed I will archive the campaign.
Thanks again!
GM Rinaldo |
Urktar and Thran, I need email addresses for your boons to be delivered. You can post or PM me.
Thran |
I have the chronicle, thanks

I already send you an PM yesterday. Didn't you get it? It's showing up in my send messages, so I assume it was send.
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
"Yay! I can fight demons better, and... 5th level! I'm a real paladin now! Now, do I go for the horsey, or the sword augmentation?"
Hudor Nero |
With the nature of most Chronicles, sword augmentation would be more useful.
GM Rinaldo |
I have the chronicle, thanks
