Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Okay guys we'll go ahead and muster here!

Please provide:
Your name (as you want it on the chronicle)
Your character's name
Your PFS #
Your Faction
Your Day Job

And go ahead and tell me a little bit about what your character does (this is a good place to point out any build-weirdness, typical uses of immediate actions, if you're slow progression etc.)

Grand Lodge

Male Elf slayer 3/Un Rogue 6/snakebite brawler 2, HP 103 AC 23(27), T 17(21), FF 16(20), F +14, R +19, W +12, Initi. +11, CMD 23, Perception +21, lowlight(+24 traps)

here....just have to level him up...cant decide...slayer 3/urogue 4 or slayer 2/ urogue 5...decisions....

Paul McCrory(grimdog73)
Rallas Linderil
125948-01
Grand lodge
no day job...he's a slacker...

nothing too weird....trapsmith, great perc and Init...swings an ECB with power attack almost all the time....due to furious focus...

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Makes sense - do you have something that lets you take Power Attack at Str 10 though?

Took it as a Ranger Combat Feat - got it.

Your name: Josh P
Your character's name: Dax Rya
Your PFS #: 41759-10
Your Faction: Exchange
Your Day Job: Alchemy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36

Kineticist Shenanigans. Anyone adjacent to me tends to take penalties to dex except in the warmest climes.

EDIT: Also, I have the chronicle for the Elemental pregen scenario, and have resistance to most elements. (It's minor, but worth mentioning beforehand.)

Grand Lodge

Male Elf slayer 3/Un Rogue 6/snakebite brawler 2, HP 103 AC 23(27), T 17(21), FF 16(20), F +14, R +19, W +12, Initi. +11, CMD 23, Perception +21, lowlight(+24 traps)

yeah...you're not the first to question that...works great with Imp crit....10 Str and hits hard...

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Good to know - could you include those resistances in your profile please - I'm not familiar with the chronicle.

Also, it would be great if you could include some of your vital statistics in your character header. (ACs, Saves, CMD, HP, Initiative, and Perception are the standards - see Rallas's as an example)

I will get that updated, I have to tally my chronicles that apply. I will also get a proper update to my profile.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Great, thanks!

And obviously you've got plenty of time - just trying to avoid a sudden pileup of requests once we're in January :-p

Absolutely! I just have to literally read all my chronicles across everyone for their season 8 or 9 or whatever "Earth/Air/Fire/Water affinity" boons.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Inquisitor of Erastil 9 [hp 69/69; F+11, R+12, W+11 (+2 vs. charms); AC 22/15/17; Init +7, Perception +14, Sense Motive +16]

Checking in!

Your name (as you want it on the chronicle): Enchanter Tim
Your character's name: Kargen Hapspring
Your PFS #: 1142-2
Your Faction: Liberty's Edge
Your Day Job: Survival: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24

Kargen is an archer inquisitor. He is a great tracker, decent with some skills, and excels at putting multiple bane arrows into the air to kill an enemy.

Silver Crusade

HP 93/93; AC 20, T13, FF16; CMD 26 (32 vs grapple); F+9, R+9, W+4; Init +2, Perc +4 Human(?) Brawler 10

Your name James Martin
Your character's name: El Garrapata
Your PFS # 1904-18
Your Faction: Silvery Crusade
Your Day Job Profession (sailor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

El Garrapata is a endlessly optimistic giant child trapped in the body of a large man. He always believes the best of anyone and tries to always subdue a foe with nonlethal damage before ever resorting to killing. He's friendly, LOUD and prone to fits of laughter, usually in the raucous Santa Claus vein. Mechanically he grapples quite a bit.

Still working on logging those sheets, but is this better for my character's statbar?

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Looks great - are you going to typically walk around with 0 Burn? Not a GM question, just a kineticist playstyle question :p

The Exchange

Typically? No. I usually put at least 1 into buffer at the start of my day, and go up to 2 or so for my shield. I believe that's already in stats for overflow +2/+4 and my shield. Just hadn't gotten to the start of the day yet.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Huh, usually I fill my Internal Buffer at the end of a day when I'm Kineticizing, otherwise makes sense, I was just curious.

Silver Crusade

HP 93/93; AC 20, T13, FF16; CMD 26 (32 vs grapple); F+9, R+9, W+4; Init +2, Perc +4 Human(?) Brawler 10

Checking in, sorry about getting to the table late. It will be the last time.

My Name on chronicle sheet: William Unger
My character's name: Alexandra Trazaron
PFS #: 223990-14
I will not be using my Day Job for this scenario.

As for any weird things, I am a crossblooded sorcerer so I convert my energy spells into acid damage and I get extra damage for doing so. I am a Pathfinder Savant which allows me to use my caster level in place of the scroll's caster level and how I am able to cast Mind Thrust.

I'll work on adding the chronicle sheets to my profile.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

No worries Alexandra - Hope my nudge didn't come across as too urgent :-p

Two quick things: Which Faction should go on your Chronicle?
My quick scan shows that you have a CL of 7, and nothing that boosts your spell resistance rolls, is that correct? (I ask because frequently against unidentified enemies I'll end up rolling Spell Resistance checks)

The Concordance

Female Human Sorcerer 5 / Pathfinder Savant 8 |HP 93/93| AC 23, TAC 14, FFAC 21, 15 CMD|Fort +13, Ref +13, Will +11|Init:2 Per +4|Spell Slots: 1 (7 Left), 2 (7 left), 3 (6 left), 4 (6 left), 5 (5 left), 6(3 left)|

Its fine, I just was unaware that this thread was happening so thank you for sending me the private message. I was poking around the event post and my profile to see if there was something I missed and, well, there was.

To answer your questions I am a member of the Concordance in good standing. You are correct in saying that my caster level is 7 because of my prestige class dip.

There is nothing that I have that currently boosts my SR checks but having you mention that reminds me that I do need to go shopping. I'm grabbing a few scrolls of Acid Arrow and while I'm at the stalls I'll snag a riffle scroll of Dispel Magic, just in case. I'm also picking up 2 scrolls of Ward the Faithful so if anyone else in the party is into Brigh, you are in luck. If anyone has a suggestion I'd be willing to hear it.

A little about my character. Alexandra is a small human girl in her 20's with rainbow colored hair and is eager to adventure and learn as long has she has had her morning coffee. Also mid-morning coffee. And a pre-lunch cup. Without caffeine she is grumbbly and gets irritated easily but roused out of her stupor by looking at her scrolls or examining magical items. The scrolls that she loves so much seem to explode out of her bag, strain the straps of her bandoleer, and burst out of her pockets.

This is a very important question. Where our adventure begins will there be a place to get coffee or would Alex know she has to bring her own?

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

You'll be at a well stocked Pathfinder lodge to start things off, so you should be fine to grab some coffee there.

Scarab Sages

Active: Elf Occultist 9 / HP 66/66, CMD 24, Init +10, Perc +15 (+2 magic traps), AC 25/15/20, Fort +9 Ref +12 Will +9 (+2 vs ench.) / Spells 1st 6/6, 2d 5/5, 3d 4/4 / Implements: Transmutation 6/6, Evocation 9/9;

Your name (as you want it on the chronicle): Jérôme
Your character's name: Styfis
Your PFS # 212081-2
Your Faction Scarab Sages
Your Day Job (craft books): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Styfis is an Occultist (Battle host) lvl 7 built in an archer. So archery, spells and implements.

The Concordance

Female Human Sorcerer 5 / Pathfinder Savant 8 |HP 93/93| AC 23, TAC 14, FFAC 21, 15 CMD|Fort +13, Ref +13, Will +11|Init:2 Per +4|Spell Slots: 1 (7 Left), 2 (7 left), 3 (6 left), 4 (6 left), 5 (5 left), 6(3 left)|

So from my understanding, El Garrapata and Rallas are up in front while and Styfis, Dax, Kargen, and are in the back with me. Kargen and Styfis shoot things with arrows and can do other cool stuff with spells and occultist stuff. El Garrapata hugs people way too hard and probably loves justice.

I will admit I have NO idea what Kineticists do. I just end up staring blankly and shaking my head when they explain what they do. I'm guessing that Dax hits things with water/ice. Is this correct? When Dax heals someone, does that give that person a point of burn? What penalties will I take when I end up hiding behind you when a scary demon shows up?

One more question (sorry). Is Kargen, the Inquisitor of Erasil going to have an issue with me bringing a Bloody Skeleton with me to carry my stuff during this adventure and also maybe help out with combat if needed. It's off a chronicle sheet so it's somehow not an evil act BUT I'm leaving it up to you.

Also, does your bloody skeleton have a name? Can I give it one if it doesn't?

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Good to know, Styfis. Also, it would be great if you could include some of your vital statistics in your character header. (ACs, Saves, CMD, HP, Initiative, and Perception are the standards - but it's a good place to track spells/focus that you might expend et al.)

Those're some good questions Alexandra - anyone else have useful teamwork enabling questions?

I look up at massive man standing next to me yelling about silverware.

”Oh, this is exciting! We are going to be great pals. Sadly, my skeletal assistant doesn’t have a name, I just got back from the Darklands with him. If you have an idea, I would love to hear it big guy!”

Fey necromancer, what a horrible fight that was. I hope one of the higher ups thinks it was worth it.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Makes total sense Styfis. Basically, whatever you put in your 'Gender,' 'Race,' and 'Class/Levels' will show up in that order as your character header - so you can just add additional details to your Class/Levels section to input them.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Inquisitor of Erastil 9 [hp 69/69; F+11, R+12, W+11 (+2 vs. charms); AC 22/15/17; Init +7, Perception +14, Sense Motive +16]

Kargen isn't an Inquisitor of Pharasma, so he won't outright just try to kill the skeleton. Erastil is all about the proper place of things and the natural world though, so don't expect him to think it's grand. Ultimately what might decide it is that you vouch for it and since it's not evil, it won't register as such during detect evil. That's probably enough for him to tolerate it, though expect some comments. If you had a cool explanation of the skeleton, like it was animated through the spirit of a loved one or something, that might be much better for him to accept.

Is the skeleton hurt by positive energy like normal? Or is it somehow special?

Yep, Kargen is your standard archer from a tactics perspective. He can avoid the cover penalty for allies standing in his line of fire, so it's ok to stand in front of him. And as long as we're in the place where he can hunt food, Kargen can provide food via Survival for most if not all of the party.

The Concordance

Female Human Sorcerer 5 / Pathfinder Savant 8 |HP 93/93| AC 23, TAC 14, FFAC 21, 15 CMD|Fort +13, Ref +13, Will +11|Init:2 Per +4|Spell Slots: 1 (7 Left), 2 (7 left), 3 (6 left), 4 (6 left), 5 (5 left), 6(3 left)|

Sorry if I wasn't clear about this. While it is not an evil act for me to raise this skeleton using this boon, it is definitely an evil bloody skeleton. I'm just going to leave it at home.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Inquisitor of Erastil 9 [hp 69/69; F+11, R+12, W+11 (+2 vs. charms); AC 22/15/17; Init +7, Perception +14, Sense Motive +16]

Huh. Weird that PFS would give you that without thinking how it might affect parties. Well I don't want to deprive you of a cool boon either. Not sure I have an answer right now though.

Undead thing and sorta unkillable with fast healing? Sounds like something to send ahead to spring traps to me...

Using evil to combat evil is pretty much the bailiwick of an Inquisitor, so it's not out of the question.

Like this? Thank you, GM. I always thought it was something to put somewhere else.

So I was looking into Kineticists and it seems like Dax uses the Cold Snap ability to lower the Dex of creatures within a 30 foot radius. That is a very nice ability (is there really no save for the effect?) and I'd like our hydrokineticist to use it as often as possible without having to worry about the rest of us. It says that creatures under the effects of Endure Elements are immune to this effect, does Dax have anyway of shielding us from the coolest gnome I've ever met or should I just buy a wand of Endure Elements with prestige?

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Endure Elements does indeed work, but I feel I should note that the -4 Dex penalty only kicks in while creatures are adjacent to Dax (even though the lowered temperature has a 30' radius).

Oh right right, that’s what I meant, thank you for the clarification though. My question does stand, can Dax shield allies from the cold effect or should I?

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Dax can turn the aura off as a swift, but otherwise lacks any current means (that I could see) of protecting you guys from it.

OK, I'll get a wand of Endure Elements. Do you want to mark on my chronicle sheet that I spent 2 prestige or do you want me to mark it on my end?

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

I'll mark it on the forthcoming chronicle.

I just realized that this game will start at the beginning of me going on holiday. I hope you all are ok with two weeks of intermittent posting from me. After that, I'll be good to go. If you all think it's a deal-breaker, I can bow out.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Not a deal breaker here, but please put together a thorough botting spoiler in your profile, that way whenever you're unavailable we can keep going :-)

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Inquisitor of Erastil 9 [hp 69/69; F+11, R+12, W+11 (+2 vs. charms); AC 22/15/17; Init +7, Perception +14, Sense Motive +16]

Posting here for you to see if this is sufficient. It's also on Kargen's profile. I may have taken your comment of 'thorough' too much. Please let me know if you think there's anything missing. I can also work out the various numbers if you want, but with all the bonuses, there are lots of permutations.

Botting:

Out of combat: Kargen still styles himself as a military man, proud of his service in the Andoran military as well as the work he’s done as a Pathfinder at the Worldwound. He served as an auxiliary there and uses it as a reference for his knowledge of demons and other evil creatures. He willingly uses his skills to help the party and will gladly hunt for any game to keep the group eating fresh food rather than rations.

Prep: At the first inkling of trouble, Kargen uses his Metamagic Rod of Extend with Heroism to give himself a buff. He’s also willing to use this with Disguise Self or Invisibility to scout targets. He prides himself on understanding his opponents and countering their tactics, so if given time to strategize, he’ll try to develop solid military tactics to cut off and counter opposing forces.

In combat: If not in immediate danger, Kargen takes a round to buff (usually with Divine Favor) and get into best position to have line of sight of multiple targets. If he or the group is in immediate danger, he’ll forgo this and use a swift action to activate his Judgements (Justice and Destruction, unless there’s a serious reason for another) and then try to end the threat. If he can get a full attack and he’s already got his Judgements up, he’ll activate Bane and put multiple Bane arrows into the opponent. Once the battle is over, he’ll Eat Sin on any opponents he killed as a way of offering their souls for redemption (and healing himself, but he sees it more as a after battle ritual even if he’s fully healed). If information is needed, he can also use Speak with Dead on any opponents whose Sin he has Eaten.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

Looks great! The only thing that would make it perfect is if you could put the dice expression of your Heroic, Rapid, Deadly, Divine Favored, Judgmental Full Attack at the bottom - if it's in your profile it doesn't roll and stays copyable.

Thanks for getting right on the rest!

Do we want to go ahead and start the role-playing for the introduction in the gameplay thread?

The Concordance

I’ve never done one in a pbp format, but multitable specials have a time period where the table introduces themselves, but Kargan is going on holiday at the start of the game. Personally, I’d like him to get to know everyone and vise versa but maybe we shouldn’t touch the Gameplay tab until the game has officially kicked off. I don’t see why we can’t get into character here though.

Murder in Metal City Map Reach of Corruption Map

That's a good point, I'd hate for Kargen to miss out entirely on the muster. I'll avoid getting the dice-rolling parts of the Act I/Muster, but I'll kick it off a couple days early to make sure Karg makes it to the Starrise Spire too.
