I have literally run or have run every Pathfinder AP that has been published so far, some to completion and some not, except for Mummy's Mask.
I may have the skill and the fame, but neither the extra time nor inclination to do so. I prefer to run adventures where all the math has already been done for me. :)

![]() |

Well be warned Brainiac, It's I and I have characters planned already. It's be great if you run it, we already know your squick level...
Yes the characters are definitely a Niko/Itzi special! ;)

Devon Durant |

My squick level is practically nonexistent. 0.o
Give me a chance to take a look a the first adventure before I decide if I'm running it or not. But if you want to PM me your character concepts, I'm sure it would make for some interesting reading in the meantime... ;)

...wow. That is hardcore. I've, uh, let me see... *starts counting on fingers* uh, maybe half a dozen? Ish?
I feel like I should do the thing from Wayne's World :/

Eliyajah Arodenson |

They're really going to stop producing PF 1 stuff? Oh God, I got a bad feeling 'bout dis :x

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Actually, I think that's fair enough - they're moving to the new edition and it's going to consume all their time and energy. I wouldn't expect them to support the old one.
And again, being fair: Paizo is amazing. They have produced, for 10+ years, a product that surpassed its roots in 3.5 to stand alone, as well as all the materials, campaign settings, and adventure paths to back it up. I have been very negative about what I've seen of the playtest materials, but ultimately I do trust them to get it right.
And if they don't, well, that's sad, but it's just a game. And I can happily reverse engineer new APs to fit the old system. (I've always tended to regard the APs as guidelines anyway.)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

...and in the end it turned out to be the Frightened Wizard, in the Burial Chamber, with the Cantrip.

Ashira Silthand |

Uhm, I dunno. I didn't think we'd get this far.
I guess we get back to town, heal up, and bury our dead.
Ashira has a lot of soul searching to do.
Nice shot

Devon Durant |

Way to go, Eli! I didn't think we would actually survive that. Shame about Say'ri.
Devon is going to have s new perspective on life after this encounter.
In other news, got my copy of Tyrant's Grasp Book 1. Will read through it tomorrow.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

So the verdict seems to be that we want to continue.
Say'ri: how do you want to proceed?

![]() |

I'm AFK for another day so I can't do much now. When I can though I've got an idea for Say'ri coming back as a dhampir (or possibly some other form of undead I'd I can find a not broken one). That ok?

Wandering GM Wastrel |

You're traveling with a Pharasmin priest, so I would prefer something alive. Dhampir is ok, but for your sake I strongly recommend that you pick something that can be healed by positive energy.

![]() |

Dayborn Dhampir then? I want to keep using Sayri but jusr hsndwaving out this fight feels like a cop out. So coming back not entirely alive seemed like a good solution! :)

Duskwalker might be a good choice.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Ooh, good call Devon!

I understand completely - character-building moments should build character :-)

Devon Durant |

Okay fine, I will run Tyrant's Grasp! Quit twisting my arm! ;)
I will create the boards tomorrow morning.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Yay!
(also, what do we want to do here? Shall I cutscene across to Devon and Ashira being revived, or is there a different tack you want to take?)

Devon Durant |

I think it would be best just to skip ahead since there is only one active PC who can post right now.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

OK, we'll do it that way. I'll post something tomorrow.

Eliyajah Arodenson |

You made me look up what Tyrant's Grasp is all about and go figure that this is in book 1:
"An exploration of races inevitably linked to death, including dhampirs, duskwalkers, mortics, and shabtis, by Mikhail Rekun."
A-ha.

![]() |

I'll go with a duskwalker I think. Can you guys take Say'ri' s body back to Ben Ali? I'll write up the rest of the not funeral tomorrow once I'm behind a comp again.
You going to save spaces Brainiac or make us work for it? ;) Either way I'm excited!

Ashira Silthand |

I would like one of those spots, Devon. I don't know what I'd play, but I've just read the player's guide and it looks like I have lots of options.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Thanks, definitely interested! Still thinking about possible character concepts - would be great to hear what other people are thinking of playing. Iron sharpens iron.

Ashira Silthand |

I'm currently in the "I could play THIS! No wait, I could play THAT!" stage.
Current ideas in my head:
Not committed to in the slightest
- A necromancer, wrestles control of undead, metamagic, argues about knowing the enemy, plague doctor?
- Dwarf, cuz Dwarf. Didn't see much in the way of Dwarf hooks
- Half-Orc peasant with a big heart
- Cavalier. Sounds like there's lots of open space
- Orcish ranger from boarder, archer, superstitious
- Cleric or Oracle worshipping Sarenrae, focusing on light and fire
- I play too many paladins, so I promised myself not to play another one for awhile

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Heh. Me as well. Decisions aren't really my thing :-) I tend to get distracted by the ohh, new shiny object!

Devon Durant |

The campaign page is up. Check in at the discussion thread and dot in at the gameplay thread.

Have posted Say'ri's rebirth and completed the restat - she's remarkably unchanged, but deals a bit less damage now.
Thanks for the idea Devon - its very appropriate!
@Wastrel: there's a feat I'd like to take on Akhentepi which lets him talk, and eventually upgrades to Improved Familiar. In the end I'd like to make him a Cassian Angel in the form of his own funerary mask, which I think would be cool.
Unfortunately the Mauler archetype specifically says that Maulers cant talk - no matter what. Could we find a compromise where Akhetepi can't talk whenever he takes Mauler form, but can talk in normal tiny form? Similar to how Barbarians can't do a lot when they rage? If not no biggy - its just nice if Akhentepi can throw his two cents in occasionally! :D

Wandering GM Wastrel |

@Say'ri - I'm not familiar with the rules for the different types of familiar so I can't answer right now. My guess is Paizo made that rule for some sort of reason? Maybe?
I might be prepared to say that he can communicate with you but not anyone else (a sort of speak with master thing). Let's hold off on this for now.

I think its to help differentiate them from other familiars, since they trade out 'Speak With Master' at later levels anyway. Doesn't matter either way, I can always make him a different archetype if that's easier? :)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Thanks for your patience - I was planning to update tonight but I'm still at work. There will definitely be an update tomorrow unless there isn't
(But there WILL be)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Well done! You have successfully explored the first site.
Proceed up to Level Two at your convenience.

Devon Durant |

Oh thank the gods gracious and benevolent GM! I will level up in the morning.
The armor would look nice on Devon if nobody else wants it.

![]() |

Oh, and use max hp/level, OK?
Thank the gods! And the GM! :)
Armours all yours Devon - Say'ri should probably wear something a bit (lot!) heavier!
Who's going to track the party loot? On an ooc note as I recall we don't have much of a chance to sell things until the end of book 1 so we might do well just to track loot in one big go for a while and use whatever is useful for now?

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Actually, the Church will buy stuff from you at the going rate when you report back to them, so you can pay-as-you-urn.
(No. I don't have to be sorry. It's one of the perks of being DM.)

Ashira Silthand |

I'm terrible at remembering to track loot. Ask my players, they'll confirm it. Occasionally I remember to update the map.
What should I do about spell slots that I gain? Do I spend an hour to prepare them?

Devon Durant |

Leveled up! Notable this level, I got the trap spotter rogue talent. Now whenever I get within 10 feet of a trap, the GM rolls an automatic Perception check for me.
Also, keep in mind that I am able to sell "relics" of Ancient Osirion for 60% value thanks to my campaign trait. My first purchase will be masterwork thieves' tools. XD

![]() |

Nearly levelled. Need people opinion though. What do we think the best familiar archetype for Akhentepi is? I'm debating
Mauler
Protector
Sage
and Soulbound Familiar (We could always have a Mascot too if we wanted :D)
They all have a reasonable element of common sense in the backstory (its easy to imagine Akhentepi as a great warrior or protector. He may well be a sage after this many years, and his soul could easily be tied to Say'ri's at this point). What do people think is best? I can take a couple of feats to make him a useful flanking partner no matter what, but I'm not sure which archetype has the most uses.

Eliyajah Arodenson |

Protector might be good, but be careful! It will be rather squishy and an unfortunate area of effect attack might send it to Pharasma's arms :(
I'll sit down to update Eli later today. He'll pick up Vanish and Endure Elements as his freebie spells. Other than that, it's just some HP and skills. Nothing too exciting.

Devon Durant |

Cast vanish on Devon and she will be your best friend. Set up them sneak attacks. :D

![]() |

You up for Outflank and Improved Outflank later on Devon? That way we count as flanking even when we aren't! :D
