The trip to the Seer's District is more or less as the group recalls, only in reverse... With a good deal fewer broken objects. Before long, you arrive at a familiar stone altar.

A large two-tier platform with a rectangular stone altar and four braziers filled with burning coals dominates this chamber. A narrow channel runs red with oily liquid, twisting in strange patterns. The platform is flanked by six statues of demonic mien that reach out with wicked claws.

Four hooded dwarves in dingy brown robes linger near the altar, and one acknowledges the group when you come close. She lowers her hood, revealing a very old female dwarf. She extends one hand in welcome and speaks.

"Strange travelers visit our shrine, perhaps seeking the wisdom of the Vision Unveiled in these troubled times? I am the chief augur of its mysteries. What draws you here?"

At his approach, she begins to chant and finally gestures towards him. Her magic settles over him with a comfortable kind of warmth and she chuckles. "A wild one, I see. But do not forsake discipline and place too much value on freedom... And it's not bad to put others' needs ahead of you now and again."

Arthur:
As she leads Arthur up the altar, she explains that the way one arrays the tiles speaks volumes about his character and motivations. "Before we leave this place forever, we will place them in such a way that will honor Torag and his family." At the top, she flips a small hourglass over and gives him leave to place the tiles as he chooses.

She is visibly shocked when he finishes. Stepping forward to examine the tiles, a broad smile appears on her face. "Very good! Perhaps there is more to you than magic or the gods can tell me." Her wrinkled face gentles some before she leans in. "Listen carefully, while I tell you about..." She tells Arthur several secrets about her cult before leading him back down.

The wizened woman leads Arthur up to the top of the altar for a few minutes. They appear to converse for a brief period before returning to the rest of the group, whereupon she smilingly announces, "If anyone needs healing, restoration, or protection from healing, now is the time to speak!"

Once all of the spells are cast and the farewells are spoken, the dwarven woman and her fellows see the group off before returning to their own rituals.

Soon enough, the party finds itself in the large cave they'd visited before - or is it after now?

This large cave’s condition is strangely similar to that witnessed three millennia later: dirt and stony debris lie scattered across the floor along with discarded scrolls, bits of bone, and several jawless skulls. Crouched over the seven natural pools on all fours are seven humanoid figures clad in dusty, rust-colored robes. The seven sway back and forth in unison muttering an inaudible mantra.

Arthur:
Arthur is able to get quite close and realizes that they are speaking in Dwarven, repeating "Through my blindness let me see, let the future peer through me," over and over again.

Styrian:
Alas, the bits of scroll you pick up are old and stale. You pick them up with a crinkle and then begin to disintegrate in your hands. The documents themselves seem to be too faded and old to be legible.

As the group observes the chanters, they suddenly turn towards the group, ceasing their chanting and getting to their feet. The hoods of their robes fall back as they move and the group can see that each sage has gouged-out eyes partially filled with scar tissue from years of natural healing. Two also draw out jawless skulls with tightly rolled scrolls stuffed into the eye sockets and begin passing them back and forth... Almost as though they were using them as the focus for some supernatural sense.

One of the seers speaks, intoning almost lyrically, "Some say the future is unwritten. I say it is written right here. Should others be enlightened?"

Sad Priest Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

The rogue keeps his footing, though one of the dwarves goes down! His fellows swifly try to take advantage of the rogue's focus on his balance to help their friend up before retreating from immediate harm. All of the enemies seem to be perturbed by the tears in their surroundings.

Time, it seems, is running out.

Whoops, I just realized I dun derped super hard and swapped two initiatives in the last round. I will correct that by moving the Blue Rogue to the end of the next round.

The dretch howls again, twisting its lumbering body as it falls, clawing at the walls even as it fails to stay upright. Its claws happen to intersect with one of the time rifts as it closes and the dretch crumbles to dust before your eyes!

"Do you think you can stop us, interlopers?" the rogue with the orange tunic jeers. "Try stopping me now!" Mocking the group, he advances on the terrified priests, feet somehow finding purchase in the muck of the grease.
