Not sure either, but I can see them now. Good, Kavenell had intended to get behind them. Instead of firing at Gaspar, he will fire at the hobgoblin he can see. (Drew line on map to indicate target). Please apply my prior attack to the hobgoblin instead of Gaspar (looks to me like range penalty goes away, but cover applies, so a net result of 19 v AC?

After squirming to his destination Durest props himself up and takes aim at one of the hobgoblins(J), though it seems some sand was kicked up into his eye and he doesn't notice if the shot hit or not.
Just realized you can only crawl 5ft unless you have a special ability to do otherwise so moved my token to the correct position, Joblin(hobgoblin J) is still in 1st range increment though so it's against touch but shield makes it so the 10 doesn't hit unless they've got really low dex.

So I don't wanna be that guy but you haven't been reloading your crossbow(or at least not stating it, a move action) and doing so would provoke AoO. Shooting while in melee provokes one as does drawing a weapon next to an enemy. So that's 3 AoO provokes. A move used up to reload from the previous turn, standard to shoot, and then all you've got is a free action. Also from the turn you drew the crossbow you drew(move) shot(standard but it wasn't loaded, having it cocked and then loading a bolt i can see though so whatever a free action to place a bolt), 2nd round with crossbow reload(move) shoot(action), 3rd reload(move) shoot(action), current round reload(move) draw whip(move/standard), shoot(standard). So I think unless you don't shoot or have a second standard or move action from something or quick draw what you're trying to do is illegal? Mostly pointing this out cause i feel i'm the only one who's been spending actions to reload his weapon and am getting a little ripped if others are firing reload weapons without using the necessary actions.

Grand Lodge

I've made sure that there was no shenanigans - not moving made everything work mechanically, but going forward it's probably best to annotate posts with precisely how your Move and Standard are being used - that way, there's no grey area.

Eltran knocks out one hobgoblin with a crack of a whip, and Durest downs the last one with his musket, leaving only Gaspar du Mer.

The aged Taldan knight seeks out the next closest fighter to duel, and settles on Eltran. He closes the distance with his shield raised, and holds his bastard sword, ready to swing. "Have at thee, foul beast!"

(Double move, 40'. Incurs an AoO from Eltran, then it's everyone's turn!)

Kavendell walks over to the disgraced knight, then spits upon him, kicking sand into his unconscious face. Turning to the dwarf, he says, "Well done. A most effective weapon that stick has turned out to be."

Then, his thirst for revenge having been slated, the bard heads over to the fallen kitsune and uses the Pathfinder's wand to revive him.

The nobleman next searches out the caravan and its mistress. "The traitor among you now lies upon the sands. How fair you? And in what manner may we now be of service?"

Eltran wakes up to see that the danger is over.

"Tha ... thank you all! You saved my life! May the Everlight bless you ... and this man ... I hope he is not beyond redemption." he says while shaking his head.

"What about the others? Are all hobgoblin's defeated?"

Jamila appears from behind the rocks. "My gratitude to you, Pathfinders. Thanks to you, Gaspar du Mer has been outed for the treacherous dog he is. I must admit to you, I am no mere merchant - I am... a janni."

She closes her eyes, and after a brief moment, allows herself to revert to her janni form - otherworldly and captivating, she stands tall, graceful and powerful.

"I knew Targos Min-Katheer for over forty years... I was his ally, his confidant, and, even sometimes, his lover. He was a great man, but alas, time is harsh to mortals like yourselves. Even the most heroic grow old and wither." her face saddens, as the last few words wistfully escape her.

"The two of us stumbled upon a plot by parties unknown to cripple Qadira’s economy by disrupting trade along the Silken Way. We'd narrowed it down to just a few local merchants, but Targos began feeling the effects of his advanced age after suffering from heart pains and decided he would be ineffective in completing
our mission."

She holds her robes close, wrapping them like a child would hold a treasured blanket. "By agreement, rather than allowing him to slowly dwindle away from his ailments, I gave him a dose of venom from a desert scorpion, and my sweet Targos peacefully passed on. We felt the chances were great that the plotter would use the event of Targos' death as an opportunity to launch his plot."

She glares over at the unconscious du Mer. "As such, I carefully ensured that each of the suspected merchants would be on the very caravan on which Targos’s body would travel with his Pathfinder escort. I knew between you all and I we would be able to catch the devil in the act. At first, I'd thought Hokama might be the plotter, it turns out it was Gaspar who murdered his partner so he could secretly pay off a pair of harpies to waylay travellers along the Silken Way – you must have encountered them in your travels."

She gestures to the fallen hobgoblins strewn about the sands. "In conjunction with strikes by his hired band of desert brigands, Gaspar had hoped to attract
the greater harpy colonies of southern Qadira to the easy pickings of the trade route and thus seal off the route for years to come. Once I realized that you were still alive and could help, I had to break my cover and moved to end the threat to the all-important Silken Way."

The rest of the trip to Katheer is uneventful. Upon arriving in Katheer, Targos Min-Katheer is given a hero’s funeral attended by many Pathfinders (including some of the Decemvirate), as well as notables from the satrap’s court and a few genie-kin from the deep desert.

THE END!

... unless there's any other questions, that debriefing pretty much ends the scenario! A tough one for sure, and certainly a little tough as a GM (in trying to keep a chaotic 15+ token battlefield going in PbP).

My apologies for the few mistakes, as with these first scenarios, there's some minor annoyances in the transitions from 3.5 to Pathfinder, but I think it all worked out.

Please, any feedback, grievances, suggestions or constructive criticism, let me know. If you think it's more prudent to do it over PM, please, by all means. I'm always looking for feedback to make future games run more smoothly.
