You return to town, sell your loot, buy some new gear, and become more powerful before you return to the spire. Using a combination of transport tokens and good old fashioned walking, you make your way to floor 7's stairs.

***Floor 7: Shrine of the Awakener***

Signs of battle—most commonly dried blood, scorch marks, and smashed bones—appear along the stairway down.

The stairs end in the northeast corner of a small, brightly lit room with a door on the west wall. In the center of the room are two large iron racks holding numerous burning candles. The iron candleholders are crafted so that each candle appears to be held in the jaws of a serpent. A phrase is written on each rack in Undercommon.

The door on the west wall is open, and leads to a short passage that ends at another door.

Kro'akoth led Abyssal armies as a general known as the Fire Serpent until, upon witnessing a great army of gnolls sacrifice themselves for Lamashtu, he decided to pursue true power through the worship of other creatures. His initial followers were troglodytes, but he has expanded into other groups of unclaimed followers, inserting himself into forgotten cults or presenting himself to those who formerly lacked deities or worshiped false ones, not revealing what he truly was in many of these cases.

Welp, Regnum points out that the candles form a powerful magical trap. Any creature that moves into a square adjacent to one of the racks (an act necessary to cross the room to the door) causes the candles to activate a fireball type trap.

Under each candle rack is the phrase, translated by Baied, that says "Offer prayer to Kro’akoth the Awakener, scaled brethren, and be welcome here"

Nothing else is of much interest in this room right now. The door is open, however, but it leads down a short hallway to a closed door.

The door is barred from the other side, but it could be chopped or bashed down given some time. Barm's adamantine sword should make quick work of the door or the bar on the other side.

As soon as the door opens, a rank odor, like a burned corpse was left out in the sun for a week, rushes out.

The room is an irregular octagon, and stone and wood barricades have been built in front of the doors on the south and west walls. It appears the walls were once covered with frescoes, but these have all been smashed, leaving rough walls and jagged debris.

The floor in front of the barricades is all difficult terrain. Behind the barricades, there is no difficult terrain and the troglodytes can move with ease.
With a successful DC 15 Acrobatics check, a character can scrambling over the stone barricade as a move action. If the creature fails, it must stop and climb over deliberately (another move action)

6 Troglodytes stand guard behind the barricade here. They are carrying javelins and, when they see you, they pull their arms back and get ready to throw! You notice that they don't spell as bad as normal troglodytes for some reason.

@Barm, the entire room is difficult terrain, I'm not seeing anyway for you to reach a trog in round 1 from the door. I'm going with a double move for now.

Regnum fires his gun and easily lodges a bullet in the arm of one of the trogs.

Baied hangs back for now.

Talondreal fires a ray, but the Troglodyte dodges the beam.

Barm easily kills grey, then steps over and kills blue thanks to Saint Gudule's fey creatures blinding it.

Regnum fires both his bullets at yellow, killing that one too.

Orange moves over to Barm and uses his Smite Good on him before swinging its falchion!

But even with Abyssal power, the creature misses.

The other two try and swing at Talondreal over their barricade, also using their smite goods on him!
