Sorry everyone I wasn't able to respond sooner. Yeah my 'vacation' went longer than expected, then the days I thought I would free were filled with baby care, shopping, and more time with family. Now back to work and should be posting daily now! :)
Lidras quick recap: The group found a lone tree on a hill surrounded by mist. Met Niche and a skeleton lord. They fought, Niche won and ate a fruit. Matthew went into the mist and got killed, he recovered somehow and went in and smashed the skeleton thing there. Undead things appear to be the guardians, hint hint. Matthew ate a fruit. Rosa attacks the wyverns with Serill backing her up. Driving off most of the wyverns, Rosa freed a massive bronze dragon like creature, dropping several to the ground which the group has fought off easily enough. Rosa pile drove her sword down the side of the tree releasing the ooze. Some of the group ran others are backing off just to keep out of reach of the all consuming ooze so far.
Davian Dreamspun |
wow Davian, cool RP
Thanks. I was hoping it wasn't too much.
Old Snowbeard |
You're kidding?
If you're screwing causes an multi-century old dwarf grab for his notebook to note your cursing down ...
You know that you nailed it xD
Old Snowbeard |
Anyone got words from Aden?
His last post was from Dec 7, 2018...
IC would have nominated him probably, but that wouldn't make much sense if he isn't with us anymore, right?
Old Snowbeard |
I'm fine with it (well, I didn't got too much of her attention as of yet, so I'm probably not a good judge there).
We can't have a friendly, good-hearted hell-dweller, can we?
Probably does not fit the 'evil' label, right? xD
Old Snowbeard |
@Davian: Huh, I just noticed that I totally missed the fact that you are a desna-cleric and actually said so the moment we met. Should have acted otherwise back then, but well ...
Anyway, here have a vote. Snowbeard is nearly trusting Desna followers due to background reasons :-)

No Breath
Pounce
I'd kind of like some sort of leaping ability, so he could jump like the Hulk, however, I haven't really seen anything like that in the rules, so I would not be sure how to propose it. It is easier to get a fly speed than an interesting leaping ability. The monk High Jump ability is not what I had in mind either, it helps you jump a whopping 5 feet higher, where what I picture is more like 50 ft (but not miles at a leap like the Hulk, or the Seven League Leap Mythic ability). Maybe something like this:
Primal Leap: You may leap up to your move speed in any direction as a move action, or up to twice your move speed in distance as part of a charge action. Halve these distances without room for a running start. If you do not have a fly speed, you fall at the end of this movement. You always take the minimum possible damage from falls (as if the GM had rolled a 1 on each die of damage incurred by the fall) and at the end of a fall always land on your feet. You may extend this leaping distance with an Acrobatics check, using Strength to calculate your bonus instead of Dexterity. The DC for the additional distance is equal to each additional foot of vertical height, or each additional 5ft space of distance.
-The falling damage bit is the same as Boots of the Cat, a rather low cost magic item, and so does not seem like an overpowered addition. The overall ability is not exactly combat (though usable in combat), and rather flavourful, so tell me what you think.
Celestial Fruit:
Roll 1d8: 1-6 +2 to that ability score. If the ability is not a favored ability for your class you may roll again and gain both +2s.
7: Roll a d6 twice gaining only those +2 and gain a minor bonus.
8. Roll a d6 twice gaining only those +2 and gain a major bonus.
1d8 ⇒ 1 Fluff bonus: his hideous scars were removed.
+2 to Strength. Done...
Primal Leap is acceptable
Old Snowbeard |
@Wolf: I was rolling to see if Snowbeard can recall anything about that name Rosa found out from his vast collection of memory.
From Historian racial trait, I get a +2 on history and nobility checks if the knowledge may have to do with dwarves, that's why I mentioned it.
But if dwarves have nothing to do with the guy buried here, I simply don't get that +2, but still have a lot of unnecessary highly-situational knowledge crammed in that skull of his :-)
GM Wolf |
With that understanding you go through your mind and look for places that might be similar to the one before you. A massive tomb, one that is likely to be a maze and a death trap. You know the Osirion pharaohs created such labyrinths.
GM Wolf |
Save and save before posting... I do my best to remember to copy my post before putting it up. If I don't then it eats it up normally. Paizo has gotten even more unreliable.
Lets to a check in to see who is still with us, many of the starting players/characters have not posted in a long time.
I see Niche, Rosa, Seril, Snowbeard, Davian, and Annwyn.
Annwyn Reskal |
Okay, so I think I'll claim a Lesser rod of Extend Spell (3,000 gp) and a silver wand of knock (4,500 gp).
GM Wolf |
Now two things can happen folks... you can decide who is getting a magical item, someway on your own OR I can get involved. You have until 5 pm Friday to decide, if not settled I will be taking steps. I could just be tired and misunderstanding...
Also I will be moving us up 1 round every hour, then the fog will be upon the group or any left standing outside when I wake up.
Rosa Luminasss |
@ All other players
Rosa as no need of wealth, she is given what she needs by her commanders, So she will take no items or gems UNLESS
1: They seem to be keys to doors
2: Ways to block a trap,
and even then she will ask,
so knock yourselves out fellow players..
@GM how wide is the Picked Pit?
Old Snowbeard |
Fun fact: after viewing Venom yesterday, I can't stop hearing that voice answering whenever I imagine Snowbeard talking with his beard ^^
Old Snowbeard |
Oh, mhhh, actually, I thought that there is a way forward 'in that hole'.
I didn't get the fact that it is a dead end ...?
GM Wolf |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Thanks Lidras! I know most of you have wings, just making sure! ;)
But if you did not have wings and you fell 120 feet what would the damage be... I haven't done major falling in a long time. I know I could look it up but first seeing if someone else has the knowledge.
I know you could try a DC 30 climb check to grab onto a ledge to stop your dissent but also what else are your options?
Old Snowbeard |
I am sorry, but I don't fully get it.
What are the options?
Jump through the door with a reflex save, taking some damage from falling debris or fall way down?
Is my reading correct?
GM Wolf |
Nice landing Rosa!
Oh gotcha Lidras.
Snowbeard, do you try to get through the door before the floor fall out, fall with the floor (both rolling to see if you negate the debris from hitting you and falling to the ground) OR holding onto the walls (climb DC 20) and climbing down...(climb DC 20.... 20 times...You can take a 10 if that helps.) [See Spoiler below]
As Rosa tries to catch Davian: Dex check DC 15, does she take half damage for Davian then?
Creatures that fall take 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet fallen, to a maximum of 20d6. Creatures that take lethal damage from a fall land in a prone position.
If a character deliberately jumps instead of merely slipping or falling, the damage is the same but the first 1d6 is nonlethal damage. A DC 15 Acrobatics check allows the character to avoid any damage from the first 10 feet fallen and converts any damage from the second 10 feet to nonlethal damage. Thus, a character who slips from a ledge 30 feet up takes 3d6 damage. If the same character deliberately jumps, he takes 1d6 points of nonlethal damage and 2d6 points of lethal damage. And if the character leaps down with a successful Acrobatics check, he takes only 1d6 points of nonlethal damage and 1d6 points of lethal damage from the plunge.
Falls onto yielding surfaces (soft ground, mud) also convert the first 1d6 of damage to nonlethal damage. This reduction is cumulative with reduced damage due to deliberate jumps and the Acrobatics skill.
A character cannot cast a spell while falling, unless the fall is greater than 500 feet or the spell is an immediate action, such as feather fall. Casting a spell while falling requires a concentration check with a DC equal to 20 + the spell’s level. Casting teleport or a similar spell while falling does not end your momentum, it just changes your location, meaning that you still take falling damage, even if you arrive atop a solid surface.
Falling into Water: Falls into water are handled somewhat differently. If the water is at least 10 feet deep, the first 20 feet of falling do no damage. The next 20 feet do nonlethal damage (1d3 per 10-foot increment). Beyond that, falling damage is lethal damage (1d6 per additional 10-foot increment).
Rosa Luminasss |
Nope she is going to grab him and fly him down, She is large he is midm Acrobatics 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 + Fly 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Davian Dreamspun |
Visibly not happy with the situation, Davian lets the half-fiend giantess fly the cleric down to join the others. "Țhănk you", the varisian grumples.
Rosa Luminasss |
She puts him down but says nothing to wound his pride.
doing what she had done was all she needed to say.
"So let us continue, follow the undying one"
Old Snowbeard |
Still around, but taking a back-seat for a couple of days as I am currently in the process of setting up a new game, which takes much more time than actually running one as every GM probably can tell you.
Annwyn Reskal |
Oops, Gameplay wasn’t showing anything new for me. I’ll try to catch up and post tomorrow at some point.
Old Snowbeard |
@GM: Shall we post 2 rounds worth of actions or are the leopards doing anything beside charging that might change our plans for round 2?
GM Wolf |
Well things for me have turned for the worse. Sickness, for myself, my family, and a visit to the ER. We are all fine now but still recovering.
Unless some of you start charging forward, there is 300 or 400 feet of space to cover, it will take the leopards all round 2 to get close, then pounce on round 3. So I need your actions for rounds 1 and 2. That will determine how many get to you.
