Cardinal Lucius would never admit it, but he appreciates a full night of sleep whenever he can have it and instead of protesting simply blesses those who volunteer for a watch before settling in for the night.
Can't quite beat that check while asleep... nearly though!

The Ogon Fox |

Cool, just after midnight will be while Bernardo, the Fox, and Alphonse are all awake.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
I think the campfire probably has a 30ft radius of normal light and then the next 30ft are dim (better than the 20ft-20ft provided by a torch, since it's a bigger fire). I have low-light vision, so each of those dimensions is doubled for me.
But I'm just not perceptive enough! =)

Ogon Fox is not paying close enough attention to the animals to notice Mwikali's donkey vanish into the darkness with little more than a stifled squeal and a flash of glowing blue eyes...

Alphonse has no ranks in Perception, so he cannot possibly pass that check.
Shiki, on the other hand, MIGHT be able to? It's a longshot though.

Machiavelli's keen underworldly senses detect the desert bandersnatch as it steals the donkey, his half-drow eyes locking with the icy blue orbs of the desert bandersnatch for a brief second as the campfire cracks and leaps into the night sky...

Desert bandersnatch |

The mounts are clearly disturbed and on alert within a few seconds of the desert bandersnatch brazenly pouncing on the donkey in the shadows between two large tents!
There is a stifled squeal, then ravenous chomping, chewing and swallowing in the darkness, receding further away over the dunes...

The dark elf-blooded Machiavelli's bolt strikes true, right between the glowing blue eyes! A groan of pain echoes from the darkness, sounding some 60 feet distant, give or take... Machiavelli"s darkness-penetrating eyes perceive the outline of the beast... a giant, feline monster with six legs and a spine bristling with barbs...
Down 23 hp... It is immune to poison and sleep...
Snarling, the monster in the darkness glares with its glowing blue eyes at the half-dark elf and they seem to flash with an almost maddeningly contagious lunacy!

I'm not 100% certain of this, but I am guessing that after that additional 60 feet of movement away from the camp, the bandersnatch is now outside where the dim light reaches, even for low-light vision. That means it is in total darkness and I can't see it. For that reason, I think the only sensible action I can take is to move back to the camp and try to take cover behind a tent. This sequence of events confuses me. Does it move in next to Alphonse (who was 20 ft. away from it), and then move away (it has Spring Attack or soemthing?) or is it just a mistake in where you thought Alphonse was?

Fox ran toward the monster and made a single attack in round 1, so they were adjacent to each other about 60 feet from the camp. Maybe Fox wouldn't have the move speed to have reached the bandersnatch in round 1? That could be where the confusion arises...

The Ogon Fox |

The Fox has an idea as he shakes off the bandersnatch's gaze. The bandersnatch, and everyone else, sees the Fox drop to the ground. It looks like he died instantly when the bandersnatch focused its gaze upon him!
Spending 1 ki point as a move action to make use of the 'appear dead' function of my ki metabolism power.
As a move action, he can spend 1 ki point to enter a state of suspended animation, falling unconscious and appearing dead to all senses. At the time he enters this state, he indicates a preset period of time or a triggering condition, after which he awakens.
The triggering condition to re-awaken me shall be when the bandersnatch approaches within 5 feet of me (presumably, to start eating or to drag me away and then start eating). Now, I won't be interrupting the bandersnatch's turn with my own further actions--I'm not doing a readied action, I just will awake when he approaches so that I'm awake already when it comes to my turn again. Also, since I will awake when he gets within 5 feet, that means I will no longer be unconscious and helpless at the time that he attempts to bite me (although I will still be prone, which gives a +4 to his melee attack roll).
Finally, to all of my allied PCs--you've never seen me do this before, so you definitely think I have just died.

The Ogon Fox |

Fox ran toward the monster and made a single attack in round 1, so they were adjacent to each other about 60 feet from the camp. Maybe Fox wouldn't have the move speed to have reached the bandersnatch in round 1? That could be where the confusion arises...
My move speed is 50 feet, but when you charge you move as much as double your speed (100 feet), so it was no problem for me to go 60 feet.
I think the only issue here is that in Round 2, the bandersnatch should only provoke from the Fox when it moves, not from Alphonse also. Because Alphonse was not adjacent to the bandersnatch like the Fox was.
